Fun fact: the spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3 is a hybrid (barely, it would be very similar to what we would be if we had chosen to be barely hybrid)

I'm wondering if this experiment gives Hammond an interest in a Mythical Park?

Multi Tailed Foxes (Kitsune)
Horses with Narwhal Horns (Unicorn)
Horses with Wings (Pegasi)
Etc

Mutation Options/Explanation
Mutation options

All Mutations require you to reach 100% Mutation in their slot (By investing 100 Mutation Points) before you can select the mutation you want. x2 Options will require you to have reached 100% mutation twice in that slot, before you will acquire them, x3 will require you to reach 100% mutation three times before you can acquire them. (So on and so forth)

(Note: This means that you cannot just dump two hundred points into the Eye mutation slot and get telescopic vision. Instead once you reach 100% mutation and select it, it will begin to gestate. After reaching 100% mutation a second time (in the following vote) in the eye slot, then you would get telescopic vision.

(Note: Selecting an x2 option will lock it in for your next mutation point vote, and you must invest at least 5 mutation points in that particular slot until it reaches 100% a second time.

(Note: ? options signal that there are other Mutation available, but you are to young to develop them.

(Note: You may write in Mutations, however the author reserves the right to say no, or to modify them for quest balance.

Hopefully I explained this well enough, but feel free to ask questions.

So Dino In distress wins, as usual as your questions and I'll get to the writing thing.

Which mutation would eventually lead to Opposable Thumbs? Also, would Accurate Mimicry be a possible throat mutation? Like full-on copying voices?

I think the digitized camo fix is the obvious first thing to take a crack at; beyond that I'm particularly keen on trying to improve Azula's digestion so she can consume more stuff without worry about eating something that disagrees with her.

A Simple Proposition
A Simple Proposition

Ms. Lang was unusually nervous when John Hammond arrived at the office.

"Good morning, Mr. Hammond." She said. "Your 11 o'clock appointment is here."

Hammond looked at his secretary with concern.

"11 o'clock?" He asked. "I don't recall having an appointment at 11 o'clock."

"He's waiting in your office." Ms. Lang replied. She spoke with an overwhelmingly uneasy tension, as if she was terrified of getting in trouble with someone.

Hammond asked no more questions, opening the doors to his office and stepping inside. A man promptly rose from one of the chairs. He was a sharply dressed man in a pristine yet understated military uniform, topped by a pair of sunglasses that Hammond couldn't help but suspect were present to help create an air of intimidation.

"Mr. Hammond." The officer said with a cool but polite voice. "Colonel Weaving, Department of Defense."

"I don't care who you are." Hammond replied, holding his calm. "I'll kindly ask you to leave the building immediately, or else I'll have to call security."

"Let's not make this messy, shall we?" Weaving asked. "I'm just here on behalf of the D-o-D to offer InGen a simple proposition."

"The answer's 'no'." Hammond said without a moments hesitation.

"You haven't even heard what I have to say." Weaving said.

"I don't care." Hammond replied. "Answer's still 'no'."

"All I want is a moment of your time to discuss 'Azula'."

The name drop was practically a bomb, in its own way. Hammond looked at Weaving with a concerned glare.

"Why should that name mean anything to me?" Hammond asked.

"Please, Mr. Hammond." Weaving said. "Don't play dumb. It doesn't suit you."

"How do you know about Azula?" Hammond asked.

"We're the United States Government, Mr. Hammond." Weaving said with a glare that came just shy of sinister. "We know everything."

Still glaring at Colonel Weaving, John Hammond walked to his desk and sat down.

"You have five minutes before I have security escort you from the building." Hammond said.

"Animals have long been a staple of warfare." Weaving began. "Horses, dogs, we've even trained dolphins. Azula, however, she represents something else entirely. We believe she may represent the foundation for a new evolution in warfare."

"Her raw potential is incredible. Resilient, deadly, the ability to communicate, intelligent enough to be properly trained. About the only thing she's lacking is the ability to hold a gun."

"Mr. Hammond, we want to commission InGen to continue its work into these hybrids and give us a version of Azula that is more refined, can be mass produced, and…smaller. A more manageable size. We would of course provide the funding to continue the line of research that produced the first Azula, which I'm sure would benefit InGen's research beyond this one specimen. More importantly, if you could deliver what we're looking for, InGen would find itself in a very lucrative position indeed."

The smile that stretched across Colonel Weaving's face struck Hammond as particularly sinister. Even beyond his misgivings about what the man was proposing, his very presence left Hammond in a very uneasy state.

"The answer's still 'no'." Hammond said. "I've no interest in dirtying InGen's hands with weapons contracts. Our genetics research is supposed to improve the world, not spread death."

"Your idealism is commendable." Colonel Weaving said, his face turning cool and emotionless. "I wonder if your shareholders share your naive sentiments."

"How I run my company is none of your concern." Hammond said, his own words a chilling match for Weaving's.

Weaving reached into his coat and pulled out a business card, which he held up for display.

"I realize that we can come off as…intimidating." Weaving said. "It can give people the wrong impression, make them apprehensive about working with us."

Weaving placed the card on Hammond's desk.

"Take a few days, think it over." Weaving said. "Call us when you're ready to change your mind."

Weaving turned and moved for the door, stopping just before he left the room.

"Word of advice, Mr. Hammond." Weaving said, glancing back in Hammond's direction. "You would be well advised to remember that one way or another, Uncle Sam always gets what he wants."

Weaving flashed another sinister smile, then left the room.

Even gone, the chill of the Colonel's presence still lingered within InGen's headquarters.

Well shit. If this omake becomes canon, then we'll be dealing with Jurassic World bullshit decades ahead of schedule.

Oh crap! We've become the 'Blue' of this timeline thanks to our genetic potential.

A Dino In Crisis: Site B Personnel Interlude
Jebediah "Jeb" Oscarson had seven different engineering degrees. Each of them varying from electrical, to nuclear, and enough experience to render most men stunned at nearly eighty years old.

He figured being the Head of Maintenance for Ingen's new research facility would be good form of retirement. Enough exercise to keep him healthy at heart, enough of a puzzle to keep his brain from slipping between his ears, and entertaining enough to keep the restlessness from setting in.

One thing to be certain, it lived up to his expectation of all three, even if he did have to keep pointing out obvious holes to the lunatics designing the enclosures. Honestly his job was to fix things an tell other people to fix things, not yell at people that their idea was stupid and their ancestors were frowning at their limited intelligence.

Really, it was like they never heard of Murphy's law. Well no, it was more like they had heard of it, and started taunting him because why not?

Because taunting Murphy was a good way to get eaten on this island, not that the idiots seamed to realize that.

As result Jeb had found himself filling the place of unpaid security inspector because these people were geniuses at almost getting themselves and everyone around them killed. So he put in all of his well earned experience placing redundancy after redundancy and making sure nothing was about to explode and kill everyone for miles, to work.

After the third time his 'Suggestions' saved someones life they learned to listen to him, and he figured if things kept going his way. He might even have this place Osha compliant by the time he hits his last legs.

It was of course just as he was thinking this and discussing further precautions, an general work safety that he heard it.

He was in enclosure 17-PTK, a large three story warehouse that had been designed with the idea of keeping the one of the most dangerous animals he'd ever seen trapped inside. The Building had been gutted from it's original design, with any center flooring being torn out and the roof replaced with skylights. Titanium fencing as strong as they could make it, anchored to ground by enormous steel alloy poles held firmly in place by concrete specialty mixed for maximum durability.

All of which was surrounded by reinforced walls, and various security mechanisms to prevent anything from leaving the building without a key card. While still allowing the eggheads to come in and study whenever they wanted with catwalks an other things built in just so they can look at it from odd angles.

Jeb was quite proud of the place really, he'd spend more than his moneys worth just talking with the construction crew and the architect. Practically pouring his soul just to make this place just a little bit safer. Something the people he had been working with at the time appreciated greatly.

At least, he'd though they appreciated, either that or someone had played skippy and cut corners considering he was pretty sure the fence was suppose to be rooted to ceiling to prevent anything from climbing over.

So the fact that he was staring up at a rather small dinosaur, a bit bigger than your average German Shepard, hanging at the top of the fence as it slurred out curses that would curdle milk.

He had feeling that he'd spoke to soon about having this place up to standard.

Far, Far, to soon.

Now how was he going to get the damn thing down? and who was he going to have to yell at for this mess?

I like Jeb, he's fun.

One, minor issue, at least IMO:

The US can't Nationalize InGen, nor would they be able to poach Researchers and the like, due to both NDAs and Non-Compete contracts.

What they could do is utilize the patents that InGen must have for their Gene Mod technology that they used for the Dinosaurs, and then pay a Given Sum (Set by the Government,) or even pass a law letting anyone use the Patent for free, though InGen would still hold the patents to the things made using the technology.

Though, ngl, the Government would be better off Gene-Modding conventional animals instead of Dinos, something like a German Shepard, since they're already been evolved for the kind of work Mr. General is hoping to use us for, and if you, say, increase a German Shepard's strength and senses, you would get a much more capable Military Working Animal. Though I could totally see us being used as Deathclaws by the Military, as a form of IFV/APC Hunter.

It would be hilarious if all of our 'Desendants' were also Titanic-sized, and none of the Scientists can figure out why.

Which mutation would eventually lead to Opposable Thumbs? Also, would Accurate Mimicry be a possible throat mutation? Like full-on copying voices?
Opposable Thumbs on thier own would be something like a x5 mutation, to make that more manageable, increased dexterity, retractable claws, ?, would each remove the cost by one to make it an x2 option.

Thread marked and points added, good omake even if it doesn't qualify as canon.

so this is my hasty analysis on mutations

eye mutations
Well, the truth is, thanks to our t-rex DNA, we will have a very good vision so I don't see it necessary in the short and medium term

nose mutation
Also thanks to our t-rex DNA we will have an excellent sense of smell so in the short and medium term I do not see it necessary

mutation of the mouth
Well, there are some things that would interest us but they would be more in the medium term (reinforced teeth could interest us but since we will not have hostile contact with humans for 5 years, I do not see it necessary)
but if I would like to know what would Unhinged jaw, Locking Jaw be and what benefits (and disadvantages would it bring)?

skin mutations
we are also quite tough even by dinosaur standards so for now I don't see it necessary (but I would like to hear scenarios where resistance to heat, cold, cutting, and resistance to forcefulness could serve a lot or could evolve in the future)
I don't see many uses for touch sensitivity (someone knows what it would be useful for or what it could be in the future)

heart mutation
Well, thanks to the advantage we chose, I don't see it necessary (unless in the future we plan to constantly move between the islands or we plan to go further than the five deaths) although it could also improve our regeneration even more in the future.
but still I do not see use in the short and medium term

lung mutation
Well, until now I only think that it will help us if we plan to go further than the five deaths. so I don't see any use for it in the short and medium term either

bone mutation slot
Well, everything looks very useful and interesting, but in the medium term I see that only greater bone durability and gradual reinforcement could serve us

I don't know what use it would be for us to be able to generate more blood (regeneration?)

digestion mutation slot

Well, it could be of interest to us in the short term since it will allow us to eat more things (and spend more time without eating I think?) without worrying about getting sick (as happened to the triceratops in the first movie and so that we can eat things like the cell phone that the spinosaurus from the third movie ate)

camouflage
what i think we will fix first before we get anything else

hands / claws
Well, I think that in the short and medium term it will not serve us almost anything (I think we are mortal enough as we are but the vast majority could interest us for the long term) but we would be interested in the greater dexterity
but because of our size, I don't see any use for the retractable claw

arms
we would be interested in the medium term if our arms are longer (we could run on all fours, grab things, build, etc)

legs
Well, we would also be interested in the medium / short term to be faster

line
because in the short term we would be interested in the spines in the tail (to be able to attack with the tail)
the greater flexibility and agility is only for the tail or for the whole body (even if it were for only the body we would still be interested in being able to use it in a more skillful way than just balancing it but it would be in the long term if the improvements are only for the tail )

So in order:

Actually, the eye mutations will be fairly beneficial, and despite the T-rex base, you didn't take that as an choice/write in during character creation so while you have pretty good vision it's nothing spectacular.

The nose options are actually pretty spectacular in the long run, and once again since it wasn't chosen during Character gen, isn't anything truly impressive at the moment.

As for mouth options, Unhinged Jaw would allow you to mimic a snake in that you be able to eat things bigger than you really should be able to, and Locked Jaw would be similar to certain breeds of dog that once they bite something they lock their jaw. As a result the only thing that will get them off you would be either them ripping off a chunk of your flesh or if it decides you aren't worth the effort and unlocks their jaw on their own.

As for the five year thing, who said anything about no human assailants? Also, I said you'd be released alongside the rest of the Site B dinos when the hurricane came in. Something that is scheduled to happen in about a year and a half at this point I think.

Your skin will be in it's current state about as strong as your average dino, (Since your a child at the moment it's a bit more fragile.) You do have regen so damage isn't particularly concerning but otherwise your skin is average defensively without any mutation. Touch sensitivity would provide a boost to dexterity, and allow you to feel things a titanic being such as you otherwise wouldn't be able to, like it a smaller animal was climbing on your back.

Heart mutations will have benefits to things like stamina, and provide minuscule benefits to your regen since its already so strong. But taking them will allow for shorter periods of rest and longer periods of activity.

Lung Mutations will (In general) also provide stamina benefits, longer times underwater, and a way around breathing hazards.

Blood generation means it would take longer for you to bleed out, allowing you to fight longer should anything actually manage to make the damage stick.

You hit the digestion benefits on the head, so not much to say here.

Nothing to say about camo

Retractable claws would increase dexterity slightly, and lowers the cost of a couple other mutations

Again nothing to say about the arms, or the legs

I'm not sure what agility boost your talking about? There should only be increased dexterity and increased flexiblity. With dexterity allowing you to be better at using it, and flexibility meaning you can move it more. Sure there would a small agaility boost from them both, but not one that would specifically give it as anything other than a small benefit.

Do we have the original movie's thing of "don't move, T-Rex can only see movement"?
I do not think, it would have come out as a disadvantage (even if it was a ??? in the character sheet) also later they fixed it by saying that this was due to a defect when creating rexy (that's why it does not work again in any other t-rex of the saga) and the movement view appears as a mutation so ... I don't know? but I hope not, it would be a great disadvantage

I just discovered that it is tetracomancia (being able to see more colors)

I'm guessing if we took Neck and Throat mutations we'd see improvement in our ability to speak?

Possibly Misc. could be used for brain upgrades, but I'm gonna wait to see what Vault mentions about it first before I start thinking about that.
