[X] Plan Level UP

I would prefer some more focus on laser weaponry and Power Shot so we have more chance of success later over commanding others at this time though.

Holy Sigil: Valour LV1(0.0%)
You may inscribe on a piece of armor a symbol embodying the courage and valour of the Emperor. Those who wear this armor increase their willpower by 1%
For this, what we need to do is use hard armor, a sharpie, and some alcohol. That way we can make the inscription, then delete it and make it again. Repeat until we grind this to max level.

It is probably a good idea to get an initial strong focus on combat skills. On the other hand, low hanging fruit. The lower levels are easier to acquire than the latter ones.

Also, I noticed nobody said anything about training melee...

Doesn't work like that. Etching a sigil is long, time consuming, and permanent.

Alright, fair enough.
question, is the bonus based on what the skill was at the time of the etching or our current skill?
that is, if we etch 100 armors and it gets us to level 20.
will the first armor be +1% or will it be +20%?

So it's going to be a bitch to upgrade unless we become part of a forge line?
Once we become an inquisitor we would have our own small personal army, which we could just have them turn over their armor for etching. The main issue is the downtime effect it has on our training
...
alternatively, if we become a psyker we might be able to use it as a TK training exercise too.

can we etch onto any flat piece of metal? like a single sheet of metal in the shape of a bracer?
Oh, brilliant. Armor doesn't have to mean chest armor.
A helmet or a bracer is armor as well.
actually this brings up the question if we can make multiple etching on a single suite of armor (I am guessing the bonus only counts once, but it will still be good practice and look cool)

What if we make a brand in the shape of the sigil and just use that to apply it?

Also, I had a bunch of questions earlier if you didn't notice.
You can't brand armor. And if it does work I think it should not raise the skill level because every instance is a copy so we are not getting better at carving up the sigils

Given we have the Emperor's Favor actively participating in chapel, engaging in prayer, and other such devotional activities are likely our best bet for grinding Willpower, given the bolstering effect Faith has in-universe. And on the topic of grinding Machine Empathy and gaining other technological skills, approaching Tech Priests & seeking out reference material with the topic of "How do I better care for and honor the machine spirits of my equipment?" would be a better in-character method than just fondling whatever mechanism is nearby.
