Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Okay, so our options are either a ritual that will certainly work, but also kill or hurt the human in the process, or a total unknown.

The christian exorcism will propably depend on rolls from father Forthill, rather than be absolute like our version. And it might also damage the host, or not.

Given how difficult it is to get people to even include it in a complete plan, better to take it now independently and be done with it, let's have the perk we chose at the beginning serve for once, instead of slumbering, let's show the world we have the base code of the universe at our fingertips.

Is it worth it right now? At some point we'll probably pick this given it's anti-denarian abilities and what with Michael being Molly's dad, but is right now the best timing or do we have any other things we wanna buy with XP for next arc?

We are going to get lots of XP after all we did there, and we have wanted this particular Sorcery since the beginning but always let it drop due to various reasons, really would help to finally get at least one justification for the heir of Brigid we took right at the beginning with the intent to use it, yet let lie one the road very time.

We also know for a fact we can heal our version and make it painful but ultimately survivable, we have no idea about the normal excorcism.

So CCC didn't do anything? Cause with it this should be difficulty 4 right?

Here:
Also on the matter of CCC, I've said this before, but you cannot use Michael for it since he is not ruthless enough to actually imprison you.

Lethal damage is lethal damage, and we didn't prepare any healing potions for this situation. This isn't like with IDU where we can spend essence to limit the damage while performing the ritual.

She can't soak it, so it's possible that she dies if the dice don't go her way and even in the case where she survives she's going to be stuck beaten nearly to death until we can make her enough potions to recover.

That's a huge amount of XP to spend before we even know how the arc is going to conclude or how much we'll have in total. Also, I'm not terribly interested in this particular ability.

[X] No, trust that the exorcism will work

We have other things I'd rather spend that 10 xp on in the immediate future. I'd be willing to buy it at a later time however.

You know, this is these kinds or reactions that makes me wonder if this:
Brigid's Heir
Sometimes in dreams touched by fire green and gold Molly bears witness to an age unspeakably ancient. Once per story, she may buy an ancient sorcery spell without needing a mentor, grimoire, or other reference.

Is ever gonna see use, seriously, the voters took that and occult 5 because they wanted to be a sorcerer, and every time any spell is proposed, suddenly *We can take it later* *It is a lot of XP* or other things like that, except we are now later and not taking it still, and we used more on some of our charms without complaints, this is becoming ridiculous at this point.

Read holden's quote on Sorcery. It is simply not practical.

I expect for us to deal with possessions pretty regularly, so having a possibility to do it seems like a good idea.

Thing is, it's far too late to say that, the trait is there, and the ones that chose it thought it was worth it, so may as well get at least the one spell everyone always says they want yet constantly balk when it is in a plan.
Most of the people who voted for that are not around and really did not know the mechanics at that time,

Eitherway, if it had been "Bronze skin" or another spell, I would have voted for it. Exorcism, which while very useful, is competing with a lot of other charms that we desperately need.

I think this particular spell will be very useful against Denarians or Nemesis, but people have repeatedly rejected it earlier, so it's high time now.

Thing is, every time a spell is talked about, this one is going to be proposed, at this point, bite the goddamn bullet, get the spell in the arc where we definitely are going to get more than enough XP to not even resent it anyway, and make the ones who wants to help against Nemesis and the Denarians have their main tool to actually change the setting.

I wouldn't frankly take this in a normal plan. But the thing is we intimidated a demon and it called our bluff, if we can't back it up now then we are a laughing stock. So we have to commit.

Not convincing.

But this is.

Good to get this, thanks to this the Knight's go from a vastly uncertain chance aginst Denarians, to having a sure way to deal with Denarians.

Do we instantly banish the thing back to Kakuri, or can we make our threats true and permakill it as soon as it is out of the body?
