Harry And The Shipgirls: Prisoner of Shipping (A HP/KanColle Snippet Collection)

Sorry for no snips today, but have some pictures of Hachi and Fubuki in uniform:

Bonus due to not being SB and thus allowed...

In AL Mass is very happy about Jean Bart being complete, mainly because she didn't like fighting someone who couldn't fight back properly. So, here, it makes sense that she wants to meet the one who helped JB with her incomplete state. What I really don't get is the ship between Mass and JB...
Oh yes and I assume she'd be happy to meet him. Ron just doesn't get out all that much in comparison to some so he's practically never met an American at this point. The RN doesn't really need additional battleships around so they don't stop by often.

As for the ship... personally I hate it and it's mainly pushed by that one artist just never stopping. So I ignore it as best I can.

Yeah... I can get behind Kirishima and Washington because Kirishima is the aggressor and was just in awe of Washington's skill as not just a ninja but a near perfect predator, stalking her and unleashing all of her power and passion. But Mamie and JB? That's not a fight and Massachusetts would hold no joy in it since she was basically shooting a hobbled opponent who couldn't maneuver or escape and whom she would have much preferred not fighting at all except for Vichy and stubborn pride. I can see them as friends but not shipped.

"How good is it that it's not canon and that it's just fiction right people?"

Um...

This feels totally disconnected, like you're just venting by writing out some random powerful OC murdering a bunch of people or something.

EDIT: And by that I don't just mean the quoted part, I mean the entire snippet seems disconnected from the whole thread.

Castle Moulbaix, Belgium

Father Jacques raised an eyebrow at the flour trail leading through the doors of the chapel.

I see little Imps are at play. :p

He shook his head fondly, noting that the hue and cry was starting to die down from where Misaki Fujii and Chihiro Arakaki had just tried to 'help' Ehren while she was baking cakes for her cousin Kenshou and for the household.

Ah! So thats what the flour was being used for.

He smiled faintly, folding his hands inside his cassock, then idly paced towards the sacristy, totally not following the flour trail at all. After all, what flour trail, certainly the youngsters wouldn't violate the sanctity of the chapel and sacristy with their mischief, non?

No sir! Theyre just.....taking a bit of a rest in the sacristy. Thats theyre story and theyre sticking to it. :D

He managed to keep his face perfectly serene, while wanting to smirk, as he entered the sacristy and busied himself with checking over the sacramental vessels, humming Frère Jacques while he worked.

Really Father Jacques? A bit of a pun and on the nose to be humming that dont you think? :D

A strong and confident set of steps sounded from the chapel outside. He immediately identified the familiar footsteps of Colombe. Clearly the authorities were diligently searching for wrongdoers.

Justice will not be denied. :p

Colombe barked a laugh and leaned against a pew, her lips tugging in a smile. "One might say that. Attempting is the word that I would use. Ehren was preparing an apple cake for her cousin Kenshou, and they snuck in to 'help' her taste test the batter while her back was turned. The large bag of flour was spilled… onto Beethoven, as it turned out, who was trying to butter Ehren up for a taste of the milk." The smile widened. "He got butter all right! An entire stick's worth on the floor when the chaos truly started."

Feline Overlord Beethoven :* Meowww! Meow! Meeoow! Meeeeeoooowwww!*

*translation* There i was minding my own business, doing negotiations with the disciplined blonde one for milk when those imps dirtied me up! I demand recompense!

"Ach so." the elderly priest replied in a voice patterned on Ehren's, his own lips twitching into a grin for a moment. "I remember when I attempted to help my mother with baking a time or two. Did you know that a cloud of flour can be rather explosive?" he sighed. "My mother was most unamused, and I daresay that my backside made a rather intimate acquaintance with a wooden spoon after that little adventure."

I first learned about that years ago on Mythbusters. :D

"Fortunately, no permanent damage was done. And yes, I actually did know that powdered flour is explosive. I used that to explode a grain silo in Leopoldville during 1895 to get away from an assassination squad sent by Hippolyte to kill me.

Colombes stories as always are quite entertaining.

"I am an indifferent baker, truth be told. Any recipe past the most simple and I get lost in the details -- generally with disastrous results -- just as with my potion crafting. Ehren has the diligence her poor mother lacks to be a mistress of the kitchens."

At least shes being honest about her near lack of baking skills. :p

"Indeed, a wise and enlightened response, after all, the quality of mercy is not strained for the repentant at heart." he said with a grin, washing his hands and wandering over towards the closet where his vestments were hung… and where the flour trail terminated. "And no doubt penitent volunteers would be awarded with forgiveness… and mayhaps a taste of cake as well, no?

The good Father is obviously being the Good Cop here to the Imps. :p

"Well said, Father. I prefer Shakespeare personally. 'The quality of mercy is not strained; It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest; It blesseth him that gives and him that takes:'

Quoting the "Bard" is always classy.

That said, any such confession should perhaps be done soon, for I fear once that cinnamon apple cake is cooled from the oven, it will be boxed away and sent to Hogwarts and away from penitent stomachs…." She trailed off with clear anticipation. "Especially since those are the last of the Autumn crop of apples from my orchard; so fresh, sweet and tender! I can't wait for my lion's share of the other cake!"

Oh Colombe you bad cop you! :p

The elderly priest managed to keep a suitably grave expression on his face, even as he felt pressure on his foot as the imps tried to open the door. "Dear me, My Lady, I fear that there may be gremlins in the Sacristy."

Oh dear the Imps have evolved to Gremlins!? :D

"Mon Dieu! Gremlins!! After my apple cake?! We'll have to eat it now and leave the soiled pans for the latecomers!"

*Laughs till stomach aches*

Clearly the stage had lost a great actress in the Marchioness of Moulbaix and Chasteler when she took up her career as 'professional troublemaker'.

I gotta agree with this. :D

"I do believe we must summon Cortana to properly deal with such an infestation." he said wisely, as the pressure increased on his foot. "And, of course, reward her with a fresh slice of the apple cake for her service."

Theres the coup de grace!

The 'gremlins' at this point chorused out from the closet. "We're really sorry Colombe-sama!" "Really REALLY sorry!" "We won't do it again!"

Colombe restrained her triumphant smirk with a singular effort of will.

Colombe:* Smugs* I knew that would work, after all it worked on me when my Papa did it.

The good Father smiled a bit and removed his foot just as the next push occurred on the door, leading to a flour-spattered tanuki and jorogumo spilling out of the closet. "Oh dear me, I do believe that we have our gremlins." he said with a gentle expression of surprise. "And goodness me, will you look at the flour that they've tracked in! This will not do at all." he shook his head in sadness. "I do believe that the very well behaved children of the Castle have been abducted and replaced by gremlins, My Lady. We should ensure the safety of all, and especially the apple cake now that I think of it, before greater mischief should occur."

Kek! The good Father is still playing and teasing along the gremlins.

"I am eternally grateful that my mother did not know that charm." the priest said with a faint smile.

Ah! the old wash your mouth out with soap for using swear words trick.

"You and me both, Father. You and me both." Colombe said with a shake of her head as the Imps washed the taste out of their mouths. "They should be glad that I don't know quite where Papa put away the switches he used to tan my breeches upon occasion for things that were… sometimes my fault."

Only sometimes Colombe? :D

Suddenly a musical squee of joy echoed through Moulbaix, causing priest, rapier, and gremlins alike to look that way.

"What's gotten into Claire?" Colombe asked the room.

Father Jacques smiled beatifically. "I believe that my efforts on her behalf to secure permission to play the organ at Notre-Dame de Paris when we journey there this weekend may have borne fruit."

"Bless you Father!" Colombe replied.

Bless Father Jacques indeed. :D

Well, I'm going to start playing the Metal Gear Solid music next time we see them. Hopefully the Xenocidal F**KS don't show up and ruin everything.
Oh... I have plans.
Oh yes. If they're lucky, they'll run into the reincarnates while they're off-base. Let's just hope that in the time they're off searching their little community doesn't suffer a raid.
*Plotting Austrian Noises*
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you were asking about the Oni tribe, who trace their descent from the Japanese thunder and lightning storm deities.
No problem. I worded that badly.
So I ignore it as best I can.
You too, huh.
I mean, I don't really care, let them ship... as long as it isn't NTR. That's one fetish I hate.
I can see them as friends but not shipped.
Me too. For some reason, there is also Arizona/Tirpitz.

What… the… fuck
What did I miss?
From the reactions, a very out of the left-field snippet.
Which for us readers is nice when it leads to great snips like this one!
Then wait for the next one.

*smacks head against desk* Get those ideas pumping brain! I need to write about Mamie again!
As for the ship... personally I hate it and it's mainly pushed by that one artist just never stopping. So I ignore it as best I can.
Mamie: Someone seems to have mistaken how much I care for Jean Bart to be closeted romantic feelings. She's not my type people!

In the immortal words of Delenn: Abso-fraggin-lutely-dammit.
I've written as much that Mamie is wrapped up about that battle to the point she hates fighting. Everytime she fires her guns in anger, she sheds a tear for whoever is on the receiving end, because she can't forget the first time.

The most Mamie would show for JB is reverance, or putting JB's wellbeing before her own.

What did I miss?

I think Viper went unbelievably ITG.

I think Viper went unbelievably ITG.
That, for some odd reason, he fully expects me to go grimdark with the ending, where everyone Harry loves like Natsumi and the others die in the final battle, Umbridge takes over, and tosses him in Azkaban and the like.

Hence the "What the fuck".

But to change the subject...
Sorry for no snips today, but have some pictures of Hachi and Fubuki in uniform:

What about those pictures, huh?

...Oh.
Yes, that is WTF-worthy.
What about those pictures, huh?
I didn't think that it was worth mentioning, but they are great.
And since Fubuki was mentioned...

...Okay. That was funny. And adorable.

Thank you, thank you. I really do think it was very nice indeed.

That's why I'm here. That, and wanting to share my ideas with others.

Me too, me too, honestly.

Well... Now I'm a little motivated!

Good! Glad to hear it!

In AL Mass is very happy about Jean Bart being complete, mainly because she didn't like fighting someone who couldn't fight back properly. So, here, it makes sense that she wants to meet the one who helped JB with her incomplete state. What I really don't get is the ship between Mass and JB...

That makes a lot of sense, and they are good friends But just friends, especially since in HatSG Jean Bart already has the love of her life in Ron (and Ron's Fleet is complete with Isabella and then maybe Brigid's subordinate Temiere after Ron rescues her from the Department of Mysteries if RCNAnon uses that plot point that was discussed on SB). Also Mamie's pretty busy fighting int he Atlantic and Pacific, I suspect.

He had heard from the oni just how terrible the situation in the reservations was, how the guards made it obvious that they hated being there, hated those they were supposed to watch, and wished for nothing else but for them all to disappear. How the often lacked enough food for everyone and how often plagues decimated the population.
Now, under the attentive eye of the priest who lived in the church and happily handed out everything the refugees needed... they could build a home.
The hanyou hummed. Johnathan was still a mystery to him. Where did he draw those supplies from? What was the secret of his inhuman might? Who, exactly, were those comrades he spoke so fondly of?
... And most importantly... why did he forbid him and his sister from returning to the church's living quarters until called?
He shrugged. He would learn in the future. Of that... he was certain.

Great snip here and i'm looking forward to the answers of a few of those questions, honestly.

"I can?! Yes, Please!" shouted, before catching himself. "Ah sorry. Swords are... well they are something of a passion of mine. I always wanted to create something worthy of a lord and my father wanted to teach me... but he died before he could." A sigh, followed by an enraged scowl. "The plague was easily preventable, but the watchdogs refused to hand out medicine. Too much of a hassle." after a moment, he added. "I still miss him..."
A sympathetic smile. "I miss mine as well." Unsheathing the blade, he handed it to the smith. With wide eyes, he studied it. "I know I'm just a novice, but I can tell this is a good sword. Look at the Hamon! The flex! The balance is excellent... the weight... was it forged for you?" Yoshi shook his head. "No," he answered. "It was made for my father. it passed on to me when he remained behind to allow me and Hide to flee." The two looked into each other's eyes. For a moment, a sense of brotherhood. Then, the blade was returned.

This was a nice back and forth here. One minor suggestion for future formatting. It makes it easier to read if you do a single space between paragraphs (and when you change speaker as well, use a new paragraph), so the following would be:

"I can?! Yes, Please!" shouted, before catching himself. "Ah sorry. Swords are... well they are something of a passion of mine. I always wanted to create something worthy of a lord and my father wanted to teach me... but he died before he could." A sigh, followed by an enraged scowl. The two looked into each other's eyes. For a moment, a sense of brotherhood. Then, the blade was returned.

(That just reads better and is easier to follow.)

A large number of the oni had gathered around the pit, and two, the blue-skinned woman he wounded back then and his sister, were wrestling.
The crowd cheered for both of them. It was obvious that the pure-blooded one was stronger than Hide, but she lacked training, probably another side effect of living in the reservation: More than once did she turn the strength of her foe around.
With a mighty thud, Hide's foe found herself on the ground. Both cheers and leers rang out and bottles of sake exchanged hands. His sister helped the blue oni back on her feet, and they shook hands, both of them smiling.
"So... how was it?" he asked his sister. The smile brightened. "Ayami has quite a bit of talent. Once she got a bit of training, she'll probably beat me." Even if the two of them were only partly oni... they still enjoyed a good and proper fight against someone equal.

Nice scene here too, honestly.Especially showing that the reason the Twins are so good is skill and trainign versus just strength.

"There you are!" Johnathan's voice startled them, as well as everyone around them. How could someone this strong and big be this stealthy? An uncharacteristic cackle from the priest. "My squire taught me a thing or two. Everything is prepared. The ritual can begin."
"A ritual. For what?"
A smirk. "To find your lord."

Oh, this should be good....

A large map of Japan on the table, surrounded by a circle of salt and another of writing neither of them recognized. Finally, hanging from the ceiling on a thin strand of white thread was a purple... spinning top?... made from a purple crystalline mineral that shone with an inner light, almost as if it contained fireflies.
"What are we supposed to do? How is this..." Hide pointed at the strange scene before her. "supposed to help us with finding lord Nobunaga?"
Johnathan smiled gently. "It's simple. A spell like you described should permeate your being on a fundamental level. So... with a small sacrifice of life force, this..." he gently tapped the top on the string. "should be able to pinpoint the position of the ones you two are drawn to."

Good scene with the magical ritual and explanation of it.

"So... if I didn't disappoint Kate and Sharan... this should be the stronger pull. The one you found but who didn't remember. Hideyoshi." A nod from the twins. The priest poured a small pile of salt on that spot.

Nice symbolism there.

"The next go should be the weaker pull. Yoshi?" The brother stepped forth. Like his sister, blood flowed from his palm and fed the shaped crystal.
Again, it spun and spun and spun... until it came to rest on the southern edge of Honshu.
Johnathan's face turned grim.
"Yokosuka... I thought something along those lines." he sighed.
"Is there something wrong with this... Yokosuka?" Hide asked.
"Kanmusu. Many, many kanmusu. Do you know tsukumogami? Kind of like that but different. They are... born of the best qualities of a soldier. Courage. Honor. Diligence. Even compassion. All in the form of a beautiful young woman. They ignore most from of magical disguises, possess impossibly sharp spiritual senses, and... well... as strong and skilled as you are, if you drive a shipgirl to consider you a threat, not to herself, but to others, she will tear you apart."

Also a good explanation of Tsukumogami in ways they can understand. Since they were around for Nobunaga 1.0, they would know about them being a thing since one of Nobunaga's top subordinates (and a lover) was a tsukumogami in Kotegiri. A really really scary tsukumogami....

They realized just what he feared. What if Lord Nobunaga didn't remember either? What if he called for help with one of those... kanmusu were present?
...
But still, their oath demanded them to search for the Great Unifier's reincarnation.
A smile appeared on Johnathan's face.
"Still going to try it?"
A nod.
"Well then... I'll plan a route for you. That should cut down on travel time."

Well this should be interesting as to how it develops~~

A/N:
So...
Maybe the next part will be a meeting between Nobu and the twins.
Maybe it will just be sneaking into one of the most heavily defended places in Japan.
Sounds like fun, right?
Tell me what you think.
See you tomorrow, I'm aching all over.

I'm looking forward to it!

Sorry for no snips today, but have some pictures of Hachi and Fubuki in uniform:

No worries, HL, Sometimes the muse needs a day off!

And that is a VERY nice Hacchan indeed!

Bonus due to not being SB and thus allowed...

And an equally nice Fubuki doing her best to enjoy the beach!

One would think that after being involved with the Kignts of the Round Table and Charlemagne's Paladins, Morgana would be used to not be in control.

She's also used to getting her own way when it's something that she really wants. Having to start from scratch and then getting lost in a strange building that was a maze (and parts of it they went through weren't cleaned!) was quite... vexing.

True. The Americans he might have met would have been Jackie if he bumped into her at the First Task while grabbing drinks, plus Johnston, I suppose.

I agree with the JB/Mamie ship being a bad one.

True. It wasn't a fight at all. I agree with friends only.

I see little Imps are at play. :p

That's... one way to put it.

Ah! So thats what the flour was being used for.

Yep. Ehren was baking some Zimt-Apfelkuchen (cinnamon apple cakes) for her Hogwarts avatar to share with Kenshou, Pratibha and Amala, and also her other friends. Plus one for the household. And the Imps got wind of it....

No sir! Theyre just.....taking a bit of a rest in the sacristy. Thats theyre story and theyre sticking to it. :D

Certainly not hiding from a few irate du Chastelers. No sir!

Really Father Jacques? A bit of a pun and on the nose to be humming that dont you think? :D

The good Father is a bit of a troll (has to be to handle all the Muramasas) at times~

Justice will not be denied. :p

Oh no, no it's not being denied.

Feline Overlord Beethoven :* Meowww! Meow! Meeoow! Meeeeeoooowwww!*

Beethoven isn't a happy camper right now, oh no. Especially since Ehren has the hair dryer out for his benefit.

*translation* There i was minding my own business, doing negotiations with the disciplined blonde one for milk when those imps dirtied me up! I demand recompense!

*translation* There I was minding my own business, doing negotiations with the issuing commands to my disciplined blonde one house slave for milk when those imps dirtied me up! I demand recompense with pettings, more milk, and some chicken breast!

FIFY

I first learned about that years ago on Mythbusters. :D

True. Powdered clouds can be quite spectacularly explosive (although Colombe used grain dust for hers).

Colombes stories as always are quite entertaining.

Thank you! I aim to entertain with her!

At least shes being honest about her near lack of baking skills. :p

Yeah, which ties into the fact that she's explicitly shit at Potioncrafting.

The good Father is obviously being the Good Cop here to the Imps. :p

Well yes. Needless to say,t hey both know what's up with the Imps here.

Quoting the "Bard" is always classy.

Colombe is a very classy rapier indeed.

Oh Colombe you bad cop you! :p

Well yes, she's twisting the knife and knows it.

Oh dear the Imps have evolved to Gremlins!? :D

Indeed they have! Much to the adults' hidden amusement.

*Laughs till stomach aches*

Yep, Colombe's trolling them hard. As a side note, the kitchen got cleaned up magically; now Claire and Kasuyu are handling getting the cake out of the oven while Ehren washes the cat and herself off.

I gotta agree with this. :D

Oh yes. Colombe, of course, is stifling a smug smirk.

Theres the coup de grace!

Yep. They're seeing how long before the Imps crack and come clean.

Colombe:* Smugs* I knew that would work, after all it worked on me when my Papa did it.

Yeah, and the imps are getting some mild punishment by helping clean the pans and the chapel (plus the taste of soap). But all is forgiven and there will be cake.

Kek! The good Father is still playing and teasing along the gremlins.

Well yes. He's having fun with them.

Ah! the old wash your mouth out with soap for using swear words trick.

Yeah, a canon byproduct of the Scourgify Charm. Colombe knows it, so was goign to insure tht the Imps got their mouths washed out to remove the taste (she's not really mad, just needs to straighten them up a bit).

Only sometimes Colombe? :D

Colombe 'Not MY Fault!' du Chasteler: "Only sometimes. Other times one of my siblings was the ringleader and troublemaker who sucked me in."

Bless Father Jacques indeed. :D

Well he very much made Claire's day with this letter being delivered to her saying that arrangements to play organ at Notre-Dame de Paris are finalized.

*smacks head against desk* Get those ideas pumping brain! I need to write about Mamie again!

Yeah, I know the feeling.

Mamie: Someone seems to have mistaken how much I care for Jean Bart to be closeted romantic feelings. She's not my type people!

Yeah, just friends!

What about those pictures, huh?

They're absolutely awesome, honestly!

"Commander Bond! If you are done ogling like a school boy, we have a very serious situation on our hands!"

"Just assuring that everything is 'ship shape', sir."

Heh! Have a like, and a funny because I laughed. It's so true!

Watching as three of the "Newly launched" shipgirls hugged Harry to them, her sister included, Taihou softly smiled in pure joy, 'He really will be a great Admiral for her and for them…'

A chuckle made her turn some as Akiyama came up beside her, a smile on his own face, "It seems that your Imouto is quite pleased."

Only nodding, the Carrier chuckled some herself, "Hai, Denryuu-Chan is no doubt happy right now." Her voice then softened a little, "How her… wreck… looked has always bothered her. And she admitted that she always wished to have been launched."

Head tilting some in acknowledgement, Akiyama stroked his beard, "Indeed, which she has just been… And launched by someone she deeply cares for as well."

Glancing at him, Taihou decided to satisfy some of her curiosity, "If it is not too rude… do you have much issue with…"

Lips twitching some, the wizard shook his head, "No, I do not." He then gestured at the group slowly walking towards them, though it missed no one's notice that Ishikari and Miitake held onto Harry's hand while Denryuu had her arms over his shoulders as they walked. In front of them were the very amused forms of Ume and Sakura with Mihara bringing up the rear with a grin on her face, "No, as long as my Onee-Samas are happy, then that is what matters." Akiyama then glanced at his wives and smiled slightly, "Besides which, if I had much issue than I would be something of a hypocrite."

Understanding on her face, Taihou simply nodded, "I see." Once her younger sister was close, she gave him a nod as well as a polite goodbye before walking over to her sister. Nearly as soon as she reached her, the older Carrier swept the younger one up into a tight hug, "I'm so happy for you, Denryuu-Chan."

Despite the light blush as she hugged her older sister back, Denryuu was smiling brightly, "Thank you, Onee-Chan…" Pulling back a bit, she chewed her lip some, "I… about how I looked…"

Eyebrow raised, the older of the two snorted as she cupped her sister's cheek, "As Harry-Chan continually has told you, and as I have, it was beautiful, just like you."

With that, Denryuu ducked her head a little bit with red staining her cheeks, "Thank you, Onee-Chan…" She then paused and furrowed her eyebrows some, "But how…?"

Chuckles escaped from Taihou as she shook her head with a slight grin, "Harry-Chan had Hedwig-San fly up to me and tell me what was going on. Hence, I had to quickly buy the sake needed and rush through the Vanishing Cabinets, though apparently he had somehow cleared the way for me as well."

If anything, that made the blush on the younger Carrier's cheeks deepen as she turned to look at Harry, who was currently being "Huggled" from behind by Miitake, Ishikari not letting go of his hand despite her own blush, "… That is just like Harry-Chan too…"

Hum escaping from her Taihou nodded some, "Hai, hence why I have said that he will be a good Admiral for you and the others."

Looking over at Harry, Denryuu nodded a little bit with a happy smile, "Hai, I know… and I cannot wait for him to sign in my Crew Register."

Simply smiling at that, her sister hummed a little before pulling back, "I think that maybe we should head over to where Harry-Chan is at, Denryuu-Chan, hmm?"

That got her a nod from her younger sister before they did just that. As they came within earshot, they could see Akiyama speaking to his older sisters as he rubbed one leg, "… I'm afraid that I am not quite as young as I used to be, Onee-Samas. Nor have I been on my feet as often as I have today, hence I think that I am unfortunately done for the tour."

Both former Hitobashira only shook their heads and bowed a little, looking distressed, "Our apologies, Aki-Kun, we have forgotten about such things."

Just chuckling, Akiyama patted them on the head, "It is fine, Onee-Samas. Easy enough to forget after all." Glancing at Harry, he continued a little bit, "But I believe that I should be heading back until another day." The older wizard then turned to the younger one and bowed, "I leave my Onee-Samas in your protection and care, Harry-San."

In reply, Harry bowed back to him, "Hai, and I will take care of them, Akiyama-San."

Moments later, he blinked as the older man chuckled with a slight grin and a twinkle in his eye even as his older sisters blushed, "Oh, I am sure that you shall, Harry-San. But thank you anyways…"

Not long afterwards the Twins pulled away from the hug that they were giving their brother before he left through the Vanishing Cabinet. Though they did blush and giggle some as both Hina and his Crane Wife Sora made mention of using some of the muscle ache relief potion that Harry gave them later on with their husband. It wasn't too hard for them to guess what was going to happen if the smirks and light flushes were any answer.

Once he was gone, Ume and Sakura than turned towards Harry before glancing at the door to the outside. They could just hear the sound of Ishikari and the others outside before they smiled and closed the distance between them and the teenage wizard. Doing so, they pulled him into a hug with him wrapping his arms around her and Ume kissed him, deepening it with a hum. Nearly as soon as she pulled back, she was replaced by her sister who did the same.

Breathing heavily as she pulled back, and enjoying the feel of the two pressed up against him, Harry blinked a little with his lopsided grin on his face, "Wow… Don't know what I did, but I need to do it more often."

Giggles escaped the Twins as they looked at each other and both gave him another kiss before smiling at him, "For what you did with Ishikari-Chan, Miitake-Chan, Denryuu-Chan, and Mihara-Chan, Harry-Chan. You have no idea what that means for them."

With a glance towards the door, Harry shook his head a little bit, "Actually? I think that I do know what it means for them." His expression softened a little bit, "I've overheard them once or twice wishing that they had been at least launched. So when I saw the chance…"

Very slowly, the Twins nodded with Ume answering for them both, "You did so."

Smile growing on their faces as he nodded some, they shook their heads, "We really should have expected that from you, Harry-Chan. You always go for the extra mile for those whom you care for."

Just shrugging a little bit, Harry looked towards the door once more, lowering his voice, "There is also how I know how they looked and the like bothered them, Sakura-Chan, Ume-Chan. If launching them as they should have looked helps them… then I have no issue doing as much as I can to help that happen."

Yet again, the two smiled at him and shook their heads in amusement at the purely Harry statement that was.

Rather than say anything, however, the two simply pulled him for another kiss as his hands went to their hips. After that, the three made their way through the doors to the outside where the others were waiting for them. Nearly immediately, Miitake came over and draped herself over Harry's shoulders happily, "Hey, Harry-Chan, ready to continue spending time with us?"

Chuckles escaping from him, the teen grinned up at her before stealing a kiss which made her flush, "Of course, I always am after all." Looking out over the base now, which had lights coming on as the Sun sank behind the rim of the Caldera, Harry considered it before turning to the Twins, "Just wondering… but is there anything that you'll be taking back with you when you dismiss your rigging?"

Now looking out over the base, Ume and Sakura had considering looks on their faces as they hummed, "We are unsure as of the moment, we're afraid. The smelter and foundry along with their ruins will disappear when we dismiss our rigging, for it does not serve much of any purpose in the modern day. We believe that they wish to build a warehouse there or two." They waved their hands a little bit, "We have already demolished the old prisoner barracks and replaced them with proper ones. Most of the core places will have been replaced by copies of the original when we dismiss our rigging, however. Though some such as the power plant will need to be restarted."

Sakura then spoke for them both, "Though from what we have been told, as soon as we dismiss our rigging, the JMSDF will be sending in engineers and surveyors to take note of everything and start some minor work."

Only nodding as they began to walk, Harry considered what he had been told. For the most part, however, he enjoyed simply walking with the Twins and three shipgirls with him, Mihara having chosen to go back to Yokosuka alongside Taihou. Passing past one unused building, the teenage wizard blushed a little as he remembered what it had been used for according to Ume and Sakura. Except, how, there wasn't any "Oiran" and "Geisha" lounging on the steps anymore…

Instead, he shook his head some and instead watched as various personnel went about their business. Some going to bars and the like after a hard day of work as it were. For the most part, it was relaxing to see and listen to.

Briefly, Harry had an image in his mind, of a much older him striding down the very same street, though the sailors and personnel had much more modern uniforms and clothes. At his side, like now, was Ume and Sakura who leaned into him as usual. Yet, what caught his attention was the fact that both of them had rounded stomaches and absolutely glowing complexions.

Then… the moment was gone and Harry blinked some before smiling, 'Well… that would be kind of nice, I guess…'

Of course, that was when he heard arguing and turned as he noticed Hideaki and Chika at one of the roadside bars. Part of him was amused by the flushed cheeks that both of them had, either from frustration, anger, the alcohol that they were drinking… or something else considering expressions that flitted over their faces. The Kitsune made a gesture with his sake bottle, nearly beaning the witch beside him as his glasses slipped down his muzzle. Ducking under the bottle, Chika scowled, "Watch it, you mangy throw rug!"

Grin on his face, Hideaki leaned in towards her as the witch's flush deepened, "That's not what you said last night~" His grin became downright perverted as his next words caused spittakes as he looked down at Chika's lap, "But if there is one possibly mangy place if you don't take ca-oof! Ow!"

Utterly red in the face, Chika began to smack him over and over, "SHUUUUT UP! Y-Y-YOU ERO-"

Before she could finish, the Kitsune dodged one of her smacks and kissed her, the witch blinking for a moment before relaxing. When they finally pulled apart, Hideaki chuckled, "Well, that is one of the reasons that they invented shaving charms~"

It took a moment, but soon Chika was back at trying to smack him as she realized what he had said.

Dodging around said hits with long time practice, Hideaki sighed a little, "Ah, but I tell ya, Chika-Chan, if only we could have finished those two ships! They would have been grand! But instead, we scrapped them because of those fucking morons…" Pausing for a moment, he tilted his head before shrugging, "Well, they wouldn't have made any actual difference, but would have been nice to see them set sail though."

Intrigued, Harry cleared his throat which got Hideaki to turn around and blink at him, "Hideaki-San? What ships are you talking about?"

For a moment, the drunken Kitsune blinked before nodding, "Oh yeah, you wouldn't know about them." He then gestured beside him, "Pull up a stool or somethin' and I'll tell ya about them…" A slight smile appeared on Hideaki's face, "Hopefully they show up with any luck."

The bartender rolled his eyes, but made a motion with his wand which made a barstool appear beside Hideaki. Sitting on it, Harry tilted his head some, "So, what sorts of ships are we talking about?"

Chuckling, Hideaki grinned a little as he took a sip of his drink, "Battlecruisers…" Trailing off, he furrowed his eyebrows some, "… Or were they Heavy Cruisers? Super-Heavy Cruisers? I mean, they were large and the Americans called those Alaska Class 'Large Cruisers'…"

Extremely amused by the drunken muttering, Harry cocked an eyebrow in interest, "So there were other Battlecruisers here?"

Rolling her eyes at how the Kitsune engineer blinked, Chika sipped her own drink, "Got it in one, Harry-San." Setting down her drink, the witch turned towards him, "You've met Yamatai from what I heard, right?"

Very slowly, the teenage wizard nodded a little even as he noted that Ishikari and Miitake were listening intently on what was being said, "Hai, she's actually one of my Sensei for Onmyoudo."

In reply, Chika blinked at that, "Huh, now isn't that interesting?" Shaking her head, she let out a breath, "Well, her design came from a series of Battleship studies done back in the late twenties by my own Sensei, Fujimoto-San, and Hideaki's Sensei, Hiraga-San. In particular, one for a twenty-five thousand ton Battleship. Had to do a bit of work to make it all, well, work, but…" The witch motioned with her hand and gave a "What can you do?" sort of shrug, "But the ones we're talking about were smaller at twenty thousand tons."

It was then that Hideaki spoke up some as he put his own drink down, "We knew that it was possible, mind. The Espana Class were even smaller and had eight twelve inch guns in four twin turrets. Damn slow and not that much armor on it though…" Grimace appearing on his face, he shook his head, "Sensei was brilliant, believe me, but we had a hell of a time making it actually work to say the least. We're talking a Battleship with nine, twelve inch guns in three triple turrets that's only twenty-thousand tons in displacement, and a speed of twenty-five knots. Hard to make work doesn't even begin to say it… Until, that was… I had a thought." Rubbing his chin, he grinned a little, "What if, instead, we tried to make a Battlecruiser from it?"

Leaning back, the witch had a fond look on her face, "Hideaki-Kun and I spend untold nights just working together on it, pooling what we knew." She made a motion with her hand and shook her head, "First thing we did was cut down the amount of guns from triples to just three, twin turrets. That gave us a lot of weight savings right off the bat. Secondly, we got rid of the underwater torpedo tubes and replaced two of the casemate five inch guns near the bow on either side with quadruple torpedo launchers. Once more, a bit less weight, which helped. As did with the fact that with metal strengthening potion, we could shave off two inches of armor from the belt, which meant lightening it more, while still getting the same amount of protection."

Another bottle of sake arriving, Hideaki poured some out and took a sip, "Finally, thanks to the fact that we were using doubles and not triples, we were able to stretch the design. It was basically done before we got word of the new boilers that the No-Maj were using in the reconstruction of the Kongou Class… those we grabbed examples of for them."

Softly snorting, Chika shook her head, "Though that led to several weeks of near sleepless nights as we were being driven to finish the design and quickly. But we managed and from all the tests, calculations and such… they would have been able to hit at least thirty knots, possibly up to thirty-three." Grabbing some nuts, she chewed them before swallowing, "Laid them down in 1936…"

Noticing the somewhat sour looks, Harry frowned, "What happened?"

Massive scowl on his face, the Kitsune shook his head, "Fucking Kamo is what happened when the war broke out." Rolling his eyes, he grumbled, "Bastard decided that they were not big enough, or strong enough with rumors of MACUSA having Cruiser-Killers of their own. So he ordered them scrapped and their materials to be used in building bigger, more powerful ships. And the two of them were nearly fucking done at eighty-five percent completion." A sigh escaped from Hideaki and he shrugged, "But, that was Kamo for you, bastard was a complete and utter fucking moron to work for at the best of times, always wanting more. They were not even the only ships scrapped at that time to make way for his 'Perfect, Heavenly Fleet', the prick. All that damn work…"

After a few more minutes of talking with them, Harry left with a look of deep thought on his face. Glancing at him, the Twins tilted their heads a little and hummed, "Thinking of the ships that you were told about?"

Very slowly, Harry nodded as he glanced at them, "Hai, I am… though…" He turned and looked at Ishikari and Miitake, "I'm kind of glad since otherwise I might not have met either of you, Miitake-Chan, Ishikari-Chan."

Flustered at those words, the Tsundere Battlecruiser looked away, "W-why do you need to say things like that!? Jeez…" After a moment, however, she turned her head and kissed his cheek before huffing, "But, um, thanks, I guess…"

Lips twitching some, Harry chuckled a little, "You're welcome, Ishikari-Chan."

That only caused the blush on Ishikari's face to deepen, even as her younger sister giggled some before giving Harry huggles as a thank you on her part.

Her voice then softened a little, "How her… wreck… looked as always bothered her.
"Mou, the Mizuchi stole the H from has..."
You always for the extra mile for those whom you care for."
Go.

"...added an L to taking..."

Remove.

Well, those two battlecruisers are almost certain to show up, now that they've been foreshadowed.

That design sounds a lot like the Alaska prototype sketches MACUSA used for their cruiser-killers, albeit about a decade early. Though, bow mounted deck tubes? On such a large ship?? That sounds like a great way to blow the bow off when firing the torpedoes, especially at speed.

Also, I should have the kitsune of MISSILES ready today!

That, for some odd reason, he fully expects me to go grimdark with the ending, where everyone Harry loves like Natsumi and the others die in the final battle, Umbridge takes over, and tosses him in Azkaban and the like.
Uh, what? Co Kurwa? Where did him get that idea? It's wrong, and it's fucked up. After all, it makes no sense and generally goes against the vibe of the series. It's not a world where everything has gone to shit, and omake it clear that it's cool in the future.
Pluta: I think some people like the darkness too much, or were just drunk.

That gave us a lot of weight savings right off the bat.
Wait. If I remember correctly, isn't there a spell to reduce weight? I think it was called the featherweight spell?
Why didn't they use that to just cheat physics? I don't know, not necessarily cast it on the whole ship, but on the appropriate parts to reduce its weight.
Or does it have some limitations on the durability of such spells? I don't know, please correct me if I'm wrong or if this discussion has already taken place and I missed it/forgot it

Not quite as near to the bow as you might think as this was the original design:
You can see the first two casemates that he's talking about replacing here. Note, this would be similar in position to the torpedo launchers that one can see in the Kai C rebuild for Kongou in the game.

(That just reads better and is easier to follow.)
Edited.

Nice scene here too, honestly.Especially showing that the reason the Twins are so good is skill and trainign versus just strength.
Yeah. They fought and lived through the Sengoku era, of course, they know a thing or two about the importance of subtility and skill. There is also the fact that they fought oni warlords for both Nobunaga and Hideyoshi.
If they and Musashi were to meet and fight, Musashi would still dominate them, but she would be very happy with their skill level.
Good scene with the magical ritual and explanation of it.
Thank you. Saw something like that in a Dresden Files fanfic once.
....
I should get to read them in the future. Preferably in english.
Also a good explanation of Tsukumogami in ways they can understand. Since they were around for Nobunaga 1.0, they would know about them being a thing since one of Nobunaga's top subordinates (and a lover) was a tsukumogami in Kotegiri. A really really scary tsukumogami....
Oh, I know. They also remember the scary katana lady with a thing for decapitating people she didn't like. They also know that she was the sword. Kotegiri will play a role in the future of this series. Perhaps Dojikiri too. She's free, right? Serving the Imperial family?
Well this should be interesting as to how it develops~~
Look forward to it.

Have some art.

A/N: So, here's the first of the Natsumi-Louisiana cruiser twins. Hadake still needs a translation idiot-check though.

Foxy Cruises I

"Thank you Sendai-oba~!" Kei chirped as she bowed in the doorway. The Inari Kitsune strike cruiser then spun round to leave, only to find her near twin glaring at her.

"Seriously Petite Soeur? You're still going into that Yasen nonsense? We're AEGIS ships! If we're stealthy, we aren't scanning. If we aren't scanning, we're dead. Leave the sneaky stuff to Lou and the other subs and act like the battleship successor you are!" snarled Alexandria as she pinned her duskier sister with her amber gaze.

Kei snorted "You keep forgetting that we're kitsune too, Dria-nee. Being tricky with illusions and misdirection is in our nature just as much as gun duels and clearing the sky." Wrapping her five tails around her elder sister, she continued with a smirk. "Besides, most of my lessons are from Nevada-oba~"

The leadship apparated out of her little sister's grasp with a frustrated scream, before grabbing the other girl by the ear. Further action was, however, cut off by the sound of a clearing throat. "And just what are the two of you up to?" asked Admiral Harry Potter-Nagato.

Both cruisers yelped and pulled apart, chorusing "Nothing Tou-san!" in their best innocent tones. Harry, being long familiar with kitsune, merely rolled his eyes. "Rhetorical question girls. Alexandria, stop fighting with your sister over tactics. Kei, stop needling Alexandria over her focus on her shipself. The two of you are sixteen, so please drop this argument. You've been at it since you first summoned your rigging ten years ago. Your mothers and I are tired of it, as are all of your siblings."

The white-haired duo sagged. "Yes Tou-san..."

Harry nodded. "Excellent. Now I believe the two of you have gunnery practice soon."

Sapphire blue eyes met their golden counterparts, before the daughters of Natsumi and Louisiana bolted for the docks.

"USS Alexandria, reporting!"

"JS Hadake, reporting!"

Pennsylvania fixed her trainees with a level gaze, before speaking. "Alright girls, today I will be sharing my vast experience in shore bombardment with the pair of you. While your 8" guns don't quite measure up to my 14"s, these lessons will be of immense value to you in fire support missions and, hopefully, gunnery duels. Don't bother claiming that your fancy cruise missiles negate the need to engage enemy fleet units with artillery, combining a missile platform with old school armor and cannons is the entire point of you CSGNs."

"Just remember that you are cruisers and are armored as such. Do not try getting into a slugging match with anything carrying heavier than a 155mm, because you have no idea if some bitch of a Princess may have loaded her ships or shore defenses with AP. Your armor may be better than any previous cruiser has ever carried, but the same metallurgical advances that made you will also improve the penetration of your enemy's fire. If engaged by something larger, feel free to dump five rounds and a couple Tomahawks into the offending battery."

"Now, for today's drill we have an Isolated Island Demon outfitted for the Korean War sitting on an emergent island fifty-five miles west of Aogashima, who thinks she's hidden well enough to avoid notice. You will be disabusing her of that. While this may seem a bit much for a training exercise, this Demon is poorly equipped, having only Tu-2 variants and 130mm guns. Shipwise, there's only a basic Ho-class and four I-class, one of which is Elite. All five Abyssal units are probable ex-strays and a good ten years out of date. Over all, there is little risk here and your parents have signed off on the task, along with the USN and JMSDF."

"We do not expect you to kill the Demon, though I doubt there would be more than token objections if you did. Instead your goal is to destroy the air field, shore battery, and dock facilities. As this is gunnery training, your primary mode of attack will be your cannons, though of course you are to use your actual air defenses against the planes. Any questions?"

The twin strike cruisers exchanged a look before chorusing "No ma'am! Ready to deploy ma'am!"

A smile on her face, the venerable Standard replied "Excellent. Form up on me then. Cruise speed of 10 knots."

Eighteen miles north of the unnamed isle, two massive polymer and steel pistols rose, angling to 41 degrees. Mark 25 HC shells slid home into waiting breeches. Aboard CSGN-01 and CSGN-02 crew members fed GPS data into the fire control systems, further refining targeting solutions from satellite telemetry. Illusionists both human and yokai put their finishing touches into a growing false fog and radar scattering shroud.

Kei scowled momentarily as a wind gust tossed her flowing Thayer Blue scarf across her face. Huffing, she brushed it aside with her free hand before tucking the offending portion into her rigging. Briefly checking her gun's positioning, she then called "Hadake, ready to being fire mission!", echoed a moment later by her sister.

"Fire," Pennsylvania ordered simply.

Twin gouts of flame erupted from the fore-decks of the twenty-thousand ton cruisers as their Mark 32 naval rifles roared. Six seconds later, another pair of shells were hurled forth on slightly differing trajectories as the kitsune shipgirls began raking the target area with cannonfire. Over the course of two minutes forty-eight rounds were expended, before their guns when silent.

By the time the twins ceased fire, 260 pound VT-fused munitions were detonating over the airfield, sending red hot fragments scything through unprepared planes and support vehicles. Even as the Demon howled in rage, more shells, this time contact fused, rained down upon the docks, blasting craters into ship and structure alike on impact. For three minutes explosions rippled across the Abyssal facility before abruptly halting, leaving all four destroyers sinking while the light cruiser burned alongside the shore infrastructure. None of the five having managed more than discarding their camouflage before falling.

Giving her drone feed an appreciative review, Pennsylvania nodded to her students, "Excellent work so far girls. Now for the hard part, as the shore batteries are much more thoroughly concealed. I've marked several possible locations based on firing arcs and topography, but you are to use your best judgement in actually picking targets. Should you not be able to clear the hostile batteries before you've depleted your magazines you may start up a missile bombardment, but I believe that will be unnecessary. You may begin when ready."

Exchanging massive grins, the cruiser twins started calculating firing solutions for locations across the island. Shortly thereafter, they spoke as one, "Commencing bombardment!" and let loose with their 8" cannons once more.

Within moments of the first shells of the latest barrage impacting, the Isolated Island Demon tore free of her hidden shelter and, shrieked her rage, began return fire with her nine 130mm guns while attempting to tear away the twins' fog bank with her power. This, however, only drew fire directly to her core self and the addition of VT-equipped Type 3 rounds on the part of Hadake. Under withering fury of this assault, the Demon rapidly crumbled and burned until one of her magazines detonated and she finally fell.

Back offshore, Kei and Dria high-five'd and cheered as their instructor radioed in the results. A flick of a tail from the camouflaged sister dissipated the concealing illusions as a smug smirk formed on her dusky face, "See, told you our kitsune skills are useful in battle~" She then winced as an apple bounced off the back of her head.

"Oi! Knock that off Kei-chan! I know Tou-san already told you to stop that!" shouted Akizuki, who had thrown the fruit.

Well, that took longer than anticipated, but I finally got Lt. Muse to cough up the parts I needed to get this together. What do you guys think?
