Given that there's now several dozen Library of Alexandria's worth of material in all forms of media flowing into our world, I could see this leading to calls for more free exchange of information in capitalist countries, especially in education and sciences. UAR servers playing the role of Z-Library and Libgen for OTL will help. On another note, considerably more people than OTL will now have access to the internet and global collaboration will be more common.

Did Steve Irwin die earlier in TLM?

I think this is referencing something discussed in the Discord that Steve Irwin can become the elected leader of Oceania but would get couped because his platform is leftist.

But by far it would be the nascent transgender and queer communities that were the fastest growing online link between the Communist and Western worlds, as Irwin survival communities found themselves benefiting and seeking out the knowledge and experience of their UAR counterparts, who had the blessing of developing in relative peace and openness in comparison. Advice, therapeutic techniques, and even ways of acquiring transition medication were exchanged freely and would be of immense help to many thousands across the globe; though in the medium term, this connection would serve to fuel a societal backlash against non-cis people and establish an association between transgender people and communism that would end up cementing the bipartisan convergence on transphobic and queerphobic policies in Western and Eurasian democracies starting from the late 2000s.

Both heartwarming in that they would have help and resources that would make their journeys towards self-discovery easier and expectedly depressing that they are getting cracked down because of that sort-of thing. At the very least they would have communities that would support them and the knowhow in how to survive such crackdowns.

though the native Irish were rather disturbed whenever tourists commented on how great it was that their Ireland wasn't filled with amputees or that its wild areas were still green,

Irish: Ohgawd did the British come back?!
UAR Tourist: What, those losers? Naw. It was the Americans.
Irish: Say what-?!

Must be weird for UAR tourists to see Pandas in Chinese zoos since I think they went extinct in the TLM TL.
Likewise it's weird for Chinese tourists to the UAR to see the Yangtze River Dolphin alive and well in various open water exhibits.
Irwin Survival Timeline?

Noticed that's the first to repeat I think, wonder what it's referencing
Irwin and his family suffered a horrible fate in the HSB TL

Irish: Ohgawd did the British come back?!
UAR Tourist: What, those losers? Naw. It was the Americans.
Irish: Say what-?!
"Oh British people no longer exist back home, we just have Insularians."

My depraved brain says Kick Ass 2's Mother Russia.
"I have been a bad reactionary and I need a big strong commie mommie to teach me a lesson…in dialectical materialism"

If we're assuming OTL pace, then this is going to remain a branch across the metaphorical iron curtain that's never quite cut off. But if used under 2024 logic, then social media is about to be strangled in its infancy by a Cold War 2.0 government intent on refusing any connection to communist "propaganda".
Bit of both

Don't care enough to look up the spelling

Wonder if there'll be a rehash of the 80s feminism arguments, especially with these website being owned or operated with unionized sex workers
Sex work in the UAR is actually gonna be fascinating for many outside feminist observers since well is it even classifiable as such when currency has been eliminated? In any case the UAR actually has fewer sex workers than ever in the 2000s as decades of development and social values reorientation has resulted in most of the factors that push people into sex work no longer being in play, but this does mean that those who do work there are actually passionate and dedicated to the craft, and they have more freedom to experiment without the demands of the market constraining them. Overall it's a very interesting and controversial subject that's worthy of (and will get) its own update.

I go to a sex worker and instead of having sex they give me a two hour presentation of their introspective and cerebral performance art piece (with nipples)

Even though I've known what Hasbara is for a long time, I still can't stop associating it with "Hasbro". So the image of AIPAC and the IDF using nerf guns and board games to appeal to the American youth has me giggling.

socialist Adult websites were taking the internet by storm

Genuinely tempted to write an omake on this, especially given that this completely changes all of the thoughts I had on Alan Moore in the old HSB ideas document. In 2009 OTL he wrote a history of erotica that was also part a manifesto calling for pornography to be treated as a genre that had the potential for artistic merit and for artists to transform "this dismal wilderness" into a "scented garden of enduring value", yet the UAR has brought such a "scented garden" with them about 7 years before he went about writing that manifesto

Please do, HSB has been sorely lacking in omakes

Ohhhh, it's a Cyber Device, not a Cyber Vice
Nah Cybervice rolls better off the tongue.

Why this Spanish city in particular?

I'm guessing people want to visit Tokyo due to it the fact they couldn't go to the CPS in the other world.
TLM Iberian Falangist have utterly annihilated all traces of al-andalus even before they went full pol-pot, so naturally the Arab majority UAR is quite eager to see the real deal rather than reconstructions.

And yeah very few Comintern citizens have ever seen Tokyo, especially after post-Sejima closing up period.

Happens a lot actually in-universe

I was gonna ask why and then i remembered what the USA did to them ITLM.

Was the Eiffel tower destroyed by the fascists, or is this more of a generic one.

Makes sense.
This too since if the co prosperity sphere still exists.

You know after reading this ISOT I yearn for fic that ISOTs a true and prosperous cyberpunk communist nation or planet (in case FTL space travel is possible) into a cyberpunk capitalist dystopia setting just to see all the shenanigans that can happen.
