As I see it, it's a win-win. Either they submit to us thus expanding our domain without the costs of a war or they don't and we go to war anyway, it has all the benefits of the military conquest option without any costs.
We might as well give Djavulen an offer. If he refuses, we can declare war anyway. And besides, maintaining the overtures of diplomacy will mollify the Equestrians.
With Kemarskai having the temerity to not simply roll over and die, the rebellious generals Sunwing and Rosetail have signed a ceasefire agreement, in order to focus their efforts toward the Republicans.
The troops are readied, and our demands have been drafted. All that is left is for our ambassador to deliver it to King Johan. He would be a fool to refuse our protection.
In the meantime, further resources will be directed toward building up the Hive of Vraks. Already a center of our military production, efforts are being directed toward clearing the surrounding forest in order to provide fuel and space for expansion.
Despite the lack of response from the Olenians so far, our demands have already drawn condemnation from the Equestrians. Of course, they are extremely unlikely to do anything about it…
Apparently, King Johan was quite annoyed with our diplomat interrupting his inspection of some religious site in Hjortland to deliver our demand, and responded to our perfectly reasonable request by defenestrating the ambassador. Clearly they want to do this the hard way.
Well, if it's the hard way they want, then it's the hard way they'll get.
Our armies are doing even better than expected! Despite some token efforts at fortification, our better equipped and more numerous divisions are burying the Olenian army in a tide of bullets and bodies.
The Stalliongradians annexed some minor, independent village today. Hardly important.
Apparently bird-brain over there doesn't approve of our actions. Not like we care, of course.
And, of course, we can't possibly forget about Princess Sunbutt and her patented 'Stern Disapproval' act.
The Conquest as the New Year rolls around. Although not going quite as well as some would like it to, we are clearly winning.
With Vaverfront having fallen to us, the easiest way for the Deer to flee has been cut off, and we can make sure that as many Olenians as possible are… under our protection, shall we say.
With the writing clearly on the wall, the Olenian King has decided to surrender fully to us. Chrysalis is pleased with this development.
With Olenia being fully integrated into Changeling territory, we have now effectively doubled our industrial and resource base! This is very good for us.
With the West secured, we must now look East. The Polar Bears, despite not having much of use, still represent a potential threat. We will send someone to them to… secure our relations.
With forest clearing efforts proceeding apace, the question of what should be improved has come up. We can either use the now-cleared land to build more factories, or we could simply divert efforts into improving production in the already-established ones.
"The world is changing. Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of the Changeling Lands? To stand against the might of Queen Chrysalis and the union of the hives? Together, my Queen, we shall rule all of Equestria. The old world will burn in the fires of industry. The forests will fall. A new order will rise. We will drive the machinery of war with the sword and the spear and the iron fist of the Changeling. We have only to remove those who oppose us."

"Equestria was the source of the Industrial Revolution, but not the driver of it. The social triggers simply were not there... Until they needed to do far more, with far fewer bodies."

I'd write something for this, but you guys already did it for me.
Though, to be honest, those lines would really be more suitable for a Sombra playthrough.
Also, I missed this last update, but Suntail's Junta appears to have won out in the north.
In Longsword, the rebellious military has defeated both the partisans and the Reformisten government, and have formed their own state. Although not openly genocidal toward the Pony population, it is clear that although all may be equal in the Longswordian Governate, Griffons are still more equal than Ponies.
With the minor Hives under our wing, we can now direct efforts toward bringing them up to a proper standard. No more shantytowns and squat castles, bring in the apartments and monolithic towers!
Our envoy is about to be sent to the Polar Bears, but wants to finalize the specifics of our request first. Mathair Fearrainn is far to the north, and will take some time to reach, and even more to return from. The envoy will likely end up having a fair amount of leeway, and so they wish to know the specifics of Chrysalis' interests in the region.
The two main things that the Polar Bears have that we want are large, untapped supplies of resources, and large, untapped supplies of gold. Naturally, being large and ungainly, they have not managed to exploit the resources to their advantage. We could only demand one of these, or we could demand some territorial adjustments in addition.
Of course, if they decline our generous offer, we will have to decide what to do about it. We could just invade, but the Jägers stationed on the border are firmly of the opinion that they could cripple the Bears by themselves, forcing them to negotiate without the need to justify a war.

Also, @Yard1, two things. One, you really shouldn't hide the 'has_country_flag = flag_CHN_negociations_ended' tooltip in the focus. It confused the hell out of me as to why the focus wasn't available to pick until I dug through the code. Maybe have it show up as "Our envoy has returned" or something similar in game?
Second, one of the things I've adjusted in my personal submod was a slight rewrite of the Generic Griffon political tree, in order to facilitate cases of ideology-switching, and to get the AI to not make odd decisions as often. Watertowns had an odd habit of consistently going fascist before I tweaked things, and it was bugging me. Maybe you could work something better out on your end?
There is always use for more land and resources, I wouldn't mind Gold but this is good too.
[X] Threaten the Bear
If a more limited strike can achieve our objectives then a full on war shouldn't be necessary, I'm all for warmongering but it's always better to engage in Jingoism in a sustainable fashion then the alternative.
