Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Are you sure? I thought she was about Molly's age?
Actually, @DragonParadox maybe you can add her to our minions?
And also add a RIP to Adam.
WoG was that she was 17-19 when we first met her.
A recheck has the QM deciding that she's 17, or at least gives her age to Molly as 17, when she enrolled in Molly's HS as a junior who was not yet 16

Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files) Crossover - Fantasy

She actually is 17 and should be a senior if her home schooling was up to the standard, it is not. Despair vampires are not really focused on academic excellency at the best of times and when you add a mentor in the odd and esoteric taking up the time that might have been going to academic...

Serendipitous Schooling
COMMENTARY
-Going to note that Molly pulled this off as a six foot, Strength 4 woman who looks and shares the same features as her mother, who is a blacksmith with the build to wield a warhammer.
She stands out.

-Besides her occasional, sometimes extended absences from school, Molly's been a mostly normal, if underperforming high school student. Now in the last four months, she has
1)Caught a guy falling off out of a window
2)Started driving a murdered-out W219 Mercedes CLS, presumably the AMG 63 version, to school. Almost certainly the most expensive car in the HS parking lot.
3)Broke a guy socially with a retort in the school corridor
4)And now pulled off a fairly remarkable piece of social engineering for a high schooler

Our girl's going to get noticed.

-Harry will suggest Mac's place as a Neutral Meeting Place for high level meetings; its one he has used before without incident for meeting Warden strike teams, Dukes of the Red Court, and both the Summer and Winter Lady, and one he would use in the future for meeting Donar Vadderung.

Molly will look at the legal obligations and mundane cost of hosting a meeting with the Queen of Air and Darkness, and also pick Mac's place. That way if anyone starts shit, they are obliging Winter and Accord signatories to deal with them

[X] Restoring the Last Station: Restoration efforts have been going well and according to Adam some more of the people down in the tunnels have shown interest in their newfound wealth and comfort (3/8)

The date is 8 October.
I think this makes more logical sense right now, what with Adam's death and the rapid approach of winter weather.
Prepwork for Mab should be closer to the end of the month.

If nothing else, Crown questions if any should be close to when we meet, to avoid her changing her mind in the interim.
Not that I can think of any Crown questions worth burning a Mab focus over.

Also, because people were talking about asking what Mab knows... Lash implied that her progenitor knows "exactly what we are," Uriel knew what we are, the Denarians have an enemy rating for us just because they know what we are, it seems like the sort of thing they would know about in general both from being among the oldest things in the setting and being connected to specifically hell and so connected to Infernal Exaltations specifically... and we know exactly where Lasciel's coin is being kept, which is a ridiculously strong Crown focus for pumping any information we want out of her, including whatever she knows about our power. And Lasciel probably knows more about what we are than Mab does. How about we spend 5 minutes at Harry's completely reversing the information disparity between us and Mab so that she no longer potentially knows more about our power than we do?
That goes against our agreement with Uriel. Fallen are still angels.

Mab is mystically strong enough to spam crown foci by her mere passage - a cat that saw her for a couple of minutes was enough to look into her carefully held plans. Books about her, any artefacts of hers (like Unseeliee accords), probably her servants (i.e. most winter fae) are valid foci. This is the paradox our crown presents - the stronger you are, magically, the more vulnerable you are to the gaze of the heir of Yozi.

Would it be worth it to invoke actual hospitality rules so that she is officially our guest during the negotiations? That should limit the shenanigans she can pull to some extent, force the negotiations to a less hostile base state, and allow for some measure of at least perceived power on our side of the table if we're hosting the negotiations.

Mab is not going to fuck up a diplomatic meeting.
Some others might. Mab wont. She's a woman of her word, for good and ill.

We'll be meeting her at Mac's because we know OOC, and will know IC, that Winter and Summer royalty have no objections to meeting there, and that Mac is up for it. Also that its security is guaranteed by custom and the Accords as a neutral venue, so we arent on the hook if some asshole attempts an attack on Mab or us.

If we take her somewhere else, we're on the hook for the security and any breaches.
Literally the only other place that has that sort of coverage is the Carpenter homestead, and I dont think its wise to put Mab and Charity under the same roof.

I dont want to fuck with Denarian coins without a lot more knowledge.
Especially not one that has a shadow in a key ally's head.

Has that been explicitly stated by the QM?
Because I dont recall.

Actually, pretty sure the Fallen don't count, as long as we don't do anything like looking at them and using them as a focus to ask questions about angels still in good standing. Let me dig up the quote from when this first came up:
They are not angels, they are not of Heaven anymore and they are not part of the mind of God. Molly thinks not and she has not gotten any signs to the contrary though they are probably one of those subjects you should be careful about to the best of your abilities.
Asking what the Fallen know about us and our power should be nowhere near the line and totally fair game.

We always could go to Harry's to consult with Bob for stuff to help the meeting with Mab, and then look at the little circle in his laboratory floor and trigger the Crown on it to ask our question when he's not looking. It's implied that the Crown is subtle enough that you're likely to miss it unless you're specifically paying attention. And Lash can't know about what we do if Harry doesn't.

Has that been explicitly stated by the QM?
Because I dont recall.
Not explicitly for Mab, but we know the following:
1) The more magical you are, the more foci you generate. The Dead detective was mundane, and only his whole body was a focus. Olivia is a talent, and her hair and jewelry are separate foci. Mab is much more magical.
2) We know that Mister the cat was a valid focus to look into Mab's plans. This establishes a threshold at "a mundane animal that saw Mab and might have been touched / petted by Mab in the past".
3) We know that books about the subject are valid foci for the subject (see Darwin's "on the origins of the species" and the question about human evolution).
4) We know that photos of an object are valid foci for the object. It's reasonable to think that a portrait would also be valid.
5) We know that things made, owned or used by someone are valid foci, from the ammo the Redcap assassin used.

Based on these known facts, it's safe to say that books about Mab, portraits of Mab, Unseelie Accords should all be valid foci.

The counter-argument is the example of Big Book of Yomi Wan. But that involved a roll, and we should obviously make it a policy to preload axcellencies before asking questions.

Im reasonably sure that if we have to worry about Mab potentially noticing the Crown if we use it in front of her?
Lasciel is unlikely to have trouble picking up on it.

And we know fuckall about any relationships or connections with her shadow, or whether they get a free action when poked that way by Powers of our tier.
I dont think its worth it.

So not explicit.

Given that free will/volition is very much a thing, and that the Crown does not look into the future because of them, it will only tell us what Mab knows as of the time the question is asked.
Im inclined to keep that ace up my sleeve. Im curious, but not that curious. Especially not with Mab.

Just ask Lydia for access to her father's library and update on Sidhe custom and the like for meetings.

Talk to y'all later.

Oh right, vote.

When it comes to the Crown and how many questions it can ask around any one thing:

It is not so much the more magical you are the more questions you get, but the more important you are. The Crown of Eyes is a crown, it is an instrument of divine sight bequeathed upon demonic god-kings of yore by the cruel and uncaring architects of Creation, the fate of one mortal man of no great note is beneath notice unless you strain, so one question, the fate of a important religious leader, the founder of a social movement, a world-changing political leader all those allow for more questions

I'll switch to restoring last Station, because on further thought, this naturally follows from the attack of Wan kuei on the Station.

[X] Get ready for your meeting with Queen of Winter Fae: prepare a suitable meeting place, and preemptively gather intel with your crown. Lydia's library and treasury probably have something that can be used as a focus; Harry might be able to suggest something too

The speech Molly gave sparked an idea. We can't really afford to train a lot of people, and our training charm has a very serious downside and isn't very scalable. It isn't applicable for larger populations. Publishing books is possible - Ebenezar certainly did. Yet, for young and especially minor talents, the book coverage is probably non-existent.

It's currently 2006. Youtube already exists, even if in its infant stage (it's barely a year old).
@DragonParadox what would we be rolling if we were preparing and recording educational videos? I am interested in occult subjects (Molly's introductory course to magical world) and melee lessons.

Charisma (You are explaining) +Occult (The skill you are teaching)

We want to equip and train our followers and allies before we spend AP on trying to become a YouTube star.

it is training our (future) followers. Specifically, if we were doing this, we'd be reaching towards young minor talents only discovering their magic and still capable of using computers. Ideally we'd visit google and spread cyberdevils through their data centers, so when someone searches for magic, they are redirected to our videos (we get top outputs in search queries). Essentially, this would be recruiting for Paranet-equivalent.

EDIT: Essentially, training people in person and individually should be reserved to the most elite companions. Everyone else, it's better to use recorded videos.

I can get behind a whole series of online Minion Orientation & Training courses.

Whether or not its wise, and I do question the wisdom of doing any such thing on electronic media?
The infrastructure does not (currently)exist.

Its 2006, not 2016. Google just bought Youtube in October. The Iphone and iOS only comes out in 2007, Android in 2008.
2G/GSM still has most of the mobile marketshare in the US, and 3G is still being introduced.
Broadband connectivity is much better than the 1990s, but vastly short of where it could be.

I will also point out that the printing press has existed for centuries, and yet printed text has failed to supplant personal tutoring as the main way to learn about these things.
Presumably, there's a reason for that.

Putting lore on the internet will still reach quite a few people.
I know it can't replace direct tutoring, but just brining people up to the basics and telling them how to find potential teachers for more is an important step.

Putting up important lore for those already deep in the know would be another interesting option, but not one we have to take right away.

As for the mobiles, I'm not sure why that is relevant. Few people have smartphones, but many have some kind of PC by now and media like Youtube are not really dependant on any specific device.

The easiest way to scale is just get the training charms, train up people, and then have them train more people. People with exceptional talent can get training from Molly.
