Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Also in this case Molly's death represents the death of a world.

Does it for sure though?

Our existence made it exists, but are does it have ontological stability or not?

And then, of course, we have the thing with getting our clone charm, that is assurance against death.

By the way, for the argument against it that the clones would be vulnerable to Nemesis:

I want to remark that this isn't really a valid fear, we have several reasons not to believe that.

First, the simple fact that if it was that easy for Nemesis to infect anyone, then we have already lost anyway, as that means it already infected anyone that mattered and that is that.

Second, the clones may not have our charms, but that doesn't mean they are as vulnerable as BronzeTongue fears, we have no reason to let them too long out of sight in places where they will greatly risk infection, so we can check them for infection ourself regularly, and from there, we do have the ability to excorcise Nemesis.

Third, I personally am not sure they count as completely normal humans without protections as far as Nemesis' concerned anyway, the charm is basically a way to make our own soul hierarchy, and that means that I doubt an infection like Nemesis wouldn't ping us rather than them if it tried, as it would be trying to infect a part of us, not an completely independent entity.

"You called it We Come in Peace Under the Aegis of our Leader."

I love this guy already.

I see we are ready, completely and utterly. *Nod with complete confidence*

I think it all comes down to whether the Library here represents only itself or the United States as a whole. Because trade agreements with a nation at this level even now would be somewhat strange. I think it's better to send representatives with a general trading plan later than to discuss it now. In my opinion, trying to introduce yourself as an ally is the most logical thing to do. Of course, there is an angle that Molly herself is a US citizen and technically she even pays taxes. But this is a case where it means almost nothing compared to the literal nation the size of the earth, led by Molly.

Hmm, can we officially replace all US foreign trade import in terms of uranium and other isotopes?

[X] As a willing ally against foes who threaten all, like those who caused the recent incident

Well, this was the course chosen, so we got to commit. Give it everything we've got. Also I really don't think we have anything that we want to trade with America in general and other than entertainment media nothing that we really want from America to begin with.

I am just waiting for someone to declare us a national border between the US and another country and assign us a Customs Enforcement Agent to follow us around.

Legally speaking Border Patrol can search any building within 25 miles of us without a warrant.

I wonder how a trade proposal between the U.S. and the five fold court would look like. It's fairly obvious what the five fold court can provide technology goods and heavy metals, but what does they U.S. have that they want? Especially when you consider throughput limitations.

Do you think that we could buy elder vampire bodies with enriched uranium? Seems like a fair deal to me.

It'd probably have consequences if we died for the court more than merely political. Like I'd assume since we'd be dead it'd change in some way.

legal identities, recognition, earth based resources certain elements likely don't even exist in the five fold courts.

Honestly, the United States can consider the legitimacy of Molly's operations on their basis for a start...And in general, trade can buy us legitimacy and, most importantly, support. But the most important thing is the ability to access material without trying to take it personally out of our world and legal cover in the United States

Perhaps weapons that are legal on Earth and do not violate the masquerade. But the inhabitants of the world can probably do this too

Given they can really only give so much without years of cooperation and the fact everything needs to be wrapped in covert bullshit since not even all of the government really knows what the library does.

Even dp has suggested its possible before.
Maybe rubber? It would likely be plant based materials grown in the light of the sun. But it's hard to find anything valuable enough at the relative low volumes Molly is able to transport.

A few metric tons of rubber doesn't really move the needle for a industrial nation of 5 billion people.

I am so tempted to learn who Von Trier's first conract experience is with.

Software and entertainment seems to be the easiest and most natural trade goods. Immaterial stuff.

Seeds possibly. Education, including magical traditions.

Anyway, I think "An ally against those who threaten Creation" is a good starting point, and it doesn't preclude trade. I don't want to exploit our nation for the benefit of our birth realm, I want both to profit and become better.

A super chemical that is harmless to humans. Tons of those chemical that modern industry is competently dependent on to function properly, people find they have horrible effects on humans, governments restrict the chemical, companies move to the next one on the list repeat.

Everyone considering the trade option please keep in mind the fact that Molly would have to travel in and out of her world to facilitate trade of any kind.

We know that Nemesis can infect someone by just getting an infected's blood on them. As was shown by the roll to try and infect the summer maiden. We also know that Nemesis must have a limit of some kind but that doesn't mean it can't easily take people if need be.
No, this is intentionally a bog standard power point which then leads into some of the more exotic media presentations. The idea is to build on a familiar foundation.
Even during a First Contact scenario you cannot escape death by power point.

Seeds doesn't work. Our world doesn't have a sun so unlike earth where growing crops is just a matter of throwing seeds on the ground and having them grow our world grows food using a more factory set up with the abundance of electricity.

But the big problem is that the immaterial things are stuff we can just take if we don't open relations.

This is true but think about how unsubtle that is. Nemesis relies on stabbings and throwing blood on people when they don't agree to host it. Assuredly from mystical reasons because if it could just poison food or speak to people and infect them the game is up. Now I'm not going to vote for the Clone charm but this idea that Nemesis is just going to attempt to possess them is not really well founded, At least not on the idea that it can just do it.
