Sector I – Interact (Jin Hansou)
You make sure to set aside a period of time to interview Jin. Normally, you'd have less of a workload, but with Maya gone you have to do that much more paperwork.
)( EXTRA EVENT – JIN HANSOU I )(
Sector II – Produce – 3, 1 = 4 (FAIL)
You set Sector II to work producing new material, only for Nailo to return with news that one of the machines has busted. Looks like you'll need to pay to replace it.
(-1 Resource)
Sector III – Design (Stunner Attachment) – 5, 6 = 11 (PURE SUCCESS)
Geta-Pi-Theta informs you that adapting the stun blaster into an under-barrel attachment will be easy enough. He has the design on your desk for approval by the next day. Go him.
(Stunner Attachment added to BUILD)
Sector IV – Investigate (Chimera) – 6, 5 = (PURE SUCCESS + ABILITY BONUS)
Michelle delivers the report promptly, and this one is a bit of a doozy. You'd give her a raise if she actually accepted money for her work.
REPORT: Chimera, stylized as χ-MERA, proclaims themselves to be a 'Bio-Evolutionary Research and Progression Organization' that seeks to 'revolutionize the human genome and transcend the limits of the double-helix,' whatever the fuck that means. In practice, Chimera has had their hands behind a half-dozen really shady companies and organizations worldwide, all of whom have conducted massively unethical human experimentation. You've heard about some of them; Zamano Biotech and the Kuramoto Children come to mind. You wouldn't be surprised if the JSDF used some of their tech when they were doing the experiments Odessa was involved in.
Chimera is the sort of nightmare organization that gives transhumanism a bad name. Their goal, given their pattern of behavior, is to forcibly enhance the human race one way or another, ethics and conscience be damned. They've also dabbled in a few other biology-related fields like bio-terrorism and pharmacology. They also have a bad habit of loaning out biologically-enhanced super-soldiers and actual monsters to third-world dictators and petty warlords in exchange for a hefty paycheck.
The organization's goals often lead it to targeting research labs, hospitals and other similar places for sabotage or theft. Unique genetic specimens and advanced biotech also draw their attention for kidnapping and exploitation. They've been known to use small-scale biological weaponry when they want to make a point or wipe out their competition. When they attack, they attack with obviously-enhanced soldiers that have been codenamed 'Spartoi' and even augmented attack animals. What makes them very dangerous is that their agents look normal until they decide to hulk out. Expect foes with superhuman physical capabilities.
BONUS: While the actual brains behind the organization remains hidden, their major agents have been identified, though only in what can best be described as their 'war forms.' These include a muscular, seemingly invulnerable lion-man, a many-headed and venomous dragon-man, and an enormous three-headed dog.
Sector V – Train (Subaru) – 2, 6 = 8 (FLAWED SUCCESS)
After the run-in with the Nightmare Kingdom, you send Subaru to work with Falter for a while. The wizard instructs Subaru in a variety of magical and spiritual topics. While it's unlikely she'll be able to cast spells, she does learn how to apply the knowledge she gains and even demonstrates her own skills by pickpocketing Falter.
(+1 EXP to Subaru)
(* SUBARU LEVEL UP! Ability Unlocked: Light-Fingered *)
Sector VI – Heal (Subaru)
Looks like Subaru's well on the mend. A bit more time to recover and she should be fully healed.
(Subaru recovers 1 Health)
Sector VII – Train (Naoko) – 1, 3 = 4 (FAIL)
Odessa actually comes to you after her practice with Naoko and tells you she kind of feels bad about throwing the girl around on the mat.
(No XP for you.)

TURN 9 – DRAMA PHASE
EXTRA EVENT 1
Your interview with Jin occurs almost a day after you get him inducted into the base. Thankfully he doesn't seem to hold you punching him in the nose against you.
You watch him for a while before you approach him, trying to better gauge his attitude. He's similar to Yukimura in some ways; neither of them seem particularly chatty or sociable around the other Heroes you've recruited. There are differences though; Yukimura seems to hold himself apart out of caution, while Jin seems more like he's observing the others and looking for moments of weakness. Still intense, but in a more calculating way.
You do eventually call Jin up to your office. He waves off your offer of coffee or tea and sits with excellent posture.
"So," you open with, "getting comfortable here at the base?"
He nods. "It's not as secure as I'd like, but it'll do. Thank you."
"Consider your opinion duly noted."
"I assume you've called me in to talk about the SAD?" He gets to the point very quickly.
"Partly," you reply as you swirl your coffee. "I try to make a habit of getting to know my subordinate… you don't mind if I call you that, do you?"
He shrugs. "I've been called worse. What do you want to know?"
