Fishy Observation
The fish were colorful in a very odd way.

Unlike you with your shivering scales that changed to your wishes, the fishes Scales stayed the same color but it changed depending on how you looked at it. Like the odd pink fish in the water, at first it was just that pink, but once it swam into a beam of light, colors seamed to sparkle off of it scales.

You wondered if you could do something similar?

Your scales shivered as you made an attempt at the pink fishes odd Reflective coloring. The water around you making and odd vibrating sound as your scales moved only to find failure. The pink was strange and subdued, you didn't like it at all.

So you tried again.

And again.

And again.

By the time the sun was on it's final decent, you'd finally managed to make your scales turn slightly sparkly. It was very difficult to maintain and the odd pattern your scales took when changing (unlike Morada's) made it seem out of place. Not to mention how grating it was to keep it sparkly instead of just having it stick to dull color.

But even then just seeing your scales take on such a sheen made you feel like one of the poof-y things in the sky.

You couldn't wait to show your sister!

Okay, this is hilariously short and even this small tidbit fought me like a alligator on steroids! But I got done so there!

Fishy Observation: Electric Boogalo
(Don't worry she's not dying.)

Some part of you wanted to run to your sister and show off your current progress in the remaining daylight. However in the end you silenced it, practice makes perfect and there was still at least fours hours of daylight left before the sun took it's nap.

So after taking a moment to catch your breath, you dived back under the water and found a comfortable patch of silt to lay in where the pink fish was still visible.

The fish themselves didn't even bother to scatter, after so many hours in your presence without causing harm they had lost interest in you. Unless you got to close to them, then they would disappear in a flurry of flapping fins.

The pink fish from your observations, had a tendency to hog any beams of light chasing out any smaller fish (Not that there were many as all the fish seemed to be of similar size). Something that benefited you greatly, seeing as you were trying to copy it's sparkly-ness.

Anyway you settled yourself into a comfortable space in the silt, where you could look at your own scales and compare them to the pink fish without much issue.

Then your scales started to shiver they always did when you changed color, and you began to try an match the much smaller creatures pattern. The vibration of your scales sending the fish closest to you, into a flurry of motion as they increased their distance before settling again.

Soon the world blurred into a mix of failure and further attempts, by the time your were knocked from your own single mindedness you'd managed to get almost as shiny as the pink fish!

If you took out your odd marks, made them sparkle more, and made you far, far smaller, you'd be a perfect match! You'd even found that by concentrating you could make the odd pattern of your scales harder to spot!

It was really hard to do though, and it made your scales ache like your muscles had when you found the lagoon. When you stopped an let your scales settle back to their normal color they kept twitching.

The twitching was annoying, but somehow it left you feeling satisfied.

Putting that to the back of your mind, you looked around to see what had drawn you from your own little world. You were stunned to find the sun was almost to point where it would retreat back to it's own nest. You were sure that much time hadn't passed, but that wasn't really important.

No that would be your sisters worried cries that you could hear clearly, even if the sound was dampened by the water.

With an almost negligible push from your tail you shot out of the water, and slammed into the ground feet first. A mere moment was given to ensure your balance didn't fail you, before you blurred into the forest towards your sisters cries.

What you found stunned you.

Morada was Running around in an odd twitchy manner as she seemed to search thin air. Her scales shivered in a disjointed fashion from hue to hue never making a complete shift before another rippled through her scales, while other scales refused to change at all, leaving black spots scattered about her form. The normal ring of purple around her eyes was missing completely, consumed by her pupil and her every breath was labored, but taken quickly.

You could hear her heart beating at a frantic pace, thundering like a beast trying to escape it's cage, the scent of panic suffusing the air in a dreadful scent.

Then she saw you.

With movement that was fast enough your brain didn't truly register it, she was beside you. Twittering like one of the sky creatures as she seamed to inspect you for damage at a frantic pace.

It was surprisingly difficult to coral the smaller dinosaur as your wrapped yourself around her in scaly prison and tried to calm her before she gave herself a heart attack. It seemed to work as you felt her heart beat begin to move in a smoother, less panicked fashion.

However, what confused you the most were your sisters trills as you calmed her down.

Why would she be making the trills of an abandoned hatchling that wasn't fast enough to keep up with the pack? She had you after all.

Family Stays Together
Time was unimportant as you made comforting meaningless mewls and trills to your sister while she was trapped in your scaly embrace.

By the time her heart calmed down to a steady less panicked beat the sun had fallen to it's nest, and the only light were the Two legs false suns. She's long stopped trying to escape, and her trills of being left behind had been silenced by your embrace.

You were worried when you realized she wasn't moving only to realize she had fallen asleep with the sun. You almost did the same, worry having eaten away at your energy when you tensed your body in realization.

You weren't safe yet, still in the corner of the cage where the odd two leg had fallen on it's back, and you had climbed the fence. A space that was far to open for it to be safe.

You had to get Morada to safety.

Something far easier said then done, as your sisters size had grown past the point you carry her in your mouth safely even with your own increased size. It took time but with your sister dead to the world in a long sleep, you found that if you leaned her back into your arms you could carry her. You had to be very careful not to drop her as you found and walk with back bent back but you could do it.

So with the 'how' removed, you needed to figure out where to move her. The answer coming immediately, the lagoon with the tall trees surrounding it and it's soft white sand seamed to be the safest.

Destination set, you began to haul your sister to safety. The path was easy to follow, dyed in your own worry as it was, but seamed to stretch on in an endless fashion. It was with relief that you found the lagoon as your arms began to ache from carrying your sister. Setting her softly into the white sand you glanced around for a place to make a temporary nest.

It was with a perplexed sensation that you found an indent in the gray stone around the water, not truly large enough to be called a cave, but far safer than just laying on the beach.

So with some effort you move some of the soft sand into what was to be you new sleep nest by taking large mouthfuls over to the nest. Once there was enough to lay in comfortably you picked your sister back up and moved her over before wrapping yourself around her and falling into sleep your self.

You hoped your sister liked it.

Morada: The Other Side of the Coin
The sun woke from it's nap with a furious shine, as it glared into your closed eyelids.

Really the sun just needed to suffer, why couldn't it just let you continue your nap? (why couldn't you just sleep? Sleep until you die. Sleep until the pain goes away.) You blinked the thought away, you knew exactly why you couldn't indulge in your need for rest.

Something all the more apparent for the scaled body wrapped around you, like a smaller, more welcome form of the fence your sister had climbed. Really what had she been thinking?

Your worry had been so eclipsing you'd had to force your self to pay attention to your broken yellow twig, in order to avoid panicking. Not that it had helped when Azula had decided to disappear.

The very though made your scales shiver disjointedly, and apparently woke your sister as the scaled limpet around you began to unwind. (the pulse of loss that raced under your scales was ignored in it's entirety.)

A soft inquiring caroon met your senses as your sister began to inspect you, leaving you time to notice that your weren't where you last recalled. You were laying in a small cave with odd soft sand having been used as a nesting material.

It felt oddly safe for some reason, despite the scent of worry leaking off of Azula like water. Perhaps it was the worry that made it comfortable, it showed how much Azula had worried over her after all.

(It showed that Azula had gone against her very senses, it showed that Azula didn't kill, or abandoned the runt of the litter to the wilds. It showed that Azula went against her very instincts for you.)

Your sister seemingly satisfied with your state, began to nudge you with her snout. Pushing you out of the small nest she had made, (For a second you were terrified was this it? Was this where you were abandoned?) following you out as she did.

What you found was a wonder.

Bright white sand shining with sunlight, assaulting your senses with it's beauty. Water so blue and flowing softly in gentle swirls, as fish visibly swam under it. (it reminded you of your sister, her eyes so blue and scales so black they made the shadows of your mind flee in fear.)

(The sight itself allowed you to ignore the pain.)

Then your sister made a sound of glee as she dove into the waters fearlessly, (didn't she know that it could be dangerous?) before calling for you to follow. As usual you made a disgruntled huff before following her. (You knew what happened when you ignored her, and being rolled around like a ball had been annoying enough the first time, let alone the second or third.)

The water felt like the odd fluffy things in the sky looked, as it flowed around your scales. An ache you hadn't even noticed being soothed by it's cold depth as your sister lead the way.

Some part of you wanted to snap at the fishy things, wanted to eat as many as possible until you were full. Another Part of you warned not to, that the pretty fishes were dangerous, and not edible. Another part just didn't care, eat them if they come near it called. But before you could make decision you sister made a call to stop, garbled as it was in the water.

As she did so Azula's body language saying for you to sit and stay still. That was something you could and would do with no complaints, as you sank deeper into the water before getting comfortable in the silt. (The stillness brought mindlessness, an escape.)

You didn't know how much time passed before your sister got your attention, as usual whenever you did this time blurred beyond your ability to tell.

Your sister was pointing at a pink fish, but when you moved to to go eat it she stopped you? Why would she do that? Before you could question her the fish swam into a beam of sunlight.

It's scales sparkled magnificently as the suns glare shifted and sparked off it's scales in action that could only be called beautiful.

It was stunning, and was made only more so when you felt the vibration in the water as Azula shivered her scales. She looked exactly the same as she usually did to your confusion, at least until she pushed off from her own spot in the silt and into the beam of the sun.

She was the definition of beauty as her black and blue scales sparkled to outshine the sun itself, dying the water in her colors as beams of blue pieced the water.

Then she began to teach you how to do the same, and warmth pulsed under your scales like the sun had decided to hide under your flesh.

In the back of your mind, your realized this was were she had disappeared to. That this was why she had been gone, why she had left.

But you couldn't care less, after all she came back. Just like the sun, as it disappeared for it's nap but showed itself again without fail.

Your sister came back.

Azula, Came back.

In the end that was all that mattered.

Begining Observation: 17-PTK
Time passes in a blur of sunsets as you and Morada finish the haphazard sand nest you'd made on the spot. Digging out the ground some more, before adding more sand as just generally making the cove into a better nest.

On the third day the two legs began acting strange, moving their odd machines around the fence and banging strange metal bundles around the edges. Part way through the day four days later, a strange cloud of foul smelling liquid drifted into your territory.

It makes you feel sleepy, and you almost fall asleep before you can get Morada back to the nest. Thankfully when you wake up the two legs were gone, although the strange fence was now connected to the strange not there stuff that made up the roof. There also a bunch of walkways surrounded by metal fencing at varying heights.

The two legs seamed to enjoy staring at you from them, as well as from the sides of the fence.

It was odd, really. Thankfully they no longer fell on their back when you copied their garbled sounds. You'd been worried when the odd two leg you'd met had still been lying on it's back after the two legs got you down.

Your average day consisted of spending time in the water with Morada as you both practiced making your scales sparkly. Morada seemed to be able to do it far faster than you, but she also found keeping her scales at such a sheen irritating. Often diving into the deep shadowed parts of the water, to enjoy it soothing cold.

Hunting the Pink Meat the two legs left as offerings was also becoming a common thing, though they seamed to be getting smaller.

You also took to walking the area around the lagoon, studying the different tree and their scents.

As such your life had settled into a neat approximate of a schedule. Something that soothed Morada as she got used to you leaving and coming back around certain times, never going to far to make sure she was still okay.

In the end, you were just glad she liked the nesting place you chose.

The two legs however were being annoying. Ever since your sisters panicked behavior they had seemingly started appearing out of thin air. Now with these odd walkways in place, they never seemed to leave you alone.

At least one of the odd white wearing two legs was always present, banging their feet against their metal walking paths at all hours, shining thier bright false beams of light everywhere they went. You were very grateful that there was only one such path by your nesting ground, and it was very high in the air. Enough so to mute their endless stomping and that they didn't bother shining lights down at you.

But you had a problem.

You were getting bored, and your idle curiosity was only growing.

Was there another lagoon somewhere in the fence? Other creatures you just hadn't noticed? Was there something? Was there nothing?

You wanted to know so badly, but would your sister be okay with you leaving for the period needed to do so?

Interlude: DNA Crisis
Dr Henry Wu was quite nervous, not something unique to him at the moment seeing as his colleges on project Chimera looked similar to what he felt. Their faces pale from worry and just as sleep deprived as him.

Not that he could blame them, they'd all had issues with sleep since they'd called for the Cavalry. Almost every facility on the Island had gone on lock down near instantly, and they'd been forced to wait almost an entire day before the Ingen security & Investigations Team (ISIT) arrived on the island to let them out.

It had been more than a week since then, time passing in far to much of a blur to keep any track of it, most of it spent either pacing around in their personal quarters or complying with any of ISIT's requests. Honestly if the situation was any less dire, he might have had a flash back to his days as an intern. Just thinking about it sent shivers down Henry's spine.

Either way working and worrying round the clock had obviously done none of them any favors, solely based on their matching eye bags.

The wait for the investigations findings was infinitely more painful then sleep deprivation in Henry's opinion, but he'd always been a bit of an oddity on that spectrum.

In the end, the clicking as the door opened to show the ISIT liaison signaled both relief and further anxiety.

The man was average in just about every descriptor, average height, common brown hair, nondescript brown eyes, all of it coming together to shape a man that would fade from your mind within seconds if you crossed his path on the street.

None of them had even been able to get his name when he'd had them either locked in their quarters or doing his every command.

"Greetings to you staff of Project Chimera, sorry for my behavior but we simply did not have the time for pleasantries on my arrival. I am ISIT Commander Edward Mance, and I'm quite happy to say that we have manage to clear you of any guilt or wrong doing during your time here. Sadly, there is no time for celebration, we need you back at work. Mostly to double check our own findings."

The newly introduced man paused, digging through a previously unnoticed Briefcase before pulling free a set of manila folders. Handing them out with all haste before starting again.

"These are our findings related to your claims of espionage and tampering. I'm sure you are all qualified to understand the repercussions of their contents, and I want you all back on the job the second you've absorbed the offered information. Now if you would excuse me, I need to start the individual interviews and investigations for every single person on the island except you four. Your assignments will be at the back of the file."

Commander Mance didn't even bother giving a parting wave before disappearing out the door of the conference room.

Henry paid him no heed as he dived into the folder he was holding

It was a combination of His own research of both Azula and Morada as well as ISIT's own findings. As a result He knew most of the information it contained, but what he didn't know was all the more stunning.

Azula had shown the ability to mimic human speech, advanced reasoning, a high empathy quotient, and her regeneration was leagues beyond what he had thought at its initial discovery.

All of it paled at her DNA profile.

It was almost exactly as Henry remembered, there was even the strand of DNA he'd had to add in order to stabilize Azula's embryo. He could feel his own stomach roil as saw what was different.

There were extra Genetic sequences spread throughout Azula's Genome, each of them making small changes that resulted in the Hybrid they'd created today. Circumventing their own efforts at keeping her a manageable size, constraining her predatory nature, preventing any odd mutations, almost everything he had toiled over had been changed in small ways.

Something he'd worked into a fine art, A painting worthy of being a museums main display, twisted beyond anything he could conceive.

But the worst part, the thing that sent his well ordered mind into a scramble, and caused his stomach to try and climb out of his throat.

Human DNA. Someone had added Human DNA to Azula.

He forced himself to move onto Moradas file, skipping the small bits left in Azula's. He was almost happy to find how little of Morada had been modified. Sure there was bit that would cause her to grow to her natural size, but that was so small as to be insignificant compared to Human DNA.

Then he saw it, his mind nearly burning as he thought through the implications.

The fact Morada was still alive, that she hadn't resulted in dud egg was a near miracle. The fact that she hadn't died, that she was still alive with this disgusting edition to her genome was a curse worse than any he could conceive, His stomach doing a flip at the mere consideration.

It was nearly as bad as the Human DNA. Morada was likely in near constant, high intensity pain since she hatched. She probably couldn't even choose between her own clashing instincts.

Henry Wu lost the fight with himself and spilled his lunch on the conference room floor.

Whoever had done this was nothing less than a sick bastard, and if Wu got his hands on them, then he was going to make their life a living hell.

Issue revealed:

Mutilated Genes
Less than five percent of Morada's genetic code is a combination of countless creatures smashed together and spaghettified into her genome with all the subtlety of four year old shoving a triangle through the diamond shaped hole.

More info added to character sheet.

Hopefully Wu isn't too out of character, he's really hard to write as anything other than an ass.

Exploration Time
Your decision was made, it could not be taken back.

For it was time to EXPLORE!

But first you must solve the issue of what to do with Morada, something that was not as simple as your decision to explore. You didn't want to leave her here alone, but at the same time you really didn't want to stay.

Then lightning stuck through your mind as a solution came to you, take her with! Truly it was an ingenious solution to all of your problems. Now how were you going to get her to follow you?

Your scales shivering idly as you contemplate how exactly you were going to do so. Sure you could just pick her up, but she was far less cooperative when she was awake, and more than willing to just jump out of your arms.

She was also much too big to carry in your jaws now, even the thought of carrying her weight in such a manner made both your neck and your jaw ache.

Perhaps just getting her to follow you? Would that work? Well you might as well try it.

Shaking yourself free from the sand pile you'd been laying in, you swerved you neck searching for your sisters no doubt sleeping form. You found her laying in shallow water. Hidden in mild shadows as she blowed bubbles in the water, her purple eyes watching in mild amusement as they popped.

Walking close enough to get her attention, Morada's purple eyes locking onto as soon as you entered her line of sight. A call for her to follow slipped from your jaws in unhurried rumble.

Your sister was next to you in a moment, her eyes alight with interest despite the manner in which you called her implying nothing important. Just a mild call that could be ignored if uninterested.

It made warmth pulse under your scales, as you nudged her away from the lagoon.

Once you were certain she would follow with no issue, you scented the air, searching for new scents, new things to see. This was going to be so very fun you knew, the instance a calming, soothing scent met your nose, along with a sharp flowery scent that made you sneeze along with countless others.

Now which one to follow?

Oinkus interupptus (Or Pink Meat interupt)
It takes but a moment to decide which scent to follow, but the decision itself was consuming your attention, enough to feel like it took week.

The calming soothing scent was the first to meet your nose, but now that you were paying special attention to it, was incredibly faint. So much so that i must be almost on the other side of your territory.

It might be a bit tiring for sister, but as long as you were there you had little doubt that everything would work out fine. So you started your trek with a single trill to your sister before marching off at a steady pace.

You had been in the silver fence for more than a week, and yet it's true size still astounded you as moved with an unhurried speed. Trailing the scent through oddly worn pathways and under fallen trees.

Making sure to pick the least demanding paths as you looked back to find your sister practically hugging your tail. Her eyes boring into your back with an uncanny focus, as you lead her through your enclosure.

Somehow even just having her follow you in this manner was breath taking.

However in the end you found what you were following soon enough.

Breaking through the trees, you found yourself in a grove of cyan flowers. The scent that had lured you hear however faint, was now overpowering as whispered soothing sensations your nose.

The cyan flowers were odd, uncurling in the sunlight from blue bulbs into stunning star shaped buds.

Even just the way they looked calmed you in some way, your ever present curiosity a choir that had been singing in your veins since birth was muffled. Still there, still singing, but it's ever present pulse was muffled behind the flower and it's scent.

In fact the flower seamed oddly delectable, it's wondrous scent making it seem ever so appetizing you could feel saliva drip from your jaws as you got closer. Your mouth opening wide around a flower as you prepared to devour it in one bite.

Before you could begin to enjoy this wonderful morsel, you were snapped from a haze you hadn't even noticed falling over your mind by a furiously squealed oink.

Suddenly your surroundings that had grown blurred by in attention snapped into focus, your sister was giving off a perpetual purr as she snuggled into a patch of the blue flowers. Her Scales making odd patterns that made your eyes hurt, even as she simply stayed in position, her breathing oddly shallow.

Another squeal burst through the meadow causing your sister to jump into the air, even as you snapped your head in the direction of pink Meat.

Confusing bubbled beneath your scales, you had already had the pink meat for today? Why was the Pink meat present? Based on the oinking, quite a bit of it too.

Bafflement overcame you as you looked toward your sister who was just as confused as you.

Wow this update fought me, I'm still not happy with it but whatever.

Confusing Meat, Broken Doors, and Old Scare Targets
The shear confusion at the oinked squeal had both you and your sister staring at each other in mutual confusion.

Why would their be pink meat now? You had already eaten your pink meat of the day and while gorging on another was very tantalizing idea. You simply weren't hungry, so their was no point.

A curious trill explained your intentions to your sister and soon you were shooting off through the lush scenery away from the Cyan flowers with your sister on your tail.

The trail is a blur of green leaves, and moving muscles as the Flowers are left in your dust. A strange ache starts to form in the back of your head as a haze you hadn't even noticed forming, begins to fade from your mind.

Your instincts blare a warning signal to never go back to the blue flowers again, about how dangerous they are pulses through you even as you slow your pace. Only coming to complete stop as you find the source of the squeaking.

A mass of Pink meat, so numerous you couldn't be bothered to count them, hanging around one of the odd silver doors attached to the fence. However while the pink meat was interesting in it's own way, the door was far more attention grabbing.

Mostly in that the small door the Pink meat are released from is bent beyond use, visibly bent inside the cage. Like something heavy had barged through it.

Your scales shiver in a tense fashion, as you look towards your sister, a sense of confirmation passing between you both.

The small door was fragile, something both you and your sister had learned on accident after accidentally running into it on a pink meat hunt. It had bent easily under your speed and weight at the time. It had been fixed quickly enough that your daily pink meat hadn't been missed the next day, and you hadn't bothered with it since it was now to small for either of you to go through.

But as you could see something had seen the value of breaking in, and you both had a good guess on what. If only based on the three indent in the warped metal. Indents that formed a familiar pattern.

It look like the Nubby one had come back.

And it had invaded your territory.

A low growl gurgled out of your throat as the implications solidified in your brain. Your sister following your example as you scented the air, a scent trail touching your senses.

Now, should you let the nubby one leave alive? Should you ignore it until the two legs retrieved it? Should you show it just how far above it your were?

So many choices burned behind your sapphire eyes as they shined with intellect.

Now which one to choose?

A Trail To Find, Blood To Follow
Your sister trilled a sound to make children cry, demanding the interloper be removed or killed.

You put a halt to that with a cold calculating bark, your sister automatically bowing to your judgment. First you would observe the Nubby One, and decide if it was either a threat to kill, a nuisance to scare away, or merely something to ignore.

But first you would have to find it.

Scenting the air once more, you locked your mind onto it's scent. Somehow the mixed smell of irritation/wrong/confusion/arrogance was almost easy to pick out from the random smells of your territory.

A grumbled call to follow dripped from your jaws, causing your sister to shiver her purple scales in confirmation. Then you were off, following the scent with a measured stalking gate that made little to no sound.

The scent itself was strong and barley faded giving a clear path to follow, only made even clearer as you stumbled on the Nubby ones trail. A path of tracks that was almost confused, sometimes making barely a mark closer to that of your sister when she planned an ambush than what you'd expect of the nubby one.

Other times, it was stomped with an aggressive feel as it pushed deeper into your territory. Breaking smaller trees and mushing the ground with intense sense arrogance like nothing would dare to follow it, and anything that did would die.

Nubby one clearly did not have a good sense of self preservation.

Something Morada Agreed with based upon her confused chirp, as she stared at the trail of matted grass and broken trees, a faint scent of blood clinging to some of the broken trees. The Scent of the Nubby Ones blood, cloyingly unnaturally sweet, killing any hunger the run here might have gathered.

You could feel how off this was, the Nubby One simply wasn't something that should hold this kind of arrogance. It pulsed under you scales, your blood thrumming with the notion that Creature of Nubby Ones kind should be shy? Yes that was right shy unless they had a herd, or were substantially bigger than their target.

Your shivered as a sense of wrongness, jumped through your internals like the sky fluff static, a subconscious growl of irritation leaking from between your teeth.

But you forced it down and followed trail further, until you found your target in a small area where the grass was slightly less tall. It was also noticeably close to the small grotto you had made your nest.

Nubby Ones scales had dulled from bright to muted orange, the brown markings even more subdued. But their was something odd with the Nubby one, it's scent switching constantly from confused to enraged as it charged a large tree.

The tree showing some minor damage from the nubby ones stubbornness, but mostly just covered in the blood that was leaking from Nubby ones head crest, it nubs having not changed at all other than growing to match it's size.

Not that it was anything substantial, still smaller than you by at least a foot yet bigger than your sister.

However none of that mattered, your eyes narrowing from within the tall grass you were crouching behind Only your decision.

A decision you had already made.
