Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[x] Plan: Molly's Warp storm and Demons
-[X]Molly 60 xp
--[X] Alchemy 5, 22 XP
--[X] Mana Manipulation, 13 XP
--[X] Maggot Mana Plague, 8 XP
--[X] Inner Devils Unchained, 12 XP
--[X] Awareness 2, 5xp
-[X] Lydia - 15 XP
--[X] Purchase Warding of Divine Ancestry (15 XP)
-[X]Tiffany
--[X]Buy first dot of lore of awakening 7 xp
–[X] Second dot of lore of awakening 5 XP.

A bit late but hoping that people remember that two of our opponents have attempted to turn the entire local Universe against us maybe we should also get in on that it's pretty good actually. We already have a bunch of demons with our own energy signature on them and allies that we can specifically give tokens that would allow them to work in warpstorms that we could just say if you are aligned to The Outsiders in this warp storm then you take extra three difficulty on all your dice rolls while this warp storm is up shape Mana allows that kind of phenomenon to happen it'd be pretty good. Alchemy 5 allows us to use and make multi-attack potions that we can give to our allies so they can also do multiple attacks per round.

It's a lot of XP to spending something that won't be very useful right now or possibly in the future.

That's not to say it isn't worth acquiring at some point, but we have better things to focus on right now. Like BMI, which will let us hide our aura, perfectly disguise our appearance, and always have the right clothing for any situation.
It combines very nicely with BMI, since a lot of the risk of the clones is mitigated by enemies not being able to guarantee that a clone isn't murder-blender-super-tank real Molly.

[x] Plan: Trying to buy votes. V2

Ugh. The leading vote has no counter magic in it and nothing to increase Lash's combat ability to better escape Denarians. We shouldn't be dealing with White Council traitors this turn so hopefully people will think to vote for counter magic next turn but I don't see why you'd spec Lash in healing early on when she has Denarians to worry about and goes off on her own to gather faith from mortals.

Does anyone have a solid reliable plan to deal with Nemesis hunting down our clones like we attack his shards?

I imagine the most reliable plan is don't use them in the real world and if you do use them in the real world only in places with dozens of witnesses so anyone he sends immediately ends up on a hot list. And then the Clone bites their tongue off because they know their clone and they know they'll be back.

Don't we already have native Counter Magic? I do not see the reason to get it more. Am I missing something?

That's not true. Lash can boost her physical stats up to 10 via Lore of Flesh at the expense of (total number of dots added - stamina) bashing damage. Lore of Awakenings 3 lets her heal all bashing damage. Unless Lash rolls 10+ successes on the first roll, she should be able to boost her stamina to 10 and then heal herself immediately after. From there, she'll boost her dex and str to 10 too.

And as to counter magic - we have perfect shaping defenses, and native counter magic. We are far from defenseless.

[X] Plan Feeding and Healing v2
-[X] Molly, 41 XP
--[X] Splintered Gale Incarnation, 20 XP
--[X] Alchemy 4, 6 XP
--[X] Inner Devils Unchained, 12 XP
--[X] Awareness 1, 3 XP
-[X] Lydia, 15 XP + 12 XP = 27 XP
--[X] Warding of Divine Ancestry, 15 XP
--[X] Companions of the Hunter, 12 XP
-[X] Tiffany, 15 XP + 7 XP = 22 XP
--[X] Lore of Awakening 3 dots, 22 XP

I don't see why you'd spec Lash in healing early on
Because Harry is nearly dead of aggravated damage that will keep him down at least the whole next story otherwise? We need a way to heal agg in reasonable time, as can be seen by our forced downtime last arc that almost made us too late to stop the gate opening and Harry's current condition.

We damn well will be if you've been following the conversation you'd see that. Witness aren't going to stop anyone this is Dresden files some factions simply do not care. I can think of a number of scenarios where biting your tongue off won't matter like if Nemesis takes over a body and gets an infodump on everything Molly knows bleeding out in such a way takes a minute.

It's luck based not guaranteed as said earlier.

You mean like she did with Molly? What reason do you have to believe that Lash won't knock herself out before being able to heal. A plan that risk knocking yourself out before fighting is a bad plan.

All counter magic is luck based. All possession rules are also luck based. Witnesses matter simply because people have cell phones and can call us not even just our clones just people in general the police get called just the heat immediately Rises to unreasonable levels. Also I still don't agree with that reading of a nemesis can just insinuate itself and read the minds uncontested of people who do not agree to host him. I still say that you would need to lose the entirety of your soul or give access to your mind for that to be a thing. He may be able to make contested roll after contested roll to take information from Molly's mind.

Math? Lash currently has Stamina 3. Even assuming she doesn't upgrade to 5 or more soon, that means that she receives (successes - 3) bashing damage. Lore of Flesh 3 (Manipulate Flesh) rolls Intelligence + Medicine. Lash has 8 dots in those. So, at most, she can receive 5 bashing wounds, likely less. She has 6 health levels, so she shouldn't be knocked out even in the worst case scenario.

Arc 11 Interlude 8: Treaties Old and New
Treaties Old and New

16th of January 2007 A.D.

Father Anthony Forthil was not as a matter of course a hasty man, at least not anymore. One did not come to be where he was now, under the aegis of the Holy Order without a few hasty decisions in one's youth, though fortunately the Lord had been watching for fools that time... those times. Really it was quite surprising he's made it though some of those escapades thinking back. But young or old you did not get to decide what kind of times you lived in, only what you did with the time. He picked up the letter again, it was heavy writing paper, non acidic, the kind of thing one might stow away in the Private Vatican Apostolic Archives and certainly it was the kind of letter that might end up here.

The nature and affinity of the power demonstrated alone would have me stonewall the girl if I did not know she was one of yours, one of His, but there are implications to how Ms Carpenter saw fit to instate the new Marcher Lord of Las Vegas which fall under the incidence of Article XVII of the Adams–Onís Treaty. I am sure your fellows in Spain are more than capable of advising the monarch should that be necessary, but I did not wish for this to come as an unpleasant surprise to the Holy Order, the Holy See or any other part of the Catholic Church involved in the betterment and preservation of men's souls against the forces of perdition. To whit we have encountered a new credible and comprehensive power, a state willing and able to form alliances in the Old World and the New. Included in this letter is all information they have shared about themselves and their war-fighting capabilities under the supreme executive command of Ms Carpenter. How she came to that position I could but speculate, but that power seems wholly unchecked by any other institution.

You will I hope understand Father that I do not concern myself with the spiritual implications, but even just keeping to the temporal we are faced with entirely new challenges in matters of contact, cooperation and artifice. Even considering her willingness to operate under the veil of secrecy the shift in power dynamics is liable to be extreme, particularly given her, understandable, dislike of the Red Court. It is commendable of course that the girl and her companions did not simply vanquish the threat and leave the pieces to fall where they may, but the fact remains that 'basing rights' are a precursor of wide scale deployment and that deployment appears at least for now to be focused in the Western Hemisphere. Mistake us not, we know our duty, to keep the secret as much as the peace, but our oaths are to these United States as yours are to God. The Concert of Nations rather famously failed, I suspect the 'concert of powers' shall follow it soon. One hopes that it shall be a reshuffle that deals a fairer hand and not the whole edifice tumbling down.

For all the letter was couched in diplomatic language it was remarkably blunt, an announcement of intent on the part of the Library of Congress that they would not merely observe the rise of a new power, but seek advantage. In a sense it was unsurprising, if anything about this could be said to be so, it was the nature of all earthly institutions to seek to empower themselves, but the the idea of Margret Amanda Carpenter as a absolute ruler of a state capable of the things of which the rest of the letter spoke of was enough to make him light headed. She had a good heart and a good head on her shoulders, but she was also eighteen. Teenage heads of state and government were not something the Church had had to worry about for many years, but Anthony knew more than enough history to worry.

OOC: IRL the Adams–Onís Treaty was the document by which Spain gave up Florida. In this world there is one more secret Article by which the US and Spain (in particular the Spanish Monarchy) agree to share information regarding wide scale supernatural threats, with a particular eye to the growing influence of the Red Court in Central and south America, then Spanish Colonies and coming up into Texas and Florida. As part of that the Catholic Church, specifically the Holy Order of the Inquisition were designated as go-between.

I remembered that after posting brain fart on my part.

Witnesses do not matter mortals aren't going to able to help if the clone gets jumped by appropriate supernatural muscle. Assume that Nemesis attacks while we are miles away from Chicago or in the NeverNever like when the Skinwalker attacked our friends. Us being notified won't matter at all if we can't drop what we are doing or are too far away for it to matter. Nemesis can simply plan for that like Broken Seerer did.

You've got no real reason to believe Nemesis won't be able to get that information or that the clones wouldn't fail a role and give him an infodump.

Oh? Well nevermind with Lash then at least she's covered by the leading plan. Not the clones though as far as I can tell no one has a solid antiNemesis plan for them.

I would put the text of the letter in italics, or use a different font. It needs something to separate it from Forthill's inner monologue.

I don't even want splintered Gale incarnation and we're both making insinuations based on the information that we know both system and story we don't actually know how nemesis infection works we don't actually know how much information it actually get some any of its hosts we know exactly jack shit for all we know he literally can't take over a host that is unwilling without some kind of overt action to infect them in some kind of crude inverse of his thief of all Lord of nothing affect where he has to publicly steal the thing to be its Lord.
