Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Let's hope Michael isn't too upset. Heck, let's hope Molly isn't too upset. As good as Molly is, I think she's learned guns are no joke, and as stated a kid's life is on the line while these guys are apparently evil Nazi cultists in league with maneating ghouls.

Ooh, AK.
Firearms charges at a minimum.

We should have tossed flashbangs before going in, just like we should have set off the EMP devices, so these guys should be blind and concussed and with the electronics disabled. And Molly is carrying her shield.
We shouldnt have to kill or maim them to put them out of action

Besides, they're thralls, not minions. Thrall is short for enthralled for a reason.
Unknown levels of mindwhammy in action.

This is one of the few kinds of situations I can see Molly using that one charm that makes people kneel in.

It sucks to be enthralled, but they won't be any less enthralled if we carefully subdue them to prevent serious injuries. The way mind magic works in DF, they probably won't be any better off if we gank whatever enthralled them to begin with, most likely Katrina in this instance.

These guys needs to go down just as fast as we can manage, whether that means lopping off their arms or shortening them by a head. Not only is it a mercy, it's also just makes sense in this situation. There are more armed thralls in this building and a large pack of Ghouls below it. The longer we take dealing with the first group of them, the more time we give the rest of them to get their acts together.

It's also possible some or even all of these men are hosts to Rage spirits. It isn't immediately apparent, but if that is the case subduing them sufficiently is going to be even more difficult and time consuming.

One third of our fighting force is a Knight of the Cross.
Their free will matters here. How we choose to approach this matters. Both in the immediate and the longerterm
At least, if we hope to get any use out of him here.

Molly took on two lycanthropes and Gorfels alone at close range with no shield.

Noone is sugeesting we allow ourselves to get killed.
But we stacked advantages, from avoiding the front door to EMP to flash bangs, precisely so we would have a little slack in what we're doing, and avoid having to go full lethality to assault this place successfully.

I don't particularly want to kill them, but we can't risk letting them get the alarm out or hurting our allies. That could have greater consequences then just a single life.
From a more cynical perspective even if we do mess up and have to dispose a corpse, we have an entrance to the Undertown right here.

Hmm, this might be another possible use for Medicine. We could hold back less and then stabilize those with mortal injuries. Less deaths on our conscience at least.

Trying my hand at stunting.

[X] Capture them, you don;t want to risk killing anyone
-[X] Closing your eyes to protect from the flashbangs already in the air you move from memory, throwing you shield at the arm of the one threatening dad, while ducking under their aim and dashing near to the ground to sweep the legs of the faux-angel with a shotgun. You then kick him mid-fall so he flies back, impacting the fellow with the AK. You open your eyes as the EMPs set to go off as you entered send the world immediately from the flashbang's blinding light into shadow, leaving you the only one with night vision to finish up.

Okay, yeah, I like this stunt.

Pass. That is WAY too rich for my blood.

Nationstates, businesses and criminal outfits kill for that sort of haul, and frankly Molly does not have the real world swag to play in those leagues. Not yet. Also, Colombian national waters. And the Colombians have already passed laws about that particular wreck, which has been the subject of litigation since the 1980s.

If more money is our priority for shatever reason , its 2006 in-universe.
The financial crisis of 2007/2008 is next year.
There's a killing to be made on the financial markets if we are interested and have the need, and a couple million to play with.

And thats ignoring the gold/gems route.
As an aside. This could be a really fun pirate adventure when we can safely store the loot in our soul realm.

Couple points
1)These are not Renfields. They are not dead men walking. Its not a mercy to kill them, its a convenience for us.
2)By V20 rules, a combat turn is 3 seconds. These are not long fights.
3)We have the initiative, and we should have them blinded and stunned post-flashbang. That has mechanical effects
4)There are consequences to leaving dead bodies in our wake, both short term and immediate.
▪Killing her thralls creates ghosts for our enemy to summon and quiz. If they are alive and in jail, noone to interrogate.
▪Longterm, we have potential issues with law enforcement and our Mentor 5.
▪Any survivors will likely snitch if there are any dead bodiesq

Remember, urban fantasy setting. There are Consequences to leaving a trail of dead bodies or obvious serious crimes behind you.

Finally, there are are only six armed thralls here. Four of them are in this room with the three members of our party.
Of that four, one is fumbling with the alarm that we already EMPd.
The other three are looking our way. We have two allies. This should not be a long fight.

I'll try and work out the fight mechanics here in a bit.

This stunt throws away our shield in the face of a shotgun and an AK.
That seems....unwise.

Doubt it will win still gonna vote for it killings got a lot of issues for fairly little gain. The girls in a warded area short term none of the ghouls are getting in there period. So thats less of a worry for me really.

Also might have to spend something like willpower to actually kill them its a pretty big leap for molly unless murders become somewhat natural for her which you know could be I don't know everything about infernal exalted lol.

@BronzeTongue, @lord2trp0522, @Yzarc, just a heads up, I'm switching my vote to the Capture option.

It's not so much that I have an issue with killing the mook thralls, but that @uju32 makes a good point about them potentially being more of a hassle dead than alive. We don't really know the nature of their enthrallment, how it was accomplished or what the long-term effects are, and when necromancers are involved the control may extend beyond the thrall's death. The last thing we need is for Katrina and her pals to get a warning from the death of a thrall when we've gone through so much trouble to prevent them from getting the word out electronically.

I wasn't sure what else to do about the gun facing dad, humans with guns are one of the KotC noted weaknesses. In retrospect I should also be more explicit about using the sword to keep using the Melee dice.

Having given it some more thought, how's this for a rewrite?
[] As you close your eyes to protect from the flashbangs already in the air you kick a chunk of brick at your feet from the destroyed wall into the face of the one threatening dad in a single motion as you lunge into the room. Moving from memory, shield up and dashing near to the ground, you sweep the legs of the faux-angel with a shotgun with the flat of your blade. You then shield-bash him mid-fall so he flies back, impacting the fellow with the AK. You open your eyes as the EMPs set to go off as you entered send the world immediately from the flashbang's blinding light into shadow, leaving you the only one with night vision to finish up.
