Hm... I wonder if someone can fly out of view on water level in the habour.
That assumes the pirates don't have other assets en route as well. I doubt the suits can hold up to pirate-vehicle mounted weaponry

edit: so ninja'd.

double edit: Has Weaver got any abominations helpful creatures en route?

triple edit: To correct unhelpful budgie assisted spelling.

edit the fourth, QUAD EDIT:
Is Weaver being jammed? She's got a range of a mile or so, depending on how stressed she is, in canon (at one point she hits two miles *without her relay bugs* but it may have been poor math skillz on the author's part, because her range was given in 'blocks' at the time).

We could have Weaver use bugs to call for help, or... something.

I think we now know what happened to the Simurgh in Antartica, the Space Pirates captured it. Also, I think they are anticipating Leviathan's arrival in Brockton Bay, and came prepared to capture it too.

Being jammed. You might want to reread the bit on Sentry Drones last update by the way. Specifically one very important part.

I was less thinking about actually calling and more about someone noticing that bunch of obviously alien dropships just flew in and offloaded alien invasion on the docks.

For example, actual military stationed on the same coast.

We need to take out those shield projectors and it should be safe enough for Velocity to run in there behind them, shoot them up, and then move on to the next projector to do the same with maybe going after tanks in between or afterward.

Team flyers need to take out the aircraft and fight them in the front where their weak point is to take them down fast while moving fast to avoid enemy fire.

Then it's a matter of taking out the ground troops by working together with the others.

Thoughts?

As a heads up Samus is so hilariously faster than Velocity it isn't funny.

Well, they certainly noticed something. But that's for later.

You can vote to ask Weaver if she has anything incoming.

Maybe Vista could get Weaver in range by cutting the distance in between factory and creature pen, assuming that they are on the right side of the coast.

Good point she would be better to take out the projectors and tanks, flyers on aircraft, and everyone else on troops.

@ImmortalsBlade since Weaver can sense the pirates with her bugs can she bring out the tankcrabs and other alien creatures from ocean to assault the pirates as well since they are basically an army?

I would have suggested using Vista's powers to try to bypass the shields, but there is a 90% chance that either Vista's powers don't work like that or that the shields are hardened against them.

Has his velocity been increased by the federation human powerup, or he hasn't got it/he is not much faster/he gained other benefits?

[X] "Weaver...Bring out the bugs." "Which ones?" "ALL OF THEM!"

Let's show these pirates that two of the scariest beings in existence are sufficiently pissed off.

Eh, I'll stick with the original.

1D100+20 => 104 #<60 Charge Shot to stun Drone 1
1D100 => 48 #<70 Drone 2 retaliates
1D100 => 42 #<70 Shadow Pirate Group 1 (3 individuals) attack Samus!
1D100 => 31 #<70 Shadow Pirate Group 2 (3 individuals) attack Samus!
1D100 => 32 #<70 Shadow Pirate Group 3 (3 individuals) attack Samus!
1D100 => 41 #<50 Shadow Pirate Group 4 (3 individuals) attack Armsmaster!
1D100+10 => 31 #<50 Shadow Pirate Group 5 (3 individuals) attack Mouse Protector!
1D100 => 83 #<50 Armsmaster attacks the pirates on him with his Halberd+Rifle!
1D3 => 3 #How many does he hit?
1D6+1 => 7 #Hits he gets on Pirate 4A
4A 600 HP - (60*7) = 180 HP
1D6+1 => 6 #Hits he gets on Pirate 4B
4B 600 HP - (60*6) = 240 HP
1D6+1 => 2 #Hits he gets on Pirate 4C
4C 600 HP - (60*2) = 480 HP
1D100-10 => 5 #<50 Mouse Protector attacks the pirates after her!
Finally, some good rolls!

Instantly the adults are mobile, pushing the younger members behind them. Dauntless is the first into the pod, it closing around him. Glory Girl struggles audibly to rush out into the battle against the grip of cooler heads.

"Damnit let me go!"

"No way! You can't even see them!" Gallant yells back.

"I'll be fine, I'm invinci-"
No you aren't, and you know it.

"Oh shut up and wait for a suit you stupid girl." Piggot snarls as she checks the pistol she had liberated from the very out of his depth PRT agent with her. Useless though it may be, one can appreciate the desire that if it comes to it to die fighting.
Thank you, Piggot.

"Proud, arrogant Colin." It hisses, snapping its fangs. "A shame we can't break you first. Your flesh would taste so sweet."
Godamnit, they're using psychological warfare.

Also, they know. Godamnit, we knew that, but it hadn't sunk in what they meant.

"How does it- MISSILES WO-" A missile streaks through the air, impacting the lead Pirate dead on with a cacophonous explosion. "AHA! VOICE COMMANDS! MISSILE! MISSILE!" Mouse shouts triumphantly and her Assault Rifle gladly responds.
Mouse Protector isn't useless!

1D100+20 => 45 #<40 Samus attacks Group 1
1D100+20 => 87 #<40 Samus attacks Group 2
1D100+20 => 89 #<40 Samus attacks Group 3
(600*9)= 5400 HP
5400- ((180*9)+(25*100) Guaranteed damage) = 1280 HP =4 Pirates remaining
4D10*60 => 1320 Damage output, All Pirates in Groups 1-3 eliminated
I know it's been said before, but Samus is a beast.

You land, straightening up amongst the flaming debris you had left and affixing your gaze on the remaining four attacking you. One of the pirates steps back, glaring at you behind its obscuring helmet. "Just who is this child we've been sent after?"

"Such a lust for revenge!"

"Wh-" The Pirate doesn't get to finish the syllable as your fist impacts its skull.
Metal Gear?

In that you ram your arm cannon directly into its open maw. The shields barely compensate as you open fire, until you pause to charge. Most of its upper torso turning to ash in an instant, you flip off it unleashing uncharged shots onto the pirates charging at you.
Hardcore.

One last defiant roar escapes the pirates throat, intending to die with honour.
Honor? From Space Pirates? Please.

Dauntless HP: 400

Everyone's in good condition at least.

"We're... We're in the middle of an alien invasion." Assault says as his wife emerges from the pod. "Holy fuck, we just beat off an alien invasion."
It ain't nowhere near over yet, Assault.

"Why?! What do they want?! Are these actually the Space Pirates Huntress talked about?!" Brandish asks, sounding very much out of her depth.
The rabbit hole only goes deeper.

"THERE'S MORE! LOTS MORE!" Weaver interrupts with a scream.
Thanks Taylor.

Then several distinct booms further complicated matters. Towards the city you could see bright flashes followed by rising smoke, even spotting a skyscrapper collapsing. The Shadow Pirates had placed explosives in the city! Given the current focus on this location you suspect they were annihilating emergency services, hospitals, routes into and out of the city and the like to prevent reinforcements or any for of help for you. However a ping lets you know the defensive systems protecting the clinic was still functional, and that those inside were safe. Which was some relief. Your blood still burned though, how it was happening AGAIN. You won't lose a second home to these monsters!
Yup, they're going loud.

The other set of booms was more worrisome, as they were sonic booms.

Four Pirate ATC's swoop in, hovering above the swarming militia. Four pirates leap out from each one, all a species you recognize very well.

Those were the ones who destroyed your home. You'd recognize those claws and beaks anywhere. Rages consumes you yet... something pulls at your mind.

Several sounds of boots hitting gravel informs you the others had suited up, and had joined you on the roof. Dragon it seemed was still rebooting her mech.

"Think we managed to piss them off." Mouse Protector states.

No... Something doesn't make sense about this troop distribution...
The Zeta Pirates are enhanced in some way, delibrately chosen to get a psychological reaction from Samus, or it's just that something has brought the varying clans together.

This variant however appears to also be equipped with a harpoon and tether system of some sort, designed to pierce into the crystalline hide of an Endbringer.
Oh, they're trying to capture Leviathan.

Or maybe just airlift him somewhere else.

The part where they scramble Thinker and certain Master powers? Yeah, that's going to fuck everything up.

So any military tacticians here? We have Samus, who is a kill machine.

We have Taylor's army from the deep.

We have capes - who I kinda think we should treat as mook units we can't lose, honestly. Most of their powers are outclassed, except maybe the ones that can fly.

They got sixty mooks, sixteen soldiers, four aerial units, twenty drones, and they're hiding behind shield drones.

I want to say I got but, but I might have an idea

@ImmortalsBlade: Can we fire from inside the shield without penalty or damaging it?

They're mechanical and therefore Manton-OK. So all other things being equal she should be able to compress their shields. As a fallback she can warp space so that shots have a direct path to their back and we take take the out that way.

Worth trying, at least, although we should probably have a backup plan. Maybe Samus hitting a flank and working her way across, with Velocity and some backup hit the other side and do the same.

Although...hmm. The pirates might be trying to contain us. We should probably hit a flank and then punch through, get everyone out of the factory.

Oh, they're trying to capture Leviathan.

Or maybe just airlift him somewhere else.
They probably want to do science to him, despite that being such a terrible idea. But then again, Space Pirates.

Or drag him here.

But uh, about the enemy distribution...

First off they don't have us surrounded. Secondly the north-west section is kinda weird, like a group is trying to get closer to us than the rest of them.

Uh, also the crawl tanks are IN FRONT of their cover?

Kinda trying to figure out why...

Just Zetas and militia? And why would militia be behind the cover while the killbots aren't? Either this is some kind of illusion or they just diverted part of their Leviathan-capture force to try and keep us from interfering.

[X] Plan A
-[X] Samus rushes as fast as she can behind shield projectors to take them out one by one.
--[X] If able to have MP tag her armor so that she can port to Samus to provide backup when taking out targets and move back to the roof afterword so she isn't in the middle of enemies.
---[X] Samus should also try to take out the tanks as well in between traveling to various shield projectors.
-[X] Flyers should focus on enemy aircraft, inform them about it's front vent weakspot, keep moving to avoid being hit, and afterword provide support against rest of pirates.
-[X] Rest of heroes remain on roof till shield projectors are down then work together to fight off rest of pirate forces with a focus on tanks after they are no longer protected and if Samus has yet to take them out.
--[X] Encourage them to never fight pirates on their own and watch each others back.

What do people think of this plan?

This sounds troublesome...
Troublesome indeed. The Space Pirates have already shown they're surprisingly good at reverse-engineering even the most esoteric and bizarre tech... I hate to imagine what they could do with an Endbringer.

Fortunately for us, the Endbringers have been jobbing hard, so I can only imagine how easily they'd fuck up the Pirates if they wanted. :p

Edited.

[X] Plan C
-[X] Have flyers target the enemy aircraft, focus on their front vent weak points, and have Vista warp distance between them and the targets so they can hit them hard and fast.
-[X] Have Weaver bring up as many alien sea creatures from the nearby ocean as she possibly can and sic them on the pirates encirclement behind their shield projector lines from the south and east directions.
-[X] While distracted by both the flying heroes attack on their aircrafts and the incoming sea creatures Samus will run as fast as she can behind the shield projectors (starting from the northeast to outflank pirates) and take them out one by one focusing only on them first.
--[X] Have MP tag Samus armor (if possible) and the roof so she can port in and out to provide Samus backup during her hit and runs.
-[X] Other heroes on roof are to stand back till shield projectors are offline but till then are free to providing covering fire to flying heroes and take out as many tanks as they possibly can from their protected position with their ranged weapons.
-[X] Once the aircrafts and shield projectors are down all heroes will focus on taking out tanks and then remaining pirate forces.
--[X] Encourage no matter what that all heroes stay close together to guard each others' backs and keep moving so to not be overwhelmed.
-[X] Have Weaver and her bugs be on lookout for any surprises the Pirates might try to pull and possibly warn us about stealthed enemies.

At this point, everything on the Worm side of this crossover (except Scion, MAYBE) has been rendered useless in the face of the Metroid side: the Space Pirates can basically laugh off anything Earth-Bet has, and even the handful of capes who have managed to stay even mildly effective did so by just respeccing with Metroid gear.

Worm, in its entirety, is just utterly inferior to Metroid threats in every way, to the point where Weaver's entire claim to fame now is that she can hijack certain bits of Metroid bullshit for her own use. Nothing about the Wormverse in this crossover is really special or impressive - the Metroid antagonists just casually outclass or mass-produce everything it has to offer.

I'm starting to think this quest might have worked better as a fusion than a straight crossover, because having one half of the setting be hilariously useless and outclassed in every way by the other just feels like a narrative mistake.

The Chozo statues blocked Leviathan's hydrokinesis, remember? He's SOL.

Well, you're not the only one who's got similar sympathies... @ImmortalsBlade, what's your response?
