Hey sorry for the necro but I was just wondering if this story might get moving again. With Metroid: Samus Returns out interest in Metroid is rising I just want to know if the author might be reinspired to work on this story again. MSR gave a few cool lore pieces that I'd love to see used in this story.

Well, Necro-ing isn't actually illegal here on SV, though it is polite to actually have a useful post. You should be fine. Although personally, this sounds more like the kinda thing to PM the author for, if ya get me.
 
Just been busy, and the next update is going to be an absolute monster of an update. I will say the Chozo interludes are all non-canon now for reasons that won't be clear unless you play Samus Returns.

So you're planning to stick closely to canon Metroid lore, then?

And...Just out of curiosity, how much of your plans did you have to rework due to *SPOILERS*?

Oh boy. So that's interludes 11 and 15 for sure, but is Racklas's interlude also included? What about the other stuff featuring Old Bird and Grey Voice such as during the ZEROH LAZAH sequence? Will you be going to rewrite them or just leaving them be?

Some of it is the same, the Metroids are going to have to get a look at. Certain changes must be made to make them more... threatening in line with canon. :V

I think the Aeion abilities if included should be a part of Samus psychic powers. They're different from regular upgrades and I honestly think they'd mesh well together. It's already been shown with the Speed Booster that Samus psychic powers can activate functions in her suit so the that makes things easier.

What about the Scan Pulse? It is more like a long-range mapping function than a psychic power, though it could be activated by those powers at first until she finds how to do it normally or set her suit to do it automatically (something canon!Samus would be envious of, especially if this version also detect potential and known enemy/hostile life or energy signatures along with neutral and allied ones). Okay with the potential upgrade it could get by relying on psychic powers to use precognition to see what is where at that moment, it would be pretty potent... and maybe broken.

Now about the Burst beam, it is simply spamming beam shots, nothing special about it, except it is done faster than one can press the button... but we're not augmented like Samus, so there's that. Or it could be a yet-to-be accessible upgrade for her beams already installed in her Power Suit, so no need for Aeion energy, but again it could be accessed in time of need by Samus via her mind, but then once she uses it she may as well gain the upgrade as a secondary firing mode, unless that was what the Spazer beam was about? If not, how do they (Spazer and Burst) interacts? Spazer becomes the "Hose" (or something else) beam, firing like a stream from a Proton Pack? Okay that would be awesome, especially if it fires exactly like said weapon with the same "projectile". Also imagine just all the reactions and potential jokes that could be done! (Clockblocker drooled for a moment thinking about that, others ran away/threw him into M/S cell or something.)

Lightning Armour would be like what, a reserve energy tank that she learns to tap into at will to preserve her main energy tanks when she willingly or needs to go into harmful areas? Does it even make sense? Phase Drift could be explained as Samus retiring herself slightly from the flow of time instead of stopping/slowing time of the whole universe while she is unaffected like in canon. That ability could be psychic-enhanced/activated with complete understanding of its mechanics, since it may also rely to a point on her precognition. Yeah, we won't see that last one (unless it's used to represent adrenalin boost/bullet time) until much, much later.

Better let the author decide on that one.
 
Just found this story, and it's everything I've ever wanted. A Metroid/Worm crossover? Humanizing Samus without the mistakes of Other M? A Transformers reference? Not dead, just resting?

I'm definitely watching this.
 
And having now finished reading through all the updates, I'm thoroughly impressed by how obscure some of the characters used were.

Seriously. I didn't think anyone remembered Racklas existed. I'm half expecting to see freakin' Joey put in an appearance, before remembering that the current place in the timeline keeps that from happening.

Having Rackles be a space dragon trying to be good makes me want to give him a hug on that big beak, if he looks like ridley and has one I mean (since this is not the comic version I think.)

Though I should be the space snake the hugs all the good space-adjective beings.
