I wonder if we can use his stupidity against him somehow. Engaging with Aurelius and leading him into the middle of his troops? Are there corridors or buildings around? Getting into a stand up fight against this guy feels like a bad idea.

My main thought is that we need to avoid fighting him in a confined space
The problem is ganging up on him doesn't really work, because he can hit two people with no problem. I think most of our ranged weapons would be hard pressed to damage him (but correct me if I'm wrong). The best idea I can see is one guy keeping him occupied, and Damien doing the whole move-in, hit, move-out thing.

Actually, Aurelius baiting him, while Damien sets up something (collapse a building on him, set up an enemy weapon to blow, etc.) could work. On the other hand writing in something sufficiently powerful for the mooks is dangerous.

Trying to bait him into beating up his own mooks runs into the problem that we'll be fighting Karog and a horde of mooks.

Nevermind that this relies on the unproven assumption that we can trick him into killing his own side.

Death from Above neckstab with Glaive Encarmine? Damien starts on the mooks with the Flamer, Aurelius kites Karog into a sufficient place, and then bam, quantum Sanguinary Guard neckstab. On the other hand I suck at Space Marine planning, so this could very well kill everyone involved. Except for Karog :).

Right, I'm extending the voting deadline by another day, because I can't actually update without more votes. The sooner we finish this event, the sooner we can get to the Black Templar interlude I have in mind.

- Aurelius dodge tanks, Cyberion harries and then we smash Karog against an Anvil made from the Quantum Sanguinary Guards smashing through the walls

For some reason this situation made me do a write-in after a really long while... Hopefully it will give some bonuses to the fight.

"Karog Kinslayer. You damned fool."

Damien Cybereon hears the words from his Chapter Master and wills his eyes to focus again. The shock from seeing Karog having stopped his conscious mind for a moment. Whatever hellish power or Chaos trickery was behind this it didn't change a thing. He and Aurelius Asterion had to vanquish this foe and do it quickly for every second without vox relay was a second where his company was without leadership.

"Any second now Damien…" Damien heard Aurelius say to their shared vox-link.

What did the Chapter Master mean with… and then Damien understood. Aurelius trusted Damien to lead them through this fight. The Chapter Master had given this operation to the 3rd Captain and he wasn't going to take reigns away from Damien even now. The trust shown to him stopped Damien's hearts for a beat… then he rose to stand on the rock of his Chapter Master's trust.

"Hammer and Anvil. Aurelian Pattern," Damien Cybereon commands with firm voice full of conviction.

The only answer he hears from Aurelius is a short chuckle, "Oh, the arrogance."

Then the ground shakes as Karog Kinslayer, the Sorrow of Seraphim's charges towards the duo of crimson clad astartes. "Blood for the Blood God!" The Chaos Champion's shout reverberates across the corridor and is met with the silent surety of Emperor's own space marines.

Damien marshals to meet the charge with his storm shield, the Soul of Fire raised to challenge daemon-wrought blade. Eternal shall the Soul of the Angel, Sanguinius' Legacy, burn against the forces of Chaos and as its incarnation will Damien's shield hold Karog blade at bay. The force of an angry god strikes the Soul of Fire, but as Sanguinius dueled Ka'Bandha and triumphed his foe's skill, so Damien deflects the brunt of the attack away. One doesn't have to be the strongest, if one is the wisest… as one young astartes was taught ages ago.

Aurelius Asterion, the Sword-Saint flanks the dueling pair with lightning like speed. He raises his arm and fires a burst of bolts to the heretics following Karog. The intersection of corridors becomes awash with flames and smoke as the two leading men with flamers explode with their fuel canisters. The heretics temporarily handled Aurelius continues his main strike with Invictus, cutting power cables from joints and severing tendons with every opportunity Damien gives him from the Kinslayer. Chapter Master and the 3rd Captain work together without error, their twin-hearts beating in sync, every thrust of blade and block of shield example of angelic harmony.

Where Karog saw clipped angels before, he now sees Sanguinius reborn through his gene-sons and in them his own demise… until red-hot hate burns his sight and rage fills him completely. Khorne will have skulls for his throne, either Karog's or the Crimson Crusaders'. The axe that severed a million heads for the Blood God strikes once more, yearning to taste angel-blood. Its backend hits Aurelius to the stomach and throws him against the wall, while head closes to cut Damien down, who is hurrying to aid his gene-brother and master. Damien raises Soul of Fire, but not quick enough.

Karog's attack hits the storm shield and over it the shoulder of Damien, cutting deep through flesh and pulverizing bone. But pain is a familiar friend to sons of the Martyr, for Sanguinius's heirs have ever been the astartes of sacrifice. Also Karog is right where Damien and Aurelius want him to be. The storm shield momentarily stopping Karog and stealing the monster's focus Damien Cybereon strikes his sword, the Crimson Flame through the armored foot-plate of the Kinslayer, pinning him to ground. Then comes the Lord in Crimson Clad.

Aurelius Asterion fells Karog with a brutal charge, Invictus deflecting the Kinslayer's weapon ineffective and the face of Sanguinius from Aurelius's shoulder pad striking Karog's face with the fury of enraged father. The pinned leg causes Karog's upper body only to bend from the power of the Sword-Saint's rush, causing the Chaos Champion to be without defense against attacks. Aurelius's earlier sword thrusts broke the main powerlines of Karog's armor and even he couldn't raise terminator armor upright on his own without the help of arms that were still holding his axe.

Then corridor's wall shatters and decurio of Glaives Encarmine strikes the neck of Karog the Kinslayer, severing it completely… and naturally killing the Chaos Champion. The Sanguinary Guard had arrived and like some freaky quantum theory, they had come unexpected and without forewarning and taking all glory for themselves.

Still... Karog the Kinslayer was vanquished for good, in truly Aurelian style and Emperor's Galaxy was the better for it.

"Truly Damien any second now…"

Damien rose from his thoughts as he registered Aurelius's voice and raised his eyes to see Karog charging towards them… and he smiled. He knew exactly what he had to do.
