Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

I missed this, and no. There was one hilarious roll where we got something like a 4 and they got a 1, or thereabouts, but the Devil Bee gameplay was always to draw out a large number of cultivators, beat them and slaughter them in battle, and crack fortifications while there was no big roaming support force. Had they succeeded in stackwiping our first army, I would've needed to make a new map for new defenses, and the war would likely be ongoing in Turn 5.

Given it's late in the turn it won't be mandatory this turn, but it will be next turn.

If you write a Good Seed and want an omake reward from now on, please enter your Good Seed's name, a link to the first omake (or all of them if you want to, but at least the first) omake you wrote this turn, and the bonus you requested.

If you're doing anything different - like trying to make Formations for the Clan, or going into a Secret Realm, or the like, please note it in the notes column.

As I do the Good Seed report, I'll use the Reward Given column to ensure people are correctly getting the rewards they ask for. As the number of Good Seeds and omake explode, the former 'just read through 'em and write stuff' solution is coming apart at the seams.

The initial invasion was 100k, with somewhere between 10-30k worth of reinforcements of various kinds (that may have been Devil Bees leaving and coming back, it's difficult to measure attrition/reinforcements versus cultivators temporarily leaving the battlefield) coming in.

Peak Golden Devil deployment was 90k, up from around 3k in the region overall. This will be reduced to around 30k or so in the primary fortresses over the next few years, and slowly wound down towards initial defense status as the trials approach.

So at most they peak around a million, and if this campaign took out around 50k optimistically that's not quite a proper decimation but its close enough for government work.

If you can you should also lock the Rewards Given column only to yourself, though I don't know how to do that in google sheets unfortunately.

It has been several months since his journey to the lands of the Golden devil clan, Diomedes was clad in the robes of an outer disciple or as the legion sergeant called it a trainee.
He was sitting in his tent after the grueling training of the day, a quill clutched in his hand writing letter to be sent back to his home.

"Dear Mother, I hope this letter finds you in good health and in great safety.
How is father? is he still trying to break towards the ninth level of qi condensation?
I have arrived safely at the golden devil outpost with the rest of the disciples and even managed to pass the exams and join their ranks."

At this Diomedes felt a smile spread itself across his lips, true the exam he spoke of were merely the first out of many designed to weed out those hopefuls who didn't have any talent for cultivation
but still, surely it wasn't wrong for him to feel pride for it.

"After our arrival, we were given our accommodations where we then lied down for a fruitful sleep"

Diomedes winced as he recalled how they were woken that day, having a bucket of water thrown at you at the crack of dawn with the disciples in charge of their training screaming at you wasn't an experience he wished to repeat anytime soon.
luckily it only happened thrice more and only one of those was because of him.

"We were then spread out and put under the expert tutelage of our senior brothers on the finer points of cultivation".

Diomedes was running towards the finish line, the competition has taken the better part of the week and nearly the entirety of his strength,but the first place and the prize were surely going to be his.
he would get spirit stone that was promised to the winner.
as his legs crossed the finish line a flash of light shone and he found himself near one of his fellow disciples who has fallen into a trap early in the race.

He could then hear the voice of the legionnaire in charge of the contest calls out"Congratulations to the winners of the contest, but who said the contest is over once there is a victor?
This contest shall end only once all contestants have crossed the finish line and not a moment before"

Diomedes chuckled at the memory, they have ended up taking another three weeks before they managed to track everyone down and another two before they managed to get through all of the traps and obstacles that were put in their path.
At one point he could have sworn that the legionnaires were adding more traps and obstacles as they advanced, as he didn't remember encountering those tamed beasts the first time around.

But the experience did bring them all closer becoming sworn brothers and even helped them temper their minds and bodies all in the name of their newfound hatred for their seniors.

"I truly believe that with time I will be able to bring great honor and face to our family and gain great strength here."

in this part he is writing back home after a few months in what i imagine the clan equivalent of boot camp is converted to xianxia flavor.

I think that since the Google Sheet is replacing Goals, you might wanna set " Researching the Oasis Formation " in Notes so the Fate roll takes it into account (That is if my interpretation of how Notes work is accurate)

Mmm, could be a couple of things. Optimistically, it could just be them trying to soften up our fortifications for the coming Trials, with the intention of letting the Trials do the job of crippling us for them. Much less optimistically, it could be, as you said, the Palace softening us up with the Devil Bees so that they can do the real damage in a second wave themselves. Even more pessimistically, it could be them softening us up for the coming Trials, with the intention of striking as soon as the Trials are over and we're even further weakened. On the extremely optimistic side, we might not be the target at all, and they wanted to break the Devil Bees on our fortifications so that the Palace can sweep in and wipe out the remaining Devil Bees with ease. I uh, wouldn't exactly bet any drachma on that last one though, with the heavens actively conspiring against us.

If the Trials hit us hard this year, then the Palace might just decide to outright launch an attack on us. An attack I'm honestly not sure we could survive, with how much we've been slowly ground down by attrition in recent times.

Yeah.

From a Righteous Power perspective, weakening the two Demonic Powers that can threaten the Verdant South is a pretty reasonable move. Devil Bees martially and they've been causing all those problems, us through economic pressure.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Sorrowful Blacksmiths and Seven Divine Saber Palace were in cahoots, the Sabers because they hate our guts and the Sorrowful Blacksmiths because they share a border with both of us. They're also kind of a buffer state between the Sabers and us.

We came out okay in this fight with the Bees, better than they did I think, so I'm hopeful any ire from the Verdant South will be aimed at them first. Because you can always rely on the Righteous powers to fuck over the Demonic ones.

We might be able to, but they probably wouldn't attack alone is the big issue, they might rope in the Blacksmiths as well. Which would be urgh.

The more i think of it, the more i realize that it was the right decision to go for a stalemate. This way when the Devil Bees leave it would be without a huge loss to their forces, but a huge loss in terms of resources spent.

So the best way for them to recover the resources would be to raid far and wide in the south which are unlikely to be as fortified as us. Not only building up even more ire with the Righteous cultivators, but also laying the seeds for if we can get the truth out.

I mean ideally the Strength Purity Sect get some losses and so where our diplo ties with them are decent enough for us to send the evidence through, they can smack the Saber palace a bit. Unlikely, but if it happens... Oh boi oh boi!

The more i think of it, the more i realize that it was the right decision to go for a stalemate. This way when the Devil Bees leave it would be without a huge loss to their forces, but a huge loss in terms of resources spent.

So the best way for them to recover the resources would be to raid far and wide in the south which are unlikely to be as fortified as us. Not only building up even more ire with the Righteous cultivators, but also laying the seeds for if we can get the truth out.

Ehhhh, expecting a Righteous Sect to take action against another Righteous Sect for our sake is a bit...I'm sure they don't take a great deal of issue with working with us when it's convenient, but if they saw the opportunity to wipe us out or take our resources I doubt they'd kick up much of a fuss.

Yeah, Cultivator politics are very black and white. "Fuck anyone who doesn't play by our rules of engagement, that exist to both limit escalation and also limit shifts in rank" along with "But we'll descend on you like a pack of locusts at the first sign of weakness."

I really, really, really genuinely like how our Demonic status has been portrayed despite in many other ways being the paragons of righteous behaviour. This was always the intent, but it's great to see it so consistently shown off. In a way it's a sort of fundamental arrogance that's our biggest weakness even as it's our greatest source of strength.

Because, you know, things would have been a lot easier if we just played ball with the Righteous Path rules. But we also wouldn't have survived this long with those limitations.
