[X] Lineup: T1 Gnolls : Carnivorous : Gain regains 25% of damage inflicted to living creatures as health
T2 Lizardmen : Ranged. 15% Chances to inflict poison to an enemy.
T3 Serpent fly : Flying. Dispels all beneficial effects from target.
T4 Amazonian bull: Gains special ability upon upgrade.
T5 Wyvern: Flying. Inflicts poison to target.
T6 Hydra : No retaliation. Attacks all adjacent hexes.
T7 : Basilisk : Killing gaze, magic dampener.
...And now we have a 4-way tie in the lineups.

Right, while Treants' ability to root opponents works fairly well for my(admittedly ranged-heavy) build, it would seem that the only way to have the Amazonian bull be the tiebreaker would be to at least accept the Hydra and/or Basilisk(and while I went Phoenix>Basilisk mainly for PR, the Basilisk would admittedly be a better support for our T1/T2/T3 than the Phoenix).
...I'll flip to Basilisk. Who cares what OP self-insert heroines think.

@Nordlending would you mind a compromise where I flip to Hydra and you flip to Lizardmen to prevent a scrambled mess of ties? Because Wolves aren't suited to the Swamp terrain of our capital anyway and we should be able to get a Grasslands/Plains/Mountains biome settlement to get the non-summon Doggo production up running again if we put our mind to it. Preferably one a bit further North/inland so we get more snow.

We latterly just upgraded our wolves to direwolves and now you want to get rid of them for lizerdmen?
That's an entire turn waisted.
And that's a sunk cost fallacy. To use an extreme example, it's akin to saying we shouldn't ever get guns because we just perfected fighting with sharpened sticks.

Also, let us not over-exaggerate. We spent a martial action and had it boosted with one of Dace's Intrigue interrupts because said Intrigue interrupt involved asking our expert about magical creatures. Though our advisers are doing a fair bit of research on their own time.

Aside from that? Changing the terrain type might've altered the growth bonuses. Especially since we've been told the Wolves did not like the swampland.

Yes. I am willing to give up a lot for Hydras.

Then again. My votes changes with my every whim.

Right, flipped to Hydra. Though I can't help but notice that you swapped out the Swamp Bull for the Tiger again.

Swamp Bull and Hydra compliment each other fairly well, as while the Hydra is good against multiple targets, the Swamp Bull's upgrade in HoMM3 had an ability that killed the units it attacked based on how much Swamp bulls were in the stack, which made it amazing at killing high health T6 and T7 units(where the Hydra underperforms compared to other T7 units).

I'm pushing the end of votes for tomorrow, same hour. Don't forget to vote for the interlude you guys want.

Its best to save something cuddly for when we need. We never know when someone has an emotional breakdown. We are also expecting kids. We need something to make those things smile after talking to Dace and his horrible empathy skill.

Omake - Professor Lily (noncanon) + 11
Omake - Professor Lily

It was only a day after she had awoken. She called to Gwallawg's office, and as she entered she saw him and Professor Slughorn looking sternly at her. She felt like a child called to the teacher office, like when she was young and had given Alfie big green warts during an experiment in class. There was a silence in the air as she took up her notepad to write down something to say, but

"My dear, that won't be necessary. We want to know how much of your potionering knowledge remains"
"I have gathered some candidates for you to teach. Show them what we have taught you. "
"There are far to few masters left of our craft. I am sure you won't disappoint. "

They didn't look stern nor worried, but she could feel their gaze weighed her down.

***

The candidates in front of her where not who she had expected. She had expected some greenhorns or mediocre students from Mr. Gwallawg's university. Not these people. Mr Gwallawg's granddaughter, she was adorable, but she didn't feel confident teacher her. Martha, not really sure what she needed to be taught. Urie, someone who had earned the Order of Merlin, First class, they didn't give those out to just anyone, and Oliver. Okay, Oliver had just given her a glass of water, laughed and walked away waving his cute butt. She thought he might have tried to cheer her up, but jokes had never been her strongest side.

She started to write on the blackboard to explain how to create a potion to breath underwater. Its not the easiest potion to make in the first place, but not being able to speak made things a lot more difficult. This was why she had selected this potion to teach.

***

After trying her hardest to beat the receipt into their thick skulls it was time to show her pupils potion to her teachers. She had succeeded, or not. The heiress potion looked like colorful mud. Martha's looked perfect, which annoyed her somehow, and Uries potion oozed purple and gave her the faint image of death, which really shouldn't be possible with the ingredients she had given them.

She watched, stomach swirling as her teacher investigated her pupils potion.

"Well done my dear, Well done"

"eh"

"I am impressed miss Evans, I didn't really expect you to perform this well" Mr. Gwallawg said as he pointed to his granddaughters potion. "A potion that will make it easier to sense an animals emotions, not the most advanced of course, but teaching a child this is impressive.

"And look a this. The devil's tail, drink this and it would kill you even if where a giant, might be useful later. I will pocket this." She must have imagined it because Urie looked disappointing by not being allowed to keep it. "

"And for last we have my wifes potion "Underwater Lungs ", perfect for investigating huge bodies of water as they make it possible to breath under water. "
"Perfect too, Miss Gwallawg's potion skill was never the best, so seeing her create it perfectly brings tears to my eyes. I can't wait to see what you will show during your next test "

Another test...

She needed to study harder, if they where going to continue with tests like these.

Phoenixes have 2 forms : the golden turkey the size of a swan, and the solid fire murder machine that's the size of a house.

Dear Diary (noncanon) +8
Winter 1986

Dear Diary,

I'd always wanted to go on adventures, but after today, maybe it's ok if I wait a few years. I need to get bigger and stronger before I try to be a hero like Urie.

See, it all started during the winter holidays. Mum took me out shopping, supposedly to replenish my brothers' school supplies, but I knew better. Coincidentally, there was a sale at Flourish & Blot and the Gilderoy Lockhart bloke had just published another one of his books. I knew how to put 2 and 2 together even if I am still a kid. So when we made our last stop at Flourish & Blot, I slipped away. Mum was going to be talking to the saleswitch for hours about the latest book so my absence wouldn't be noticed, I hoped.

I'd barely been gone for a few minutes when everything went wrong. These weird creatures started attacking people and I ran into one of the shops to try and hide. It didn't work out very well, since as soon as I ran through the door, the entire shop exploded. I fell over and then half the door fell on me. There were flames and smoke and I was trapped in this burning building. Adventures are clearly not very fun. My eyes were welling up with tears from the pain and the smoke and I was sobbing, desperately hoping mum or anyone would save me.

And then He came. A wizard walked down the street, completely ignoring all monsters attacking. He must have been supremely confident in the abilities of his companions to protect him. Every time one of the monsters tried to attack him, he just ignored them and let the wolves or his companions kill them without even lifting a finger. When he got to where I was, he just looked at me with disappointment. I'm sure he would never let himself be trapped in a burning building like I did.

I need to be stronger like Urie so I can help Mum keep Ron and Ginny safe like Bill and Charlie do.

HEY PERC WHT ABOOT YOUR BELOVD BROTERS FRED AND GEORGE!

I'm not going to help people that sneak into my room and read things They. Are. Not. Supposed. Too. Especially if they can't even spell my name properly!

Hm. I think now would be a good time for salt stripmining, therefore....

Tier 1 : ?
Tier 2 : The Dwarves.
Tier 3 : ?
Tier 4 : ?
Tier 5 : Unicorns
Tier 6 : Moon does.
Tier 7 : Dragons.

Edit: Tier 1 is also taken, but they're holding out for specific Tier 3 and TIer 4 creatures.

Tier 2 : The Dwarves.
Salt. Auxiliary building that gives 10% weekly interest on all current gold would've been broken given the time frame.
Salt. These are an excellent support unit.

Strange they're T5 though.
Don't care
Salt. Dragon T7 best T7.
Edit: Tier 1 is also taken, but they're holding out for specific Tier 3 and TIer 4 creatures.
Given all the Magic Resistance, I'd guess Imps, Wraiths and Pegasus Riders to further shut down enemy magic.

Ah, mundos. So under appreciated. You'll be dearly missed.

Time for some more Beta advice.

Okay, so as you've just seen in the last few updates, you suck at straight combat*. Martha is not the end all be all of problem solving. She's a powerful champion, but her biggest shtick is smashing undead heroes (and other powerful undead). Unfortunately for you, Riddle had a true Hero-Killer for a long while and as such has a hard counter to Martha.

Dace is all about intrigue as seen with how he dealt with the Death Eaters. Use that constantly. He's an intrigue character, not a martial one.

Lucius is all about getting you more money. Raise that SL if you want more money. (hint, you want more money). Be warned that raising SL's is difficult for Dace to do the normal way, so you might need to think about option synergy and what can get him RP with a character.

*at least right now, but the others will get better too

Bodyguard Crush Maid Service (semi canon) +5
Since the squirrel mafia spying on Dace is now canon and Martha has 2 SL bonuses hampering spying...

Bodyguard Crush Maid Service

Chip got called into the elders' nest. The old one spoke in his quavering voice, "We have agreed to obtain intelligence on the interior of the humans' building in exchange for suitable compensation. Chip, your mission is to slip inside the building and discover the location of their treasury and the personal rooms of all the important staff members. The details are inscribed on this nut. Your brother Dale will provide the distraction needed to sneak past the wolf patrols."
Ugh, here comes a squirrel to extort me again.
At first, the mission went superbly. Dale taunted the giant wolf and his puppies and led them on a merry chase. Using the distraction Chip sneaked past the depressing druid and entered the building through an open window.
Why did it just ignore me and go into the fort?
The door was slightly ajar, so Chip was able get into the hallway. But after that everything went utterly wrong. A different door opened, and a female human walked out. In fact, she was one of the people he was supposed to spy on, the scary gauntlet lady. For one pregnant pause the two stared at each other. And then she swelled up in rage, "A SQUIRREL! IN MY HOME?! I! THINK! NOT!"

She advanced on Chip with broomstick and Chip beat a hasty retreat into the room with an open window, out the window, and into the woods. Thank Themis she was slower than usual, or he might have not escaped with his life.

To be fair, squirrel mafia spies on everyone with the amount of resources the Overlord's throwing their way.

Tally machine says Orderquest and Lifequest are tied. So either we get a tiebreaker, or I flip a coin tomorrow.
