Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

So, they were already in contact with Odin. I amguessing he'll start featuring dragonblooded mercenaries soon.

[X] Hopefully trouble hasn't followed me so far, but there's certainly the wrong kind of interest afoot (Explain Anti-Bob's interest in Odin't actions especially the Kingfisher's purpose)

We pretty much have to do this with what we already disclosed.
One of the oldest tricks in the book is pretending you know more than you do to get people to share what you need to learn. I don't think it's wise to give the connection away until we know the game is up.

It's especially relevant because if Odin knew these people were linked to the dragon he wouldn't be sailing aimlessly around the sea looking for it. He'd follow the leyline to the source and do whatever he's planning to do.

I think we should try for a conversation short the Valkyrie, because she doesn't need free confirmation of anything.

Even mentioning the leyline is a mistake because it's natural for them to follow up on our business and that will lead them right to the dragon.

I think negotiations with Odin are something of a lose condition here, because he has so many ways to leverage our debt that it makes it significantly more difficult to work around him.

[X] No trouble, I was just following up on a lead I got from the Summer a couple months ago now that I had a free moment, then my own curiosity, it is uncommon to see works of magic so deeply entwined with those of modern engineering (Try to flatter them)

This one is still kind of misleading but it's way more likely than just following a leyline directly puts the fact that our attention is here because we have a free moment after dealing with the white Council scenario and where we got the intel on this region from on a different Court of faires.

Wow. This is a bitch and a half. I don't have the time to reiterate previous arguments on why we should avoid telling Odin what we're doing right now, nor do I have the time to write a vote, so that sucks. I'll put this here and get back to what I was doing.

Summer is a decent redirect, but cute hints have bitten us before. Recently even with the warlock cult.

When lying to or misdirecting someone it's important to avoid over explaining off the bat, there's a tendency to rush getting your story out there that pricks people's ears up. You also generally want to avoid using a hook that leads somewhere you know an answer might be found. Especially against someone who you know is good at information games and whose knowledge is unclear.

I have no idea if it's possible for someone outside the fey queens to know our price from Summer yet, but if anyone can it's Odin.

A better lead in my view would be something that's plausible but can't be verified and is generally attention grabbing enough to hold focus once you draw it there.

For example, we have a new hell portal and a reputation for weird information gathering abilities. "The baby demon queen wants to hire geomancers to screw around with her new gaping maw of hell" is an arresting thought.

[X] Plan Redirect
-[X] excellencies, FPoR, and any other applicable buff.
-[X] Attempt to imply that Molly is in the market for the assistance geomancers for something involving the portal in South America, but doesn't want to completely spill the beans to a third party.
-[X] [Stunt]: Molly replied, the words leaving an aftertaste like sapphire and subtle laughter as they left her mouth. "No trouble, not unless you count aftermath".
—[X] "Lets just say I've got a bit of a real estate problem I'm looking for expert assistance with"

Note that there is a risk that the Dragonblooded insist on keeping the Valkyrie here for the whole meeting. I don't think she will, but if she does then that's valuable information too. At worst we'd need to improv our way through a meeting about bartering for their assistance with building hell portal infrastructure, which is a topic I picked in part because it might actually be valuable to us.

I like Plan Redirect.

Both the Summer vote and redirect vote are terrible. Because they focus the attention on the prize. We don't want that. Telling Odin about Bob is not much of a problem, because it doesn't demonstrate Molly's knowledge about the exaltation / the thing in the dragon's belly. It deflects the conversation from us and Odin competing for the prizes to us and Odin cooperating on fighting evil spirits. We don't want Odin to consider us competition.

The redirect plan is terrible in particular. No one knows about the South America portal. No one should be read into South American portal. Please don't disclose vital information.

I very specifically mentioned when I wrote out the vote that it's still meant to deceive or draw attention away from the treasure.
This one is still kind of misleading but it's way more likely than just following a leyline directly puts the fact that our attention is here because we have a free moment after dealing with the white Council scenario and where we got the intel on this region from on a different Court of faires.
The summer vote very specifically does not mention the ocean at all we are here at a very specific place that does house Supernatural inhabitants while we've led into a conversation about investing then in flattering about intertwined magic in modern technology with a reference on how and why we know about said intertwining. "First you had my Attention (Summer) now you have my curiosity (Magitech). "

You'll notice it says we are here following up a lead unless Odin thinks we were told about a treasure it very specifically can be talking about this tribe of Supernatural humans that might be directly related to our own condition.

There is no mention of the treasure I have nothing to say about the portal I actually completely agree but that's not really for me to defend.

I want the lord of the hanged to essentially tip his hand by either mentioning something or trying to get us to leave which will unveil more anyway. Going to him first does nothing other than give him more opportunities to dissect our motive and our ability to suss out knowledge.

The entirety of the Red Court knows of it or will in short order. It's in their backyard and a major mystically loud event happened at its location.

Edit: The White Council probably also knows of it since they were there when it was made. The WC has issues with spys.

Edit 2: Actually the WC definitely knows of it since we were literally holding hands with them when we created the portal.

On This point there is a bit of a problem with the Redirect plan we just accrued a massive in with the white Council why would we be looking for geomancers help in the North Sea for geomancy when we just literally helped save the organization with the most powerful and numerous geomancers and ward masters on Earth. Instead of just asking them to help us

BoredMan didn't mean to single you out just I saw the white Council very specifically mentioned and I thought of it.
