Hereafter [Worm x Fate/Grand Order]

On one hand, that was an adorable chapter.

But on the other hand, how dare you not bring in Santa Alter :V
Especially after the Santa discussion!
We demand Salter Santa Shenanigans!

Oh dang that was CUTE!

Of course Nero's best buddy starts singing Padoru Padoru.

And that last line from Jack. I let out an audible "dawww".

So why is there no Christmas event, hmm?

Also, there should be a hilarious omake where the Servants sing Christmas karaoke and a drunk Kiara and Hans bring the house down with "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues.

I shook my head. "The Counter Force isn't a person or a god or anything like that. It's more like a…machine or an algorithm. It's always going to throw the least amount of power at something as it can, and that means that…things it might consider frivolous, like summoning Santa Claus to deliver presents to less than a hundred people, would be something it considers a waste of resources. It won't even think of the effort as worth it."

Rika pouted, and under her breath, muttered, "It should."

If she actually meant that, this would have been an entirely different conversation.

tbh, I'm with Rika on this one, but it shows just how sheltered she really is in some ways. Like, in stark fucking relief. She's contracted to Emiya of all people. Insert "How do we tell her" meme here.

I'm pretty sure Algorithm God is going to be anthropomorphized sooner or later though. All things drift towards entropy, except in FGO. There, they all drift towards waifu.

"Romani and Rika and that Archer of hers planned this behind my back. By the time I realized what was going on, everything had already been set up and there was nothing I could do."

Romani! I expected this from Rika, but you too!

Just joking lol. With how commercialized Christmas is, it's less a religious and more cultural holiday at this point.

I wondered if a version of him existed here in this timeline, and if she knew that version personally.

With how much the Fourth Grail War changed Waver, they might be completely different people. Not as different as Shirou who never got caught up in the Fire, but the sentiment is vaguely the same.

Apparently, it's a staple of Fate universes: if Waver Velvet is there, then he will participate in some variant of a Holy Grail War and meet Iskandar, and thereafter become Lord El-Melloi II and Reines' 'adoptive' older brother. Not necessarily the Fuyuki one, because it happened in Apocrypha, too, to my understanding.

Wild. Makes sense I didn't know though, Fate Apocrypha is in my blind zone: I remember it exists only when someone else mentions it.

"That it was fine as long as it didn't stay up past New Year's," he answered. He filled up my plate as we talked. "I told her it was just for a couple of days anyway." He smirked. "She did call it a colossal waste of magical energy, though. For the pittance it takes to keep these up that long."

She calls it a waste now, but when Grand Rider Nicholas shows up to save the day she'll be grateful.

Heck, even Romani joined in the fun, and for him this is just some weird pagan festival from a future cult.

She might actually have a point, is the funny thing. There was no immediately obvious reason for the Counter Force to intervene in Shinjuku past making sure the Demon Pillar didn't survive, but it did. The only real actual consequence was that Fujimaru's desire to save a doomed city and its people was affirmed instead of denied.

all things considered, it might be a time locked event with that in mind, also considering what is going on with Flat and how waver existing as his teacher prevents that from going through a meltdown, could explain it, also all his sherlock holmes shenanigans might be involved.

Chapter CLXII: Christmas in Chaldea

Padoru, padoru! Even if Nero is not there.

It…probably wasn't the healthiest of things to indulge her like that, but at least for the moment, I didn't have any idea how I was supposed to convince her to stay in her own room.

Tay, there are 80.000 and score of souls that never had moms inside Jackie, face it, you will be their mom full time.

"No. We have everything we could have asked for already."

*Critical Hit In the Pancreas from Feels*
Great, time to hunt a new batch of Kyubeys to sent to Bonesaw for another Tinker-modded Pancreas.

By the way, since Taylor and Olga hang out so much, here's a fun fact for picturing them next to each other:

Taylor is 5'10'' by the end of canon. Olga Marie is 4'9''. That's over a foot of difference in height. Or if you like metric, Taylor's 178 cm and Olga's 145 cm, so that's a 33 centimeter difference. The top of Olga's head is probably just below the top of Taylor's shoulder.

There also mass. Taylor was combat instructor in Wards, so i expect she had more or less MMA fighter physique by the end of canon, and keeps herself in shape in Chaldea. While Olga-Marie was.. out of shape when she was "rayshifted" and new body most likely made healthy, but no more than that; so i expect she pretty dainty.

Taylor was more of a Bruce Lee stick than one of those martial artists that puts on a lot of muscle.

Right as I was biting into my own pancakes, the door whooshed open and a familiar trio walked in together.

"Hashire sori yo," Rika sang, "kaze no you ni! Yuki no naka wo, karuku hayaku!"

The words were gibberish to me, but the tune sounded suspiciously like Jingle Bells, only reinforced when Rika got the chorus just in time to reach Emiya and — thankfully — stop so that she could get her breakfast. Emiya complied with what I could only describe as a faint, vaguely exasperated smile.

Well, it could be worse, at least she's singing the actual Japanese lyrics, not, well, I suppose the other version needs no introduction on a Fate thread.

Always liked the fanon(?) that Waver does wind up in Ionian Hetaroi after he passes, based off that one cameo shot during the summoning.
The dude with the long black hair.
