New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

Alright, I'm gonna try and get out another omake before the end of this turn, lets hope the dice gods are favourable this turn

Mmm, could be a couple of things. Optimistically, it could just be them trying to soften up our fortifications for the coming Trials, with the intention of letting the Trials do the job of crippling us for them. Much less optimistically, it could be, as you said, the Palace softening us up with the Devil Bees so that they can do the real damage in a second wave themselves. Even more pessimistically, it could be them softening us up for the coming Trials, with the intention of striking as soon as the Trials are over and we're even further weakened. On the extremely optimistic side, we might not be the target at all, and they wanted to break the Devil Bees on our fortifications so that the Palace can sweep in and wipe out the remaining Devil Bees with ease. I uh, wouldn't exactly bet any drachma on that last one though, with the heavens actively conspiring against us.
All of which are bad for us. Honestly, i gotta give props for the sheer chutzpah it takes to go " hey, i know we're both still wounded from ganking each other, but how about you mosey along and hit those Golden Devils. " Saber Palace is appearing a the archetype Righetous in name only Faction. The ones in Xianxia that are on that side because of the lack of opposition to their actions by the masses.

Personally, my suspicions are along the lines of Saber Palace trying to acquire Karma like the Trial participants. They might have found a way to petition the heavens to grant them the same thing, which makes going after us worth it for them.

I mean it clearly isn't for our crappy resources. Probably they will try to leverage the Karma from wiping us out to make it easier for their Sect Cultivatiors to cultivate or ascend, maybe via a Dao of Karma or something.
Maybe, but if this was a very significant fraction of the Devil Bees power massed together, then between the ganking of one of their Nascent Souls and getting thoroughly rebuffed by the Golden Devils, then it's less likely theyll try again any time soon

The Bees were likely betting on the payout from hitting us making up for the lost investment of the Nascent soul on top of whatever they squeezed out from the Verdant Sea post-razing the SDSP.
Yeah, thankfully our fortification turn it from mutual attrition to a Meat Grinder. Again, i will got to admire the move made by the Saber Palace cultivator that came up with it. For a bribe, they weaken both parties buying time for them to recover.

[X] Plan Both Sides
-[X] Heraclius Staurakius - One of your precious Core Formation cultivators in the Great Circle, Heraclius has stalled cultivation-wise. He is an exceptional commander, but he is old. At 900, he will only be capable of command for another 80 years or so. He is the best commander available by a significant margin, and the most experienced, but taking him on as a commander will mean replacing him before too long - discontinuity of command is where the Legions are the weakest. In the short-term, though, he is the best available to you - a little more skilled than Aikaterine, even.
--[X] Have him immediately begin grooming Olympiodora Rhangabe to be his successor
---[X] Have him prepare to step down as soon as the hundred-year trials are over to take a job as an advisor to Olympiodora Rhangabe while she gets the hang of things
--[X] When he dies, have Olympiodora Rhangabe take over from him

This way he will be in charge during the hundred year trial, which is what we desperately need, but we will also get the long term benefit of Olympiodora Rhangabe sooner than normal.

This is viable, but be aware that changes in command come at significant loss to your combat capabilities each time.

Naturally less so if it's a more smooth transition I'm guessing

Hrmmmmmmmmmm

Hopefully most of our neighboring powers won't be in a position to do anything to take advantage of that weakness before it can be successfully mitigated

But he is close to death anyway, so we will have to replace him either way. This way he can at least have a little more time to train his successor
It's that training the successor immediately before the Trials bit that seems to be what would be classified as "be aware that changes in command come at significant loss to your combat capabilities each time." Like the transition period for our last military commander. Only this would happen either the upcoming turn, or during the Trials itself, as the change in command is set to happen immediately.

I'd like to believe I'm wrong, and the transition issues would happen after the Trial, but I don't think I am.

As per my plan, he wouldn't step down until after the trials ended.

Just as it sounds. I've tried to make a sheet as simple as possible for an omake reward index, to ensure I know what people want.

It's here.

Given it's late in the turn it won't be mandatory this turn, but it will be next turn.

If you write a Good Seed and want an omake reward from now on, please enter your Good Seed's name, a link to the first omake (or all of them if you want to, but at least the first) omake you wrote this turn, and the bonus you requested.

If you're doing anything different - like trying to make Formations for the Clan, or going into a Secret Realm, or the like, please note it in the notes column.

As I do the Good Seed report, I'll use the Reward Given column to ensure people are correctly getting the rewards they ask for. As the number of Good Seeds and omake explode, the former 'just read through 'em and write stuff' solution is coming apart at the seams.

As per my plan, he wouldn't step down until after the trials ended.
He would begin training a successor immediately, training a successor is what the last protostrator did to step down. Which was done by training the successor through letting them be in command. A transition period that began when the successor was being trained.

The QM didn't respond to the request for clarification on if your plan would mean the transition, with the weakening issues involved, begins immediately, or if the transition will begin after the Trial as attempted to set up in the plan. So, it's up to the players to interpret properly, I guess. Or maybe the QM will clarify?

The transition for the new Protostrator begins immediately. He will be somewhat less effective if he's grooming a successor during that time, though. The second transition will begin after the Trials in the plan, which will be a sharp drop in effectiveness. To put it simply, doing any major military operations in the hundred years after the coming Trials would be a difficulty, with the triple whammy of going through three Protostrators in quick succession, and the centennial genocide attempt atop that.
