Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

No need to shame someone beyond the grave for no benefit, whatever their sins.

[X] 'Just' that Kate was a Denarian and she brought the Grace you are after to the Island you are looking for only to be discovered

[X] All of it, they've been with you so far, you trust Father Forthil and Murphy deserves to know if anyone does

Sorry is best for them to know the full story even if it hurts.

[x] All of it, they've been with you so far, you trust Father Forthil and Murphy deserves to know if anyone does

Honestly? These two are adults, they can share some of this burdensome knowledge with Molly

[X] All of it, they've been with you so far, you trust Father Forthil and Murphy deserves to know if anyone does

Bad intelligence kills, plus a cop and a supernatural aware priest have probably heard worst.

Before departing the company of Marry Murphy you ask a question perhaps a bit too suspicious, but you've been caught off guard one too many times. How many members of the Murphy family are currently connected to the unseen world?

'One.'
The answer is like a lonely silver bell and a relief all on its own

This was not the question voted for. The question voted for was:

-[X] Using the current scene, ask the question "how are the members of Murphy family connected to the supernatural?"

How are the members of Murphy family connected to the supernatural?

There is no turning aside from the scene, your Crown, your Exaltation can no more understand why you would not not want to watch this than the burning heart of a sun would understand why mortals shiver in the cold. All you can to is sit there, a cosmic voyeur pinned to the pattern of ages as Kate Murphy tries to seduce her brother with the no doubt helpful counsel of the Fallen Angel Lasciel. It goes farther than you every wanted to see, though not as far as you had come to fear. But then the chain snaps the emerald rolls away. As you... and only you watch the earth beyond the pier first shivers then roils and cracks like living flesh. A root, if roots were stone yet moved like tentacles grabs it and pulls it into the earth.

Is the underlined an error? Or did you intend to use a double negative there?

Wait, so, clarifications:
1) Was Father Murphy Warden of Demonreah (presumably one before Kemmler) or just a warden of the White Council?
2) Was Kate's Fallen partner Lasciel, as in the same Lasciel that resulted in Tiffany?
3) What's with the pendant? This part I don't get. First, what was its function / why was it there in the first place, and second - do I read it right that it held an ember of Green Flame? Wait, was that Total Annihilation in a can? And, if so, do we have anything to use as a focus to find it?

I changed the sentence since supernatural felt a bit weird coming from Molly after the 'magic is natural' conversation she just had

That's an error yeah, will fix.

[X] However much they want to hear. Start with the outline that the sister held a coin as part of a plot that failed, say there are details, but that they are very Denarian messed up details and it's their call to hear them or not.

  1. Molly does not know what a Warden of Demonreach is, all she got was Warden... but that sure looked like the island you were hunting
  2. Yes, same Fallen, no Lash did not know about that, why would she? It would not help her get to Harry
  3. That was the missing Grace of Embername, his Cup... and it was also the focus of a glamor that made Kate not look like herself and maybe inflame some passion so she could seduce her brother .

Okay aside from everything else gotta say ripping a vital spiritual organ from a creature older than current metaphysical reality for...a disguise kit is ridiculously over the top. Like yes it's part of the point but damn, that's. A lot.

Idk it's like seeing someone using the ever beating heart of a flame demon to power their coffee machine

[X] 'Just' that Kate was a Denarian and she brought the Grace you are after to the Island you are looking for only to be discovered
-[X] Write in: A deep sigh "Eternal rest grant unto Them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. May Their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. May the day when I may grasp the Fallen' silver come swiftly and grant upon them a fraction of a fraction of what they have sown amen." You turn to Father Forthil and Murphy. " Kate was a Denarian seduced by the promises of the Fallen, taking advantage of her vulnerability they sacrificed father Murphy and she was the one who took the grace to the Nameless island."

There's no tactical benefit or even really necessary information in telling them the gruesome details of it all. All it does is besmirch the dead, brings up uncomfortable conversations and generally makes this already pretty awkward situation even more so, but man did reading it make me furious I can't imagine what it was like watching it happen. I'm not even Catholic I had to go look up common prayers but Jesus I just wanted to pray for her well-being and hope that God gave her mercy in his judgment and that someday soon these silver Fucks will get what they deserve.

Oh dear. This is most likely a translation error then. The question was "How are the members of Murphy family connected to the supernatural?" as in:

By what various means has the family been connected to the magical side of the world?

and not

The number of the Murphy family currently connected to the magical side of the world is?

at least that is what I got from @Yog's? vote.

[X] However much they want to hear. Start with the outline that the sister held a coin as part of a plot that failed, say there are details, but that they are very Denarian messed up details and it's their call to hear them or not.

When it comes to knowledge for me the necessary parts always come first and then it's up to the consent of the audience what they want to learn after that.

Ah I see, it was me misreading. Fixed

So if I'm getting this right:

Before departing the company of Marry Murphy you ask a question perhaps a bit too suspicious, but you've been caught off guard one too many times. How are the Murphy family are currently connected to the unseen world?

All you get is Murphy's story like a lonely silver bell and a relief all on its own

the only new parts of the story of the Murphy's family's connection to the magical side of the world we could get from that scene was the fact that Murphy is the current chapter of it?

Also underlined are the errors in the order of reading:

How are the Murphy family connected to the unseen world? not How are the Murphy family are currently connected to the unseen world?

own. not own

So if I'm getting this right:

Yep, the only present connection is Murphy herself.

So if we want to ask about the Murphy family's connection to the magical world we have to learn about Karin to have good fuel for the questions?

Or use some aspect of their past connection and ask more specific questions. The Crown cannot just give you every magical things the family has done since they were called 'Murphy' just from being in the room with one of them once so it just gave you their present connection with the magical world, i.e. the one you know Karin has with Harry and Molly herself.

No need to shame someone beyond the grave for no benefit, whatever their sins.

Thing is, he resisted, and his sister cannot be held accountable anyway (and let go of the coin in the end).

So telling the whole truth is not shaming them that much. It is only explaining the truth, nothing more, nothing less.

Denarians don't make their hosts do things, they tempt them into it. He may have resisted, but she quite literally fell into temptation and was persuaded to try to seduce her brother. Even having the desire that could be nurtured to the degree that she could be encouraged to act on it is shameful for her and her family. And the implication is that she had that desire before the Denarians ever got to her:
I remember from my grandfather that they were very close as children, she cried a whole month when he decided to go into the seminary and then took the offer to go to America. She thought she'd never see him again.

Given what she tried later, that's rather suggestive about why he went to seminary and then off to the Americas.
