Gamehammer 40K(Warhammer 40K/The Gamer)

Also, speaking of astartes, while as an adult we normally can't get said enhancement. I figure with enough study of biology and astartes biology specifically we might one day be able to enhance ourselves similarly from reverse engineering astartes geneseed.
Although that would have probably worked better if we worked on the ship, got scouted by the mechanicus, and became a magos biologis

that's heresy

Well,I don't know much about Inquisition lore, but form Eisenhorn novel,Too puritan or too radical is a bad thing.
Sometime even ask for xeno help count as radical but if we not the whole solar system will get destroy or worse.

I do not think there is an objectively correct position in a setting like WH40K. I was just pointing out that a lot of options open up if one is high enough in the Inquisition.

The fuck is with you people and Luck?

  1. Luck controls random encounters. Do you want to run into Abandon the desployer while only with a small guardsmen squad? I'd rather have Luck high so we don't get Surprise ganked by someone so far out of weight class it's not funny.
  2. Luck controls Loot drops. High tier weapons will let us bridge the gap that our normal human WILL have in stats to everything else .
  3. Luck controls Crits. Critical hits will allow use to hurt things we should not be able to (such as Terminator armor via eye pices or weakspots)
Luck is useful as hell

???

I've already said that Luck is situational in it's use.

Also, I should probably point out that having a high crit chance isn't very useful if even with the crit your damage isn't enough to significantly harm yer target. Fer example, even with a 100% crit rate, yer current DEX wouldn't be enough to so much as scratch the paint off a Astartes armor.

Edit: Like, Luck isn't a superstat by any means, and if you invest most of yer points in it, you, uh, are probably going to have a not-fun time.

Wouldn't crit in this case mean something like hitting joint, eye piece or helmet (this one with full power shot at close range), you know things that allow normal lasgun to hurt or even kill space marine?

Something to consider bout Luck: It has zero leverage value.

By which I mean, we can't leverage a situation so that our Luck allows us to dominate. We can't use Luck to turn a piece of shit into a masterpiece. We can't use Luck to turn back an already shit situaation. We can't use Luck to gain gamebreaking abilities and skills and allies.

@jacobplm Please tell me that even if there's no coherent winning stat vote, enough people voting for stats will mean stats get spent versus a higher coherent 'save stats' vote? :(

Also, can someone give us a current tally?

And without enough damage, the astartes power armor will not take any damage even though it was hit in the join or the eye piece of the helmet. The eye piece has some clear material which is weaker than adamantium but still provides some measure of armor

That's the thing, normal, standard issue lasgun is capable of doing this so unless our weapon suddenly got downgrade in firepower there is no way for "always crit with lasgun" to be anything less than amazing when dealing with things that aren't fully immune to them.

Are you sure you are not mixing astartes las guns with PDF las guns? las guns come from anything between a pocking thingie that does piddling damage to spaceship weapons.
I am not entirely sure about the numbers but I think most PDF las guns are not gonna harm an astartes no matter where they hit, well, not with a single shot

unless our weapon suddenly got downgrade in firepower
that is possible too, since our stats act as a multiplier and let us do supernatural amounts of damage. in effect that would make our weapon usage very similar to orcs. And the nerf will eventually become a buff (when we raise the stats)
