I prefer gate situation than isot. Like I always think of the people disconnected from their loved ones which always is in my mind in a isot.
Yeah if it wasn't for the immersion break, realistically the UAR isn't accepting the ISOT reality as the new home without some serious side effects. The idea of them just shrugging the ISOT off, would really only be understandable in that they are actively looking for a way to return back to their home reality. Or actually try to understand the science of them all mass teleporting without any repercussions.
Frankly another story can be easily them flabbergasted by the ISOT. Then spent the rest of the story looking for away home while resisting probing imperialist powers. Refusing to devolve any information of their home reality for security reasons. Then after finding how it happened and how to reverse it, do just that a reversal. After switching back to their home reality, they remain thankful they don't have to go for another world revolution in a hostile reality with less resources and allies. Also with less chance of a world revolution, given by the capitalists more pragmatic and less self-destructive nature of society.

As the year 2002 was nearing its end, the state of Israel seemed invincible. Six decades of endless genocide, displacement, and war had seen the country go from strength to strength, secure its position as the US' most favored ally in the region, and establish a global reputation as an innovation powerhouse and progressive bastion in the savage region.
Making things better was that all its enemies had been undone: Egypt was corrupt and indolent, Syria was precarious, the Gulf states were bought, Iran was isolated, Jordan was cooperative, Lebanon was neutralized, and Iraq was humbled. With the collapse of the USSR and China's pivot, the Palestinian resistance was so ephemeral as to be a non-factor and made compliant by Oslo.
The War on Terror was merely cherry on the top, as Israeli officials and supporters of Zionism were glad to see the world finally come around to the Israeli way of thinking, of the need to do anything and everything to contain the Muslim menace and it would be Israel providing the experience and software needed for the world's great stand against terrorism.
Thus when over half a million Israelis scattered outside the levant went to sleep one fateful December night, they could never have expected in a million years that the world they knew and cherished would be cruelly taken away from them in an instant by forces beyond their control (ironically not so different from what happened to the Palestinian five decades beforehand).
In a flash, the state of Israel was no more and its place was something that had seemed to be a personification of every Zionist nightmare: a colossal nuclear pan-Arab communist regime that made all the Arab states of the world of Two Koreas (indeed most states in general) look like glorified gangster states and pleasure palaces with its industry, technology and sheer military power. And what they would learn about the fate of Zionism in the other timeline only confirmed their suspicions of just how "antisemitic" this new abominable state was.
The UAR's policy of allowing a right of return to the entire Palestinian diaspora and their descendants while explicitly prohibiting any immigration into its borders by former Israeli citizens (save Palestinian citizens) unless would-be immigrants agreed to an extensive background check and questioning along with 10 years of disarmament were mere icing on the cake and no amount of international condemnation, denouncement or comparisons to the Nuremberg laws were going to make Cairo or Alexandria budge; their world had seen the horrors of Tkuma, the aftermath of its collapse and the chaos wrought by its former settlers, and they would make sure such a thing would not happen again, never again.
For a people used to dominating others without fear and doing as they pleased, the experience of suddenly being helpless and adrift was harrowing, confusing, and terrifying for those Israelis left behind, and they reacted in the only way Zionists knew how: with hysterical disproportionate violence.
It began with marches protesting the Berlin peace talks across the United States and Europe and demanding the United States declare war on this great new terror, then it became vandalizing and terrorizing of businesses and homes owned by Palestinians, Arabs, or really any Muslims or Muslim looking peoples and as the Wamdian Economic Crash threw the world into chaos things soon escalated to the level of pogroms murders and lynchings as the Islamophobia of post 9/11 escalated to ever greater heights with seemingly no limit in sight.
One should stop to note, however, that many of these actions were not committed by displaced Israelis or even Jewish people at all; through simple numbers, the majority of Zionism supporters were actually American evangelicals for whom the loss of Israel meant rendering their beliefs of the return of Jesus null and void; and they would, in turn, take out their despair and anger at America's latest acceptable targets.
For America's Arab and Muslim minorities, the coming years would be ones of oppression, humiliation and expulsion even before the Arab Interment process was in full force. Homes were invaded, children murdered, livelihoods destroyed, people raped or sodomized all while law enforcement officers often simply refused to intervene while the justice system would do all it could to avoid ever punishing perpetrators. Those in Europe would fare little better, and in some cases even worse.
It is terrible but expected for people from the right and far right of the spectrum to act this way, but it was especially depressing that so many progressive politicians and organizations would not only remain silent on these attacks but in many cases actively endorse and support such attacks, the Anti Defamation League most notably.
They would be tumultuous years for the Western Jewish communities as well, if for very different reasons. Zionism and the State of Israel had always enjoyed a hegemonic consistent background level support; even amongst those in the community who might not have approved of some of its practices, there was a belief that Israel needed to exist, as a haven and defender of the Jewish people everywhere. And now it was gone, and with it almost half of the Male Schlafy timeline's Jewish community in what many called a second Shoa (never mind that the Wamda had actually increased the number of Jewish people in the world).
And with the nuclear strikes that happened not long after and the chaos that followed, it was all too easy to get caught up in the atmosphere of hysteria and paranoia that soon followed, and to believe in all the most terrible rumors that abound about this unwanted interloper state; a fourth Reich more terrible and powerful than the last combining the worst of the Soviets, the Nazis and Islamic terrorism, one that had already committed a genocide of the Jewish people in its own world and enslaved those that survived and defiled their culture. The media oscillated between spreading such claims and quietly retracting them after the damage was done, and it didn't help matters much when the UAR ignored calls from Germany and the US to hold a referendum on establishing a Zionist state in the holy land.
There were those who attempted to stand aganist tide, but they were often outnumbered and ostracised whenever they spoke out and more than a few would risk being cut off completely when they advocated for dialogue and understanding.
Thus it is easy to see why when the few remaining Israeli officials would announce the creation of a new State of Israel in exile (known as Neo-Israel for short) many flocked to its banner in hopes of reclaiming and rebuilding even a shadow of what was lost. The new state was initially a publicity stunt coordinated between the White House, some of the surviving Zionist organizations, and Israeli officials but quickly grew beyond expectations thanks to large donations and an unexpected wave of volunteers that initially overwhelmed the skeleton "bureaucracy" of the new exile government.
But soon enough, Neoisrael would establish itself as undisputedly the most well-established and extensive exile state in the world and would play its own role in the coming Cold War.
