Also, I don't know if this has been suggested or not but why don't we use our matter manipulation ability to make us look less abyssal? Would really help with diplomacy and trust even if Maya spills the beans on our original form. We could always make up some super cliche story about "giving up our anger" or just go with typical answer of MSSB

Maybe? I mean, there is the possibility we may FAIL our roll, leading to very bad consequences. (extra limbs, deformities, loss of sanity, etc etc)

We should only need to level it up a bit more to be able to do it with less of a risk. We should also try to improve Pearl's proficiency with it at some point so we can get even MORE resources when we get a 50 or higher or a manipulation roll.

Also: wouldn't the bigger and higher maintenance shipgirls (battleships like Yamato and the different carriers) use more resources than the smaller ships? Seems like they would consume at least a full point by themselves...
 
We could, but that doesn't mean we should. I mean, we treated Maya okay, and proved we are a step above the Abyss, as well as our ability to summon or outright create shipgirls would make us an incredibly valuable asset to the allied powers. The brass may read Maya's report, and then bend over backwards to get us on their side.

Also, if the game was anything, they were heavy on the resource consumption.

Edit: Not to mention, if we can just change our appearance, I'd imagine it would raise alarm bells with the brass, what with a possible "infiltration" unit.

Well I mean we don't want to permanently look like an abyssal right?

What I meant was that there was a SIZABLE difference in resource consumption between the smaller and larger ships both in game and real life, plus you don't want to have any sad mental images of a starving shipgirl now do you.
Citing maxim 7:If the food is good enough, the grunts will stop complaining about the incoming fire. We should probably upgrade the mess hall or try to get one of the girls to open a restaurant so as to improve morale and avoid any food riots .Also we need make sure and stockpile ice cream, we're gonna need it for the destroyers.

edit: we should also summon some harbor masters and dock workers to improve shipbuilding and get some engineers to help with constructing additional defenses

Hmm, alright, we can try changing our appearance later. I don't want to start pulling new abilities out of our ass when we are still an anomaly. I'd rather we stay "low key" in our innovations, until we have officially been reinstated. That way, ONI won't be scratching their heads over what that abyssal is going to do next. Until then, I'm all for expanding our abilities to serve as a forward base. I'm no expert, but our location may be strategically placed as to serve as a stepping stone into Abyssal territory. We may also want to start gearing up for some naval invasions in the future.

We are definitely going to need those upgrades then to set ourselves up as a staging center

also we should work on getting patrols set up so we don't get caught off guard by an attack
 
I doesn't even have to be ship girls, we can use flying boat's and/or blimps to serve as our aerial patrol group. Considering we just dominated two fleet groups of abyssals, we can expect incursions any day now.

Right, I checked, we DO have long-ranged radar, according to turn 10 results. In the mean time, we can reasonably expect an envoy to arrive soonish. One of the things we can do to net some good will? give up that nuke we got to them. Seriously, the US tries to keep track of it's nukes, especially during times of war. Someone messed up if that nuke ended up in our hands.

I'd suggest disarming it first but if our luck finally fails us we would be screwed


Also we should construct an embassy for our and foreign diplomats

Edit: we should also talk to the admiralty about about pre-emptively adding another rule to The List that expressly forbids Nagato from seeing pearl as the resulting Super Nagamon transformation could irreparably damage the base

Also we should probably get some civilian stuff set up to deal with possible tourism and re-settlement of the islands with at least some small hotels (no disrespect to the Yamato class under construction) and restaurants plus the creation of a docking area for civilian ships


Edit:we should also probably sell some of the extra materials we make to the Japanease to help them with their shortages and get us some cash we can use


Edit2:actually while I'm at it I might as well ask...Yo Dinesh what would the success chance be for us to try and alter our body to look like a shipgirl version of ourself?

Worry about tourism and trade AFTER we figure out where we stand in the military hierarchy. I mean, is the US navy going to send us a superior officer, are they going to garrison a force to watch over us, or are they just going to leave us in charge of ourselves and give us broad based objectives or missions?
 
I would think they'd want to send an USAF officer, because that's what we would be familiar with. I think we would probably be a numbered air force under the Pacific air forces.

We are basically on the other side of the world now and Hawaii was already evacuated so we could do a few other things as well:
1.try to get recognized as our own country
2.Negotiate to become a part of Japan
3.attempt to 'purchase' Hawaii from the US which would probably go through because of the things I stated at the beginning

Also the island will probably become a military staging post for the area so the construction of at least a few eateries to give options to personnel and adding a couple of buildings to accommodate visiting fleets wouldn't be amiss

You forget that while we were ORIGINALY an air base we also now have Pearl and that our navy makes up the majority of our forces

Hmmm, I don't know about THAT (becoming our own country). We were a US military base, and unless the US has done something to completely alienate Michell, we were going to rejoin the US military. Part of the reason why I was against the Tourism aspect.
