Hakazin Plays: Mods for Hearts of Iron 4 (Old World Blues) (ON HIATUS)

Looking back, the moral part of me isn't feeling to hot on annexing Vanhoover. I'm not going to change my vote; the rolepayer and the wargamer are still in a winning coalition. But still.

Maybe I could channel these feelings into another omake. Battle of Vanhoover, perhpas?

[X] 'Secure' Vanhoover!

Let's make the map look nicer.

If you wait too long to reclaim breakaway states, then griffonian nations will start to guarantee them once thing are less chaotic on that continent. Kinda annoying when Harmony Aquilea went to war over the confederacy.

A teaser of something that hopefully will not be in the next update, as the game crashed and I don't want to risk replicating it again.

The Empress' plans for the defeat of the Changelings are entirely deliberate.

So apparently the devs decided that the portal leads to Kaiserreich. This will have interesting implications for post Wektkreig Earth. What with potentially hostile powers on the Equus side. Except when we played as dread league ironically

(And now for your proper update...)

[X] 'Secure' Vanhoover!

We would have still been making fruitless speeches if We hadn't been willing to take the opportunities presented to Us. Notify the troops! We retake the city at nightfall!

Or, well, in a couple months. But who's counting?

The war proceeds apace, with the concentration of Our troops in the south steadily pushing the Changelings back.

Though We should redirect some troops to further up the battleline. There's an awful lot of armored divisions up there…

That paid off! The Changelings were about to begin an armored push when Silver Soldier's forces arrived, but were unprepared for the increase in troops. Had We not intervened, things could have ended badly.

With that dealt with, Our troops can return to preparing a push against Vanhoover.

Directing a war is an exercise in constant reaction. Constant adjustments have to be made to the positioning of troops and plans in order to ensure there are no weak points to be exploited.

(In other words, I don't know what I would do without a pause button)

The Vanhoover Commune presents an unacceptable strategic risk, both in the short and long term. It must be secured with all due haste.

In the meantime, winning the war will require a lot more guns. It would be best for us to start building them.

Crushing Vanhoover under our hoof is going much more successfully than the main front. Although there is probably a joke to be made about 'Picking on a target our own size'.

By the end of the month, Vanhoover's forces were reduced to the city proper, and a number of sparse coastal pockets…

With them falling by October. Now Our forces can refocus on the main war.

Which is taking some time to finish, and is not as comfortably in Our grasp as We would like it to be. Perhaps fully dedicating the country to finishing the full-scale war would be a good idea? We had drawn up some initial ideas for such a plan during the civil war, but had never had time to implement it, despite the obvious advantages. Of course, such a plan would involve an effective halt of reconstruction efforts, which would not sit well with Our Little Poni-

Oh dear Us, We think We nearly just started imitating Our Sister.

[ ] Implement The War Plan
[ ] Do Not Implement The War Plan

[X] implement the war plan

Also F whatever Kaiserreich timeline has to deal with the Solar Empire and changelings

[x] Do Not Implement The War Plan

Getting back War Support and Stability lost to the plan is a big pain.

[X] Do Not Implement The War Plan

The boni are tempting, but nothing we can't get through other focuses, and at less cost. Besides, it would rather difficult to restart reconstruction after it had stopped...

Also, was that Stalliongrad helping us in the teaser? Did not think that was possible.

Finally, now I have ideas for NMM negotiating with Kaiser Wilhelm II. This is troubling, considering I'm already working on the Battle of Vanhoover omake.
