Hereafter [Worm x Fate/Grand Order]

This was, for Jason, the worst outcome. It was not possible for him to move forward before this final foe had been vanquished, but there was nothing he could do to bring the fight to a swifter conclusion, for the Shoal of the Four Branches was inviolable, and so there was nothing for him to do except watch impatiently. Neither his emotional support nor his accusations would by miracle allow Caenis to match an enemy who was simply more skilled than her.

Such a moron. He's got the Grail right there, it should be simple to use it to empower Caenis even more. And of course, the Medea he currently has can't break Ath nGabla, and the Medea who can wants him dead.

Compared to Herakles, who couldn't even think straight, and Caenis, who had been summoned in the form of the woman she was before Poseidon had his way with her? Medea's situation was a blessing. She had none of the baggage that was weighing the rest of them down.
I have long thought it really screwed up Heracles is only ever summoned trapped in the worst moment of his life.

And come to think of it, Atalanta Servant body is physically warped to constantly remind her of a divine curse.

So, how many times would Aife have killed Caenis if the latter didn't have her Invulnerability? Finally, it's cute that Caenis think that can kill Davy Jones.

Several times over. Caenis is just lucky it was Aífe and not her sister; Caenis' god-given invulnerability would have meant absolutely nothing to Scáthach, as she's a godslayer.
Yes, I know that, it's even mentioned that Caenis would've loss her eyes and brain at one point. I just want a tangible number to see how much Aife was styling/dominating on her.

Less than you think.

And Davy Jones is overrated.
Huh. You don't say. Guess that's what I get for not reading in better depth about the guy.
That doesn't speak well of your research you know, it took me less than a minute to find that info in Jason and Chiron profiles.

Any reason as to why you didn't research more about the main villain of the singularity?

I don't think that being a god slayer means that you can bypass divine invulnerability.

Because I really don't like the guy, and because most of the info I needed for him was already in the canon Singularity. Like I also said, I was experimenting with this chapter, so a lot of things were up for grabs and if I hadn't liked the way it was turning out, I might have actually nailed down a PoV, in which case it would never have come up in the first place.

Also made the mistake of thinking I knew all the important bits of his story. Should've known better than to think the entirety of his story was the Medea part of the mythology.

I really don't like him. At all. Not just for the shit he did to Medea, but also because he's an annoying asshole and not even LB5 could redeem him for me.

Honestly I can see Caenis having at least a bit of trouble against Davy Jones, after all, since they're a Sailor they fall under Jones' command as one who has died. Though the blessing of the sea god might make her stronger in general.

You should have made an OC villain then if you are that biased and petty.

What you are describing are the signs of a bad writer.

Also bashing.
Not really his fault Okeonos does a good job at making Jason look like a clown and jerk. Future content just give a nod to the fact that he was a great tactician with doing very little to point out any of his good points. Even in Lostbelt 5 he was still an ass even though they tried to make him more palatable.

Edit: Not really fair blaming a fanfiction author for the faults of the original writers

That pipsqueak goddess might have punched one of those traumas related to his kids.

Jason, be glad that Illya-Sitonai and/or Prisma Illya was/were not part of the roster, one look at the Albino Loli and Heracles would have punched your head off. That, or another Berserker Heracles could have possibly punched his way out of the Throne to run interference against yours.

And the gigantic wall of water came down on that ghost ship like the fist of an angry god.

Trying to drown a Devil of the Sea whose 'Domain'/'Authority' is basically "All sailors drowned at sea"? I do not know what would be worse to use against Old Davy Jones.

Seconded. Either write the character right, or do not write him/her at all if you cannot let your dislike for him/her get in the way.

Because it's hard to tell a story about conflict with Herakles working at full power. At minimum you need to at least limit the amount of time his summoner can provide him with magic energy or else he just steamrolls almost everyone. And if he can't steamroll someone he is clever enough to switch to trickery.

Hell, he beat Thanatos black and blue for a friend.

Basically if Herakles is in the story without impairment he probably should be the main character. Or he is the storm that is approaching and is going to mess up the main characters soon enough.

Say what you will about the shitshow that was Agartha (and there is so much to say good lord), but they did make Herackles freaking terrifying with the full might of his 12 Lives.

Wow, Medea and the Argonauts really carried Jason through everything didn't they?

We're talking about the guy who was described as the smartest of Chiron's students, and still decided to break a marriage vow when his patron deity was the goddess of marriage. Even if it's not exactly true, it is entirely in character for Jason to believe it. Because James is writing the character right, it's just that the character he's writing is the one from FGO, who is based on the one from mythology, and this is how FGO wrote him.

More times than if Caenis had been thinking clearly. Over the course of six hours? Probably at least two dozen. Caenis in a rage gets a bit careless, and Aife was conserving as much energy as she could to draw things out as long as possible.

Whoa, whoever said I was changing anything about him because of how I perceive his character? I admitted that I thought I had everything I needed, added that one character detail that I didn't realize contradicted his history, and made a single mistake with a single sentence fragment. Nowhere did I ever say I was gonna bash the guy, or that I wasn't going to write him according to his canon portrayal, and the instant that mistake was pointed out, I went back and corrected it.

I just don't like the dude. Because the way he was written in FGO? He was a complete shit. Nothing he's done so far in the story is something out of line with how he is in canon Okeanos. Chill, guys, okay? We're 650 thousand words in, I'm not about to drop the ball on something like this because of how I feel about the character.

We get to see Archer Heracles in Strange Fake. The Godhand equivalent is specifically called out as breaking the conventions of a Grail War, and thus having a massively increased power cost - it gives him a set of sub-Phantasms and Phantasmal Beast summons related to all twelve labours. The Nemean Pelt, just one of them, lets him shrug off the entirety of the Gate of Babylon since it rejects blows from all creations of Man. Berserker is hilariously the most balanced way to call him up, even with it reflecting his worst moment and how powerful it leaves him.

On the chapter itself, though, yeah. The experimental nature shines through, in the unclear PoV. The contrast between Aife and Caenus was good to see, and the Argonauts really are all messed up in their summons, aren't they? It's a good detail to focus on and think about.

Sure, he wasn't always nice to her, but when he was mean, it was usually because she deserved it, and when she didn't, he didn't mean it.

Speaking like most victims of an abusive relationship? Oh wow, people complains about Columbus but at least he has the excuse of being insane.

Jason seems the type of guy Taylor would want to kill even when she was playing pretend Hero with the Wards.

Columbus and Jason both have the honor of being never used or leveled up by me. Columbus because he's him and jason because I'M the tactician here fuckboy (also my attempts to use his support self in LB5 were lacking at best).
