We already preserve continuity of consciousness by default; we are essentially paying for a memory package that dilutes and undermines the identity of Ulyssian by choosing reincarnation, as well as weakening Odyssial's final efforts against the Usurpers with the option's opportunity costs. In addition to this, we chose against Sorcery in the last update, opting instead to leave our mark with great deeds, rather than attempting to maximize the fidelity of our reincarnation. Choosing to reincarnate over everything else we could be doing flies in the face of that, especially as we already receive increased chances from Fair. The option is superfluous, unnecessary, hurts the narrative down the road, and I am categorically against it.
[X] The Peerless City
[X] The Lathe of Heaven
The Peerless City exemplifies all the greatest and most tragic aspects of the First Age. A monument to overbearing power and hubris, now diminished, but still great by the much-reduced standards of the Age of Sorrows. It provides a fortress that is uniquely ours and ensures our legend spreads far and wide indeed, that the name of Odyssial graces the lips of scholars the world over even millennia after the man himself has fallen. Perhaps, in time, Odyssial's successor shall return to complete it.
The Lathe is the Infinite Singularity Husk. It is the core crystallization of Odyssial's ideals, the ruthless pursuit of a better world, and this choice is as central to his character as the Apex was. If the Peerless City represents all that was great of the Age of Dreams, this represents all that was great about Odyssial.
