Hereafter [Worm x Fate/Grand Order]

Hereafter Material: Rígan Bíastae [Noble Phantasm]
Rígan Bíastae [Noble Phantasm]
Dominion Over Beasts

The remnants of an Authority. A divine right originally belonging to a pair of ancient goddesses.

Even more than the two divine horses that pull her chariot, this is proof of Aífe's conquest over the gods.

Rather than her chariot itself or a bridle and reins, it is a kind of innate ability Aífe gained that allows her to affect any creature or thing to which her Riding skill applies, up to and including Phantasmal and Divine Beasts.

Derived from an Authority over animals, it is the power to bring out the best of her steed's abilities, its full potential. Rather, it might be compared to removing all of the limiters. The offensive abilities of her mount receive a rank up, and the potent magical energy even drastically raises defensive abilities as well, truly boosting her target's power to the maximum.

With a powerful charge, the enemy is trampled.

However, to make true use of this Noble Phantasm to the utmost of its efficacy, an ordinary Servant's Saint Graph is insufficient. Although Aífe is able to display the vast majority of its might as a Rider, if she were to unleash it in full, her Saint Graph would shake itself to pieces under the strain, and Aífe herself would disappear shortly thereafter.

There are consequences to utilizing an Authority in the modern day, after all.

Fun chapter as always @James D. Fawkes.

Uhh... Spoilers?
At this rate El-Melloi is going to be the only servant they gain in this singularity.

That's probably a good thing. Aife isn't a Mary Sue, but she's definitely outshone a lot of the Canon Servants in this Singularity which is not great in my opinion. Aife is probably my biggest complaint about this Singularity to be honest, but still only a fairly moderate one. This Singularity has been handled a ton better than Orleans was so I'm not too upset at Aife outshining a bunch of others. But Aife is unlikely to live past this fight, Altera is a supremely dangerous Servant that even Gilgamesh takes moderately seriously.

Remember, there were two more Servants that were at Aife's castle.

Yeah the preview for next chapter seems to be hinting that Connla is here as well.

She was also almost naked. For some reason. There wasn't a single piece of visible armor anywhere on her body.
General vibe check thread.
Yes, Fate costumes are generally stupid and ridiculous. However I feel this lampshading is a bad compromise between making actual jokes about it, just playing it straight and having Taylor acknowledge that Servants armour would be made of the same spirit particles as their body so wouldn't be tougher, and just fixing the problem by using replacing servants designs with things with armour.
"Chariot of," Boudica chanted as she used the temporary boost to throw Nero bodily in our direction.

"CHALDEAS!"
I see they've de... wait, I've already used this joke haven't I?
"You don't think she did?" El-Melloi II retorted. "If all she wanted to do was commit suicide, there are far easier ways of doing it than trying to take us out with her."

"And the Grail isn't here, either," Emiya added.

Beep-beep!

When I answered my communicator, Da Vinci's panicked face appeared, hovering in midair.

"What the heck is going on over there?" she demanded frantically. "First, there was that utterly ridiculous Spirit Origin, and then another Servant got summoned? And then that enormous magical energy reaction that almost shorted out your vital readings!"
Ah I thought it was odd this was ending without ever hearing from Lu Bu.
The thump of the chariot running Altera over was almost anticlimactic by comparison.

"Kitchen Sink Strategist" — by requiemforasalad
Omake: Kitchen Sink Strategist

Lord Chaldeas shattered, and the tip of the sword screeched as it made contact with the shield behind the wall. More magical energy gathered, the prongs spun up once more, the blade shone with light, and I realized with horror that she was going to use her Noble Phantasm again, before we could even hope to muster a defense.

Mash gasped, Rika shrieked, and Ritsuka yelped, because none of us had expected her to make it through a defense that had stood up to Excalibur.

"Arash!" I scrambled desperately. I didn't even have an order in mind, I just hoped that there was no way he could miss with her this close.

"Fuck it."

It was not Arash who answered me.

"Nine Lives Blade Works."

EMIYA smashed into Altera wielding an immense hunk of sharpened rock that could barely be called a weapon. She was forced back by sudden monstrous strength, and wounds opened on her body in eight places, even as I could not register the cuts.

As suddenly as they opened, they began to close and Altera regained her footing. She pressed forward again and EMIYA... laughed?

"Not enough? Of course even his madness wouldn't be. Fine, how about this? Ig-Alima!"

The hunk of rock cracked and reformed into something even larger. Rika crashed to her knees as the strain on her magic grew and grew. EMIYA swung, and everything in front of him shattered as the land itself was cleaved.

Somehow, Altera survived. She was battered and bloodied but healing all the same.

EMIYA let Ig-Alima fall and deconstruct as he looked back over his shoulder.

"I'm sorry Masters. I must go all out. Just this once."

A terrible crash shoved Altera away as Emiya extended... a pipe? It was a pipe.

Who the fuck was this guy?

Ah, my favorite servant has finally appeared! Lancelot? No! Altera! The most adorable kuudere dork has arrived! It's too bad that she's currently an enemy... Heh, and her just slapping down Lev like a little bitch always makes me giggle. He didn't really think through that particular summon, did he?

Also, I do have to say that I was legitimately surprised to see Altera show up. With how Lev was going on about being "delivered" just what he needed, I thought you were going to change things up and use Nero to summon the Whore of Babylon. What with her just marching right up to him like that. Hell, she did the same thing again by marching right up to Altera, not the brightest move by our dear Emperor. Though it does seem like she realized that in hindsight after what happened to Boudica.

taking the form of a slender figure with long hair and a sword.
If you wrote this with the intention of Taylor simply missing it in the heat of battle, then I applaud your realism. But if you were serious, and I've seen FAR too many authors make this mistake, Altera actually has short hair. The rest of the white is just a veil. It can be hard to tell due to their identical coloration, but if you look closely you can see the difference in texture between her hair and the cloth. It's easier to tell if you look at her in her "civilian clothes" from Fate/Extella.

"Emiya, go!" I ordered.

Emiya glanced at Rika.

"Go help Super Action Mom!" Rika echoed me without hesitation.
Once again... These pauses in following commands are going to bite them in the ass eventually.

Ah yes the "god" she killed. With the help of hundreds of parahumans and two endbringers. It has been stated multiple times in the story that masters who think they can directly fight a servant aren't going to be masters for much longer, they'll be dead.

Yeah, the most Taylor can do is throw Last Ressort at a Servant so they can attempt to cut someone in Twain. Nano thorn are BS when strengthened to NP level.

Its what happend in canon actually

He is definitely not stupid enough to do that considering she replaces Goetia as the big bad in FGO Arcade timelines. Yes I used plural, because from what I remember, its at least implied that the Chaldea you play as is not the first she had destroyed.

Tldr. It would have been the worst decision he could have possibly made.

I DID mention that she was my favorite? I know that she appeared canonically, but with Lev's wording I thought James was going to pull a fast one on us. I wasn't complaining about it, just stating my surprise and joy at being deceived by the wordplay.

As for the later... Lancelot isn't supposed to have shown up here yet either, much less Bradamante. James has shown that they're perfectly fine with changing canon if it would have an interesting narrative impact.

"I would have assumed you only gained Servants in some kind of cosmic lottery, similar to, but legally distinct from gambling."
Funny you should mention that. I went for more MHXX NP levels, and then for event CEs earlier in the week, and I was beset by three rainbows — my third Yang, then Van Gogh, and then Nemo. I fear I've used up all of my luck for the foreseeable future.

Too many people were looking forward to her to cut her out. I haven't forgotten the golden rule of mass media.

Plus, she gives me a good chance to actually put forward an enemy that really does present an almost unstoppable threat to the team. Romulus and Flauros both had things that made them difficult to work with, but Altera is just a machine with a fountain of magical energy strapped to her heart. It was much easier to make her this terrifying than it was either of those two.

And I'm happy for it! She doesn't get as much love as she should, so I'm glad to see you showcasing just how terrifying she can be. Arturia? Mordred? Bah! Glory to Altera!

Wow, I rolled very similarly to that. I got Van Gogh today, but I got two Yangs (NP3!), an MHXX and a Nemo earlier this week.

Now, on the topic of today's chapter, Lancelot with the save! Guess he must've decided to come offer us some assistance for some reason, and then just happened to get here at the exact right moment.

My memory is failing me, what's the pipe from?
The meme or the actual reason?

Memes has EMIYA as the Pipes Hero compared to Nameless' Wrought Iron Hero

Its actual origin is in the VN where at the beginning all Shirou can do besides Structural Grasping is Reinforcement, but can only seem to do that on a random pipe(fahcking meme) he has laying around his workshop.

In Night 1, he uses a poster holder (IIRC), a kind of pipe, to fend off Cu Chulainn before he accidentally summons Artoria, so there you have the origin for the pipe meme. Of course, someone on a Reddit thread commented that the first pipe infrastructure was actually found in Mesopotamia, so they said that Gil would canonically have the First Pipe(Original Fluid Redirector) in his Gate of Babylon.

Edit: clarity

And sadly, we are unlikely to see her being a loveable dork.

It depends, it's a possibility if @James D. Fawkes starts summoning more Servants using Chaldea's FATE system and starts having the Twins summon the Servant Shades they use Canonically for battles. But yeah Altera can be adorkable, it's a pity we haven't gotten another Extella game yet. Link was a confusing mess for a couple characters like Archimedes, but it was fun regardless. Altera Lily was amazing.
