Hereafter [Worm x Fate/Grand Order]

I can see the twins not knowing about Hadrian, but Taylor's been explicitly studying Roman history around the era and I would hope that the Chaldea home team had put together a list of famous Romans who might have been called as Servants.

It just seems very very uncharacteristically sloppy on Da Vinci's end that she wouldn't even consider the Roman emperor whose main claim to fame is a variety of constructions, who had a gigantic wall defining the edge of the Roman empire named after him, when she already knows that there have been multiple Roman emperors summoned. Like, if any of the people involved know who Aife (a fairly obscure figure in an already-niche mythology) and Boudica (a minor historical figure in Britain) are, then they should absolutely know about Hadrian.

In Europe. None of these characters are from Europe. From an American perspective Boudica & Hadrian are both historical figures related to the Roman Empire that I might be able to recall a few sentences of details on each.

Thank God I played Rise of Nations in 4th Grade, then.

My immediate thought for "Roman building fuckoff huge wall" was Theodosios I, though.

@James D. Fawkes did Castoria bless you with her presence? And who ended up answering your guaranteed GSSR summon?

I got NP2 Castoria off of 50 tickets and a single 10 roll, but that balanced out by the GSSR banner giving me an extra copy of Summer BB rather than the NP up for Godjuna I wanted (and probably I'll have a helluva time getting Summer Kiara in a few weeks I bet)

That's true, but... there's just too much stuff to cover for six weeks. What I mean, is that It doesn't suspense my disbelief, especially if they studied the times before Nero.
In terms of studying, a good, chronological crack at Roman history that covers events in cursory detail should only take a week of solid reading, in terms of wikipedia articles, if even. Six weeks is enough to get yourself a college course or two's worth of knowledge, as long as you're studious, and, y'know, the end of the world is on the line here, so I'd expect them to be. The last time I touched Roman history was quite a few years ago now in high school, and I was definitely thinking of Hadrian right off the bat.

I strongly disagree. History isn't a small bulletpoint list on a board.

Are you seriously saying reading wiki blurbs is enough? Do you think USA's history can be learned in two days? Because we are talking from the birth of Rome, to the fall of the Western Empire, if not the Eastern. Only from its founding to Nero it's more than eight centuries. Only because we don't have as much density of stuff being recorded like in our times it doesn't mean things didn't happen, and weren't recorded.

Sulla? At least as important as Hadrian, if not more, because Caesar will follow his example to gain power. Soldiers weren't conscripted citizens anymore, but more like private armies that were repayed the more they conquered(or their patron could pay). And if we talk about Sulla, we talk about Marcus, and if we talk about Caesar, we talk about Cicero, the campaign in Gallia, the other two Triumviri, Octavius, the other Triumvirate... and all this in what, a few decades?

And let's not get started about the legends, religion, allies, enemies, literature(see Shakespeare there?). You don't learn enough with a wiki about what can happen, and the whole culture and civilizations that makes Servants servants.

Heck, let's insert the War of Troy because of the Heneid, where Vergil wrote the justification for the war against Carthago, and in Nasuverse it might be true. In two days they'll have memorized the whole poem, just in case they meet Aeneas.

If they were just studying that, non-stop. Hadrian is an important figure, but his wall it's just one thing. The twins have been adapting to being masters, learning magecraft, socializing with their servants, etc. Taylor might have studied more than them, but there's a limit.

Hadrian was important, and its wall was important, but it wasn't that important.

The building of Hardian's Wall marked the point Rome stopped expanding and started collapsing. Six weeks is more than enough time to become passingly familiar with all 800+ years of Roman history, especially if someone who knows it already is summurizing it, and Hadrian's Wall will definitely come up if only because of that one point. Rome gained territory before Hadrian, but started to lose it, slowly and piece by piece, for the rest of the Empire's existence.

I probabaly could teach someone a history of the U.S. in two days yes, obscure facts would be ommitted, but important things would be included, same with Roman history, and Hadrian's Wall was important. At the time the Wall was built the Empire was the biggest it ever was, when it started to lose territory, it was never that large again.

That's the thing, though. They don't need to have studied in such detail; knowing enough to identify potential Servants is enough, because they still have contact with Chaldea. That'd mean things like feats, great works, and famous anecdotes. Sure, there's a lot of people who have a lot of those, but there were many, many more who were irrelevant. A week of study would be enough. Wiki articles are especially suited because they contain what's lasted throughout the years and has stuck in history, not to mention consciousness.

If I wanted to think optimistically in terms of efficiency, I'd say they could have split the studying between everyone who was going to the singularity, effectively allowing for 6? times the time to study in detail.

Just between the masters? Maybe, if optimistic. Taylor has the disposition to sit still long enough for that. Ritsuka too I think. I'm not sure Rika can without something catching her attention. I'm positive she can probably dig into something that catches her interest, but I can't see her sitting long enough to cram as much as her twin or Taytay can.

Then again "stopping the apocalypse" may just be enough motivation…

I myself was fortunate to get Castoria with my last 3 quarts, then realized that I had 50 something worth of SQ in fragments and did some last minute rolls for 'Protea that gave me Melt' instead.

My GSSR:
I was coming off of a pretty big SSR Servant drought, so I was actually hoping I would get a double drop from the GSSR. Unfortunately, my try for Arjuna Alter failed. My alternative target was Super Orion, but I was scared of the possibility of a Space Ishtar USO and his next banner is much sooner than Arjuna Alter's, so I went with the second to last banner. A second Kama means I don't have any need or reason to try and roll another copy from the Ooku rerun, so there's that at least.

Castoria was a little more stubborn.
I got spooked twice. She actually forced me into the position of buying a pack in order to get her, and even that was a close thing. My response to Tamamo was, "Fuck, I've become Myst."

Eventually, however, I did get Castoria. Some people have said they're going for NP2 or they managed NP2 with the free Anniversary SQ, but I don't plan on trying to push my luck. It might be nice to have her NP2, but in terms of preferences, I'd rather save and get Berserker Bryn in the upcoming summer event that's probably coming out next month.

Apropos the discussion of research: the twins did not much at all, and Taylor, once she was informed that the era in question would be Nero's reign, focused her studying on that era as much as she could. It wasn't anywhere near as much as she wanted, though, on account of sources being a little thin and the internet, you know, kinda not existing.

man, congrats on Castoria. I might try for another 20x roll. Otherwise everything is saving for Morgan. I'm a F2P, so trying as much as I did already with the update's SQ kind of hurt already.

Edit: tried the rolls. No Castoria. Now it's a test of my resolves to save for Morgan! I want me Berzerk-Wife!

And there is summer event that might tempt me… or not.
Apropos the discussion of research: the twins did not much at all,
"Not as much" because Taylor is trying to beat some basic combat stuff into their collective neurons, or they were too busy doing other trainings, or they just don't know what they're suppose to do?

…Too much wiki?

I got Arjuna alter, Qin Liangyu, Asvhataman, No5 & 6 Nitocris, a few dupes and NP3 Castoria.

Never in my life I ever spent so much quartz in a single pull ( and I was trying to MLB a 5* CE and failed of course ). 0 $ thankfully.

This game...

I got Castoria after using 9 tickets. Feeling pretty good with myself right now but I know this is just a ploy by the Gacha gods to get me happy enough to spend more money in the future.

Also still deciding if I should roll to get her to NP2 or 3 though........

I got Castoria after my 2nd 10 pull, tried to do GSSR but google keeps declining my card

Got Guifei for my GSSR, and eventually got Castoria, but got spooked like, four times in the process with two back to back Rainbows that turned into 4* assassins… Even when she showed up, it was a grey Caster card that sparked XD

Eyyy! Congrats on the boost to Kama (always worthwhile) and the free Avenger Nobu that came with it I guess lol. Definitely I would have been worried about turning into Myst as well if any other caster had managed to spook me prior to our dear Corgi showing up. And while you had a rougher go than I did, at least you didn't suffer as bad as Pocketchalk did last night. I watched her stream and while her NP1 Castoria showed up without much difficulty, NP2 took her like 660 quartz. I have no idea how deep she had to go for her goal of NP5 but I bet she dropped at least 1K last night lol
