Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] She is an Enemy of Creation. Welcome to Big Leagues, Tommy, how would you like to help save the world?
-[X] Empathy or leadership excellency, whichever is more appropriate.
-[X] Stunt: You focus wholly on Tommy, ignoring the opulent surroundings, the sight of Arlene still wreathed in wisps of her goddess' power, and a glowering Harry all but crackling with outrage at Sandra's gross abuse of magic. Who knows what challenges you might face in the coming hours? Instead, you relay the unvarnished truth and the potential impact of existential dread.
-[X] "She is a servant of the Outsiders, beings which exist beyond the boundaries of Creation itself, and they are the enemies of everything, for it is their desire to destroy reality as a know it. There is no taboo they will not violate in their relentless mission. Violation of the minds of mortals is among the least of their machinations. Now she has turned her vile Masters intentions upon your home, upon your people and upon your doorstep. I would ask your assistance in cleansing this rot so that the enemies of creation may walk it no longer."

Though I could be wrong I don't think this is a planning vote. This is a what are we going to tell people that are definitely going to take actions anyway vote. Whether they go It Alone or with us and their allies here it doesn't matter they're definitely going to take action. Even if that's Tommy grabbing off his guys and going to the white Council to get these mental programs off all of his men. Sorry for stealing your stunt goldfish but it's really good. We will have another vote after this dialogue with them because this dialogue is going to decide what the course of action for the people involved is going to be so it's really important.

What do you explain about Sandra to Arlene and Little Tommy?
Something along these lines?

STUNT
[]STUNT: You weigh your words before you speak, Harry a reassuring presence beside you. "In Chicago, she went by the name Sandra Marling, and she's essentially a Lovecraftian cultist." You keep your tone dispassionate, even as you take the pause to retract your shield to choose your next words carefully. "She is an example of why the White Council will lethally sanction mortal magic users who break the Seventh Law." You meet Arlene's eyes, still aglow with the power of her patron, then pause for Little Tommy to put away the empty gun he hadnt realized he was still holding before you continue. "Seven months ago a failed plot of hers caused the Splattercon horror convention Incident in Chicago. As far as we can tell, she's been in Vegas for several months now, and messages to the Dragon have not been answered."

Dresden literally spawned a ghost of himself by having a near-death experience in Grave Peril, no Neverborn needed. In Ghost Story he was literally a disembodied soul that shared all the vulnerabilities of ghosts.
Dresden wasn't a ghost in Ghost Story.

He was a disembodied soul.

Those are very different things in Dresden Files.

A ghost isn't the soul of a dead person, merely a sort of echo.

Basic GHosts are not usually CoDs, at least in the World of Darkness.
Spectres, Nephracks and anything else that is tainted by Oblivion counts though.
*checks*
You're right that most wraiths dont appear to count according to WoD rules
On the other hand, vampires in Golconda dont count either, despite their origins.

Mostly, but not always true.
See Sir Christopher, Mortimer's ancestor
Or Karrin's father. Or her former partner.

I don't know whether parrying a full magazine's worth of point-blank shots is more impressive than taking it on the chin like Molly probably could with her Soak, but I do believe that show of speed is enough to engrave into these guys' minds that we are out of their league.

I imagine any of the more supernaturally-aware and up-to-date factions that have people in Las Vegas are probably pulling them out, or at least telling them to hunker down, given somebody just tried to attack Molly in broad daylight. At this point, with her rep, that's up there with trying to attack Mab.

Uju phrased things more elegantly than I did.

Harry counts as a necromancer as well, because Sue. And we see it works with purely mortal magic.
Necromancy doesnt require Outsider bullshit, and we never see Corpsetaker use Outsider magic in the series.

Harry used regular life magic to reanimate Sue, not whatever distinguishable source of power the black court and necromancers draw on.

Nope.
As far as I can tell, necromancy as portrayed in Dead Beat requires no such thing. Dresden was explicit about Grevane and Cowl, both necromancers, having magic that wasnt particularly different from his. It was how they chose to use it that mattered.
Then he used Spirit magic because the Dark Hollow condenses ectomancy. Then uses necromancy to crush all of the life out of all of those Echoes of living beings and turn it into power.
No he didnt. He used necromancy. Explicitly. Captain-Commander Luccio called it necromancy.
He got off on the technicality that the Law is aimed at preventing the manipulation of human ghosts, while he called up the ghost of an ancient animal.

And the Darkhallow does no such thing.
Ectomancy, by definition, cant be used in a necromantic ritual.

I'm talking about this Quest that's why I said Spirit Magic like the sphere from mage. Because in exalted necromancy is the direct child of Oblivion there is no getting around that if you are a necromancer you have contacted and used the dark Death essence of Oblivion. Though I did not know that about the Darkhallow I thought the Darkhallow was more like a drain that just pulled all ghosts in an area into it and then the person using the Dark Hollow you know used necromancy to crush everything in it to death and drink their marrow.

The vote counter is having problems again. It seems bolding something makes it count as a differ vote.

In any case I'll vote for literally anything that doesn't have us spend more essence as if being low isn't an concern right now. Social combat isn't always needed this guy is a COD too so we already get a bonus and Arlene is right there to smooth anything over, we do not need an excellency.

Spirit and Life are apparently the Spheres most useful for Mage-style necromancy.
But the greatest necromancer in Mage the Ascension was Voormas, and he was an Euthanatos archmage.
His highest Sphere was Entropy.

Though I did not know that about the Darkhallow I thought the Darkhallow was more like a drain that just pulled all ghosts in an area into it and then the person using the Dark Hollow you know used necromancy to crush everything in it to death and drink their marrow.
That IS what the Darkhallow does.
IIRC, it does that to all life in the area of effect, not just the ghosts.
Hence mortals in the area of effect die as well.
