"Of course, both Barthomeloi and Matthew have greatly misunderstood Kirschtaria," Da Vinci noted. "Barthomeloi thinks he's a proper leader, and a stone cold aristocrat. That is… half-right. Matthew thinks he's Marisbilly Animusphere's heir, and as cold and cruel as the former Director. Again, half-right. He is a good leader, and would help with shifting a great deal of work away from Romani. Unlike Olga Marie, he was recognized as heir to the Animusphere style of Magecraft, and inherited the Director's ideals to save and improve the world."
"Marisbilly's chief lackey. The favored son, even if he's more adopted than anything." I snorted. "Really, if my head hadn't been up my own ass that would have been a major sign that Olga Marie wasn't nearly as bad as she tried to pretend. That, or we had enough common ground to coexist if I backed off a little."
Oh man, none of you have the slightest idea of what hell you're in for. Kirsch is not just a dork, not just a stone-faced social disaster on legs, and not just so-friendly-it-hurts, he's a Servant Enabler. I half want him to be next in line just so I can see everyone's expectations crash and burn.

"Assuming nobody tries to overindulge." Emiya paused. "I set an extra pan of each aside for Matthew and Artoria."
Considering how much Artoria can pack away when she get's any oppertunity, I'd have thought you would have set two pans aside for her.
"I was going to find a workshop and just… see what happened."
Good thing more Magi aren't around. They'd probably be trying to tear down the workshop to get their mitts on even the least of the wonders he'll be making.
Shotaro narrowed his eyes. "Your mother and Asako both agreed to it." He gave a deep sigh. "Even if it was only for a few days, exposing you to the Clock Tower was a mistake."
Exposing anyone to the Clock Tower is a mistake.
The three men turned to see an utterly haggard Lord El-Melloi II with circles under his eyes as Asako followed at his heels.

"Please. Please, take your spawn and hand her off to someone else," the man begged Shotaro.
Riiiight. Looks like Shotaro but takes after Rin in attitude.

Only instead of being manic for gems, she's all about becoming a better Magi.
"-so teach me already!"
Defanitely got her stubbornness from both sides of the family.
"What is it you'd be doing?" Ritsuka asked.

"I found the new Super Robot Wars in one of the lounges," El-Melloi II began.
..........El-Melloi, maybe, just maybe, you should have thought of a better excuse than that.
For a moment, no one spoke. The silence was heavy.

Ritsuka turned to Asako with closed eyes and a pleasant smile. "Asako?"

"Yes, Ritsuka?" Asako folded her hands behind her back, looking for all the world like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.

"Enjoy your free lessons."

As Asako squealed, El-Melloi II weakly protested, and Shotaro let out a surprised guffaw… Emiya realized what he'd overlooked.

It was true that Ritsuka was Shotaro's child in many ways, similarities that made their company enjoyable to the Counter Guardian.

However.

Ritsuka was, in fact, Rin's child as well.
Because yeah, that is so not going to fly with Ritsuka.
Fou sat next to me in the otherwise empty bed, an envelope in his mouth.
I'm not sure I want to know just how Scathach managed to convince Fou to play mailman.
"You used to hiss like a cat and use what shape changing magecraft you had to claw at people whenever they got too close."
Wow, he has gotten a lot better over the years.
Assuming we both live through this, we can look into addressing the many wrongs humans visited upon each other through the ages.
You're both going to need immortality if you even want to reach a 10% completion rate for all that.
"He'll be fine. I've still got bacon to share; I'm just not giving him all of it." I gave him a stern look.

He tucked his nose under his tail and narrowed his eyes before feigning sleep.
Still haven't forgiven him for the rice ball I see.
Roman dropped his hand. "That. Sounds on brand."
Yes Roman, this is your life now. Sad to say but you have a lot of karma to work through resulting in being stuck in command of this gaggle of lunatics for an indeterminate length of time.
"That's called common sense. The longer you withhold bad news from a person, especially one as volatile as you make Matthew out to be, the worse it's going to go." Asako rolled her eyes. "Duh."
Truly this is the most vanishingly rare of all traits among Magi. Rin was correct to pick her daughter to carry on the legacy. Hopefully this trait can carry down to the next generation.
"Yeah! They've got tons of movies and series pre-saved for viewing."
Right somebody drag Artoria in pronto. She needs to be shown Monty Python. :V
And as a bonus, Fou can get some more ideas on how to deal with Merlin from the Rabbit of Caerbannog.
Mash sighed, then donned her armor as she walked. "Is there a chance she'll stop helping?"
Could be worse. She could be halping instead.
"Oversized. Good for wide swings that use centrifugal force, poor for precision strikes. At least, that's the initial thought."
This is probably really going to help Mash. Becuase while Artoria has seen Galahad fight, she isn't a teacher. Scathach on the other hand? She is the teacher.
"It sounds lonely, too," I murmured.
No Matthew, do not give in to your (potentialy Morgan and/or general Fae-inherited) temptations to meddle and/or ship. Scathach will make you regret it, thoroughly.
"Ah. There seems to be a small pseudo-Singularity forming that we need to take care of tomorrow." Medusa smiled a little. "Due to the nature of it, we've determined it's not a threat - but a Grail is there nonetheless, and obtaining it will help with our own goals."

"On Halloween? Really?" Ritsuka sighed.
Halloween huh? Will Mash end up dressed as a 'Dangerous Beast' due to shenanigans?
Idol Duet at Castle Cachtice!
Elizabeth Bathory (and guest)'s Halloween Bash!
So who's Bathory's co-singer/challenger, Astolfo?

And Roman's going to be going nuts that he can't be there in person.

I had this horrible (wonderful?) thought.

What if the <Guest> is Magi*Mari? Alter Ego-class?

(i want Romani vs Kirsch: the Fandom Wars!)
...

Seeing as Magi☆Mari is Merlin trolling Solomon... That would make Alter-Ego Magi☆Mari a female Merlin in a magical girl outfit...

I don't know how I should feel about this.

Well, if Kirschtaria is the one who gets rezzed, and Magi☆Mari is indeed the guest like folks speculate, then I suspect it'll end up with Kirschtaria showing off that despite Matthew's opinion of him, he's actually just as much of a dork as the rest of Chaldea. (Not as much of one as Astolfo though. he's arguably the reigning High King of the Dorks.)

FTFY.

Astolfo is more of a silly troll.

Laugh and roll with it, maybe? It's not the weirdest genderbend Chaldea encountered.

Thinking of her as Proto Merlin might help.

No that's not the same at all; Prototype Merlin is a girl yes, but she's also not a dickwizard.

This would still be the dickwizard, just in magical girl form instead of bishonen wizard form.

Perils of going to sleep almost immediately after an update...

So the other 'idol' is Marie. Her materials describe her current 'self' as an idol, she has alluring nightingale as a skill, etc.

On the one hand, I'm glad to see everyone so pumped for Kirsch. On the other, please remember that 'best suited to oncoming Singularity' is the primary qualifier, so don't get your heart too set on him. Also recall prior WoG posts I've made regarding the subject.

Septem will be a doozy. Halloween will be a one-chapter blitz of slapstick and heartwarming, assuming I can hold myself back from injecting ~drama~ for a change.

Yeah. I'm also starting to worry about what could possibly require Romulus=Quirinus to appear so early. Because Morgan's lines regarding the "Greatest Version of the Founder" likely mean that.
In this case, it is actually Il Hassan-i Sabah the first. The Old Man of the Mountain, and the very first recorded assassin. Grand class servants are either the ur example or personify it to the point of their face is who the entirety of humanity thinks of. BB technically qualifies for Grand Moon Cancer for example. But, the founder comment is because he was the first Hassan. Which includes Cursed Arm, Serenity, and Hundred Faced. They are all his proteges and heirs. They are all vastly less terrifying than the man who can induce Death on a goddess of life.

A world where Merlin, of all people, was the straight man.
I'm just going to go hide in my bunker. And post Fou as a guard or something.
If this was some grand gambit to restrain your freedom, it failed miserably.
Oh it absolutely did, mainly because I'm pretty sure Wodime would probably let Matthew do his thing out of sheer necessity.
Idol Duet at Castle Cachtice!
Elizabeth Bathory (and guest)'s Halloween Bash!
I get the feeling Matthew and Wodime are going to be the only ones that actually enjoy these things. Something to bond over! Luckily for the rest of Chaldea, who will probably not have to do these events.

While an interesting proposal, no.

Romulus founded Rome, and we got his 'bound' version for OG Septem. Therefore his Greatest Form would be Romulus=Quirinus, or the Grand Lancer candidate.

I thought about letting that one lie, but I don't want people to get their hopes up seeing as Gramps is such a beloved character.

Oh, so your still focusing on Septem when it barely needed a Grand class instead of Babylonia which required a genuine full powered Grand servant before anything else was done with it. Because Tiamat is that strong.

Yes? I've said multiple times out of text and hinted at in text that this isn't the original Septem. Things will be bad enough to warrant a Grand, if only just.

The locations of the singularities are the same. The plot will differ to varying degrees based on what I saw fit to add and take away.

Septems going to be nuts! Lev, Romulus-Quirinus which means there is a chance for a beast to show up, something that requires Ophelia's BS eye which means sigurd will show up as well, I'm quivering with anticipation lol.

Blink just wondering do you have any plans to include the last emperor of rome Lucius Tiberius in the future?

I don't have plans for him, no. My list of Servants is flexible enough, but some I need for plot (or because I like them), and it's a little too close to the start of Septem for me to deviate from the cast I have in mind. Sorry :(

Its fine was just curious cause I was just reading up on roman mythos and nasu wiki to see what servants could appear in septem only to stumble onto that badass. Still though really looking forward to the halloween chapter 😁

So I realize that it is from another FGO insert, but I like the idea of introducing Bathory to Macross. If she wants to be an idol so bad put the ultimate goal in front of her.

Elizabeth Bathory Interlude:

A team of Liz, Kirsch and Roman making an idol video: Liz as the singer/star, Kirsch as the manager, and Roman as the expect!
