Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Do we still have the mirror, in a usable condition, that we put Lash in, or was that lost when we moved her to her own body?

If your voting for answer as a Queen by itself I'd suggest adding the stunt. Even if you don't have a preference they add dice.

    - [X] "My own," you say forthrightly, drawing Cristos' eyes to yours for just a moment. "I offer this as Empress of the Fivefold Courts of Fate. As one who has the vision to see that the world need not be so cruel, and the means to help make it so. I offer this so that those who fall from the path might find their way back home, like a lantern in the dark."
    - [X] You cast your gaze out across the wizards gathered here - the Wise, some would say, but with wisdom can so often come pain, and the weight of years you can see etched on many a face besides the man you address.
    - [X] Finally, you bring your eyes back to Cristos - knowing that the lines upon his face bear guilt almost two centuries in the keeping - and you say your final words, daring to hope that you'll be able to inspire hope. "I offer this as one who wishes that those who have erred and gone astray need not bear that sin eternal. That, esteemed wizards of the White Council, is who I am, and why I am here today."
[X] Write-in: Answer as one who has once broken a law and been spared though the intercession of heaven and the work of ancient powers, given chance to grow, who now stands as a Queen in her own right, a power for the good of Creation

25st of February 2007 A.D.

The flash of a muzzle in the dark, a young man falling to his clutching at his chest as blood pools though layers of white linen and brown rugged wool, bright brass buttons are tarnished forever as the light goes out from his eyes in disbelief. A much younger Cristos stands over him holding an antique pistol—not so antique for the this hour before dawn on the rocky shore of of the Peloponnese, you know instinctively— The dying man tries to say something, a secret clawing to get out of his chest, but blood steals his voice and shock sends him under, never to reveal that the duel had been meant to be rigged from the start, just a game meant to prove the the authorities that the two men were not allied with the rebels in the mountains, that they were as they seemed foolish youths inheriting too much of their parents coin.

But young Cristos too had seen with eyes more than mortal that once would have marked him as a priest of Apolo or by that god cursed. He knew that nothing but the death of Andreas, for that was the name he would carve into the headstone in three days hence, would convince the commander of the Turkish garrison of their innocence. One or the other must die by shot or both would be hanged and the seer dared not reveal what he had seen, for magic feared and hated greatly or so he told himself. He had been willing to risk death for the freedom of his people, but not to embrace it. The choice had been no choice at all and it had been magic that tipped the scales even though no spell had been cast in the killing.

Man that just reminds me of what happened between Karađorđe and Miloš Obrenović back in 1817 just with less Game of Thrones type politics.

[X] Answer as a Queen

I think the lead-up to this given our political allies was pretty clear-ish. We learned from Carlos they think the Knights are suckers, and from Cristos even the faint link to Lawbreaking is a deep, dark, awful secret. This is not the time to bring up the issue of Molly's past crimes.

Especially because given most wizards think 'old Maeve or new Maeve is always Maeve', a lot of them will 'press x to doubt' that our mortal past matters anyway and view it as a cynical manipulation rather than sincere.

To that end, I'm very dubious on the stunt, but admittedly it's reasonably vague at least and it's probably past going for something else.

There's more to this answer than how it holds together about the topic at hand. How we reply will set the tone for how we're seen by the council at large because this will be the first time we formally address them.

Since we want diplomatic relations with them on behalf of the FCF and to work together for mutual ideological goals on the world stage we should probably make that impression first.

Yeah, he's clearly not trying to be confrontational (since he's not an idiot and definitely knows who Molly is), he's trying to see where Molly's coming from.

Heck, you could even see this as him setting Molly up for the verbal spike, in a certain light. He's playing the bad cop so everyone else can know what they're dealing with.
Is he even being bad cop on purpose? I mean addressing her as girl in this conte is rude, but remember who we're dealing with here.

Cristos is around a few centuries old and lives in an overt gerontocracy. Intellectually he knows better than to fully judge merit that way, or should as a wizard, but cultural norms are real bitch to shake.

Molly is all of 18 years old and looks it. He probably drinks liquor older than she is and has a hard time seeing anyone without a little grey in their hair as an adult.

This has been a rough day for the whole council, this might legitimately be the best diplomatic effort he can muster right now.

OK, fine, the arguments are convincing

Just out of curiosity, what do either/both of you think of the stunt I put in? @BronzeTongue in particular, I think it makes the sort of impression you're wanting us to make here, is there anything about it that either of you aren't convinced on?

Not even trying to change your minds necessarily, just genuinely wondering if there's some sort of issue with it that I've missed.

@DragonParadox are these valid prodigies?
Forged by Molly to deal with significantly physically larger threats such as the Dragon of Vegas, the Thousand headed and thousand horned, the lord of the Wicked City's Abominations and most recently the strange form of Thorned Namshiel. She forged her Long Arm.

A magnificent Greatsword formed from a near-black Metal, its lightweight metals and enchantments of its construction means it can be wielded with alacrity and accuracy with one hand as well as two. Its imposing presence is enhanced by a dark hue reminiscent of the night sky with a completely absent Fuller giving the strange appearance of an elongated bident with an array of seemingly glowing dots in vibrant shades of green and white, this weapon possesses an otherworldly allure the void of its Fuller seems to be waiting for a miracle to fill the void. These luminescent dots, scattered across its surface like stars in a dance. A weapon of divine quality.

The Long Arm is a large European Straight Greatsword roughly four and a half feet long. Attacks made with it are rolled at difficulty 5, it inflicts Strength + 4 damage against opponents larger than a rhino it deals an additional dice of damage. It does not require Attunement.

Greatsword EXvsWOD pg. 309 - Strength + 4 damage difficulty 7
Prima Metallum - lightness, -1 difficulty
Prodigy construction - +1 Damage to large foes, -1 difficulty
Directly patterned after her court's Silver Weave and using the same materials with a significant addition from her own stock of Alchemical materials. The Prima Metallum weave armor is made of interwoven ice spider silk, Military grade Alchemical ballistic gel and Prima Metallum. Covered in a near carapace of woven metal near invisibile sigils of the Court of Fate seem to move across the still weave of the surface independently of any motion, their magic seeming to buoy the wearer.

Prima Metallum Weave Armor appears to be a form-fitting suit of a particularly lustrous and dark metal and silver weave. Due to its prodigious construction it does not burden the wearer and grants 6 Soak and lowers the difficulty to soak damage by one. Requires attunement.

Silver weave armor - 4 Soak -1 Dexterity
Prima Metallum +1 Soak
Prodigy construction +1 Soak, -1 difficulty, eliminate DEX penalty.

Edit: Long Arm Fixed

The Armor's fine, but the sword is a Daiklaive by another name. You cannot make those with mortal magic, the physics of the thing means that it would be slower and it would also unbalance the user
Okay is there anything that can be done to remedy that because the size characteristics are based off of Zweihanders? Would making it a splendor help, a higher Prodigy rating or is this just not makeable at this time?

I think the system could bear if it was STR+4 and the -1 to Damage rolls was only for large characters, that is things with at least half their wounds coming from extra size. It would not give you a bonus against Harry who just gets one more wound form being larger than average, but something like a dragon would work.

I quite like it, and have no issues with it. Apologies, I was very busy today and unable to comment.

Would you guys mind terribly if I left this until tomorrow? Between not sleeping well last night, the reason I did not sleep well and this being a pretty complex chapter I think it might be best to handle this in the morning with a clear head.

I have no problem with that, besides, a chapter done when calm and relaxed is better than one done when stressed.
