Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Yeah, though the best part about that is the (currently) 2.73 km diameter AoE we get to shape into the kingdom to invoke that through.

Mechanically it's among the best reasonable signatures, but that bit is what makes it the most fun.

We'd basically get to be our own little eye of terror. :V
What is the effect of chosing it as a signature Charm?

What is the effect of chosing it as a signature Charm?
Here:
Signature Effect: When the Infernal dons her
Shintai form, and while that form persists, the world
around her within (Essence x 500) yards warps and
twists, gaining many of the features of her Kingdom.
Any time the Infernal uses a stunt incorporating the
features of her Kingdom, she reduces the difficulty of
that action by one.

[X] Yes: Spend -20 XP Take The King and the Kingdom: The Thousand and First Hell (•••••)

Both thematically appropriate and mechanically exciting!

We can make the place amazing without heavenly, it's just environmental.

As to the other bit, the torment is whatever we like it to be and the end is where we make it.

Every serious hell proposal has cheated endless torment into free immortality with an escape clause that lets people bounce for something else when they want to. We wouldn't really be stopping anyone from "moving on".
That not how it works and you know it, you cannot take endless suffering and include an escape clause that goes against the point. And again fundamentally goes against the character of Molly. Double so since it a charm, charms are expression of the soul personality, once you take a charms that states an opinion, Molly cannot ever change her mind. It becomes a permanent part of her personality that nothing can change.

It's in the rules that you can:
Endless Suffering (Cost: 1 point): Those who
meet their ends according to certain criteria (such as
being devoured by the Realm's native devils, or being
melted in its acid seas, or even perishing for any reason
at all – very simple and very complicated rules are both

possible) are eventually reconstituted by the Realm
that they might be tormented to destruction again.
Being able to set up rules for when Endless Suffering triggers is the core of this feature. This also means, by definition, that we can set the activation to be "any cause but X".

That's exactly how it works. Everything about being an infernal is about subverting what rules do exist to your advantage. Beyond that, as @Yog demonstrated, we can actually do whatever we like for this particular rule anyway.

As to the charm bit - subverting these rules is part of how we shape infernal charms into Molly flavored ones. Taking the hellish power and making it something else is kind of how we have to work.

We need to be very careful about how we treat Harry if we bring him into our Hell. If Molly makes eyes at him or appears to be trying too hard to get his attention, we might come back a few months later and find statues of him depicted as the Queen's Consort, or perhaps even her concubine.

Huh, on second thought, this sounds hilarious and we should do it just to troll Harry.
Deepfake adult movies. Possibly full immersion VRs. Advanced civilization, remember?
There is a line between trolling and harassment and considering Harry's explicit lack of interest in pursuing a relationship with Molly (which I am getting tired of repeating) and what you guys are mentioning, I have to say that this is firmly in harassment territory and we should crush if it happened, not be amused.

Nobody cares about his opinion because he's a man? If this were a woman in these situations mentioned, it would instantly be seen as harassment.

Yes when in Shanti form we no longer have to worry about if it's raining or not because we can just import rain out of our kingdom. It doesn't even have to be water.

Mind the environmental impact of raining liquid oxygen a city scape though. :V

Though I guess it's mostly supposed to be temporary, so hopefully damage like that only sticks around if we want it to.

The humor for me is that it's unintentional on Molly's part. Here we have this powerful Exalt, who faces down monsters straight out of nightmares or from beyond the bounds of reality without even blinking, and yet her hormones still lead her to sometimes being helplessly awkward around Harry, the subject of her long-standing schoolgirl crush.

Normally it's the male teenage protagonist who can't help but make a fool of himself around a beautiful older woman, so the subversion of the genre is amusing, IMO.

I salute you! Your portrayal of Broken Seeker is incredible.

He is at once both an eldritch horror beyond true human comprehension. A beast that lurks in the dark and has done so through ages. A dark legend and a creature of such might that true defeat of it has never been possible before. Yet also have you managed to show his motives, given him personality that fits the thing he is and all that without taking away from his aspect of a demonic legend.

Just before Molly thought about it I thought that the whole talk almost sounded Seeker was enjoying the banter just a bit too much....and then Mollys notices he is flirting with her!!

You almost managed to make him an, if not likable, at least relatable Person! And then the moment when he delivers Izzy and Alec and the description of what he looks/smells like hammers home that this THING is.....beyond mortal.

Thank you for taking the time to write and share this quest with us. It is a tremendous pleasure to read and partake!

Our thematics depend on the hell. Not to jinx it, but Yog's is the clear front runner right now and the Fivefold Courts don't seem to do kind weather most of the time.
When I say ice cold I mean if the rain wasn't salty it would be hail. That is totally deadly in how fast is can wash away your heat.

It's going to be close, but I think our Hell will pull through by the skin of its teeth.

I was just reading about the Columbian exchange which made me wonder what sort of cool croups our hell has, but also interested in if importing a bunch of earth croups into our hell will suddenly lead to a jump in quality of life. Mostly want to do that so the people of our hell can have some clear indicators about how things are so much better in the new age which doesn't require much work on our end.

Our hell starts with no coco beans, vanilla, corn, potatoes, garlic, onion or coffee beans. Once we import them to be grown the quality of life jumps right up.

Which also allows for us to bring back bunches of amazing foods never seen on earth.

Well, since we are on the subject of Worlds, I had built one of my one a while back.

Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files) Crossover - Fantasy

Hi @DragonParadox I have finished fluffing up the world of Mu. Can you please change the threadmark to this post? Ok, So I have taken inspiration from a LOT of places, both real life and fictional. I am crediting 40k, Exalted and real life religions for parts and...

The World of Mu. This is, in all honestly, very similar to Yog's build in terms of points but differs in fluff. This World is a Continuation of how Molly's Shintai is built, in that it makes references to the first and second age. It also implies that a fragment of Creation survived and has now come out of the Wyld.

I meant it more as in 'can she perceive it'. Strange and very very old metaphysical interactions are in play there.
I don't think the Archive would pick up anything from there unless humans wrote it down. She's supposed to be an archive of human knowledge. It's only humans that act as anchors for the things she is trying to render forgotten.

But I don't think you're going to have takers in that until after the hell. It's in many ways even more major to Molly as a character and infernal than the crafting charm, and it's something we've all been planning towards for the whole quest.

We even specifically banked exp explicitly to buy it as soon as possible.
Yeah, doesn't look like the vote will go that way. I know that I'm personally much more interested in the crafting charm, and would happily make the hell wait. Most everyone else seems to feel differently though.

Personally I really dislike the kingdom, it either a big nothing. Or it such a jump in power that Chicago will soon be the Chicago hole as everybody with a brain will just nuke the place.

That's incredibly reductive. People aren't going to just break out nukes or equivalent immediately over most anything, and there's plenty of space between being useless and being a story crushing monstrosity.

The system text not having a well defined set of dice changes in it doesn't make it a bad charm. Ultimately this sort of game relies on the players and QM being able to work out the exact handling of vaguely defined details anyway, so a little more trust isn't a lot to ask.

To each their own.

I'll agree the crafting charm is neat, but to my eye it isn't nearly as core as the hell is.

The hell saves us having to do a lot of crafting ourselves. We should be able to get a whole brigade of armed vehicles out of our hell as well as make sure any Jade Dogs who want to fight are better armed then any U.S. infantry trooper.

Thank you, I had to polish his portrayal quite a lot, I'm glad to see that paid off.
