Dungeon Crawler You!

  • You've got a point, we'll want to transfer tattoos rarely. Passing them around casually is dead in the water, but if it's important, it can be done.
  • We can live with that, we've got other ways to acquire favors and money, such as saving their lives, either with a cast of Invulnerabilty or Moose tracking them down. Note that Seeing Eye Dog is better for finding crawlers in trouble and better for finding treasures and hidden rooms.
  • We can live with our party only getting into a club like a regular crawler for one floor.
  • I went and looked it up, it's not metagaming when Levi could confirm it right now.
  • I don't think the clubs are the only two relevant areas.
Okay, so. It'll take a lot of SysOp downtime to make it so everyone can enter both clubs. Personally, I don't think it's worth it, because I don't really value it much when we really only need to do it once for Taylor. We can ensure Drew gets a Desperado pass for access to the casino by having him do something reprehensible.

For people who do value both club membership for everyone, it'll take five days of non-consecutive Sysop downtime, but that's not worth a whole class if that's your main reason for taking Bounty Hunter.

If we do go boss rushing, then we might get non-box-based loot too. Like crafting tables.
Finding loot is what Seeing Eye Dog is excellent at! Spot is for picking up hidden or overlooked treasures. Also traps. And stealthy enemies.

Incidentally, I'm happy to say that Seeing Eye Dog has jumped from a quarter of the winning votes to a full two-thirds!

That would be great actually, yeah. Perhaps we might get it on another floor with Character Actor from Drew, or if we meet someone with the class and use Sysop - although there's an opportunity cost to both. Still, organising BOSS RUSH PIRATE LOOT CRUISE 2022 does seem like to good of an idea to pass up on.

We could make little pirate hats for everyone! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

The one downside of Character Actor is that we may have this to look forward to on every floor when it's time to pick a new class for Drew. Doubly so if we use Sysop to clone Character Actor onto multiple people. There's something about choosing between abilities/shinies which makes for very compelling quest arguments.

...Maybe let's not give Character actor to other party members. 😅

Just trust the QM to give us a good character actor class that would keep things interesting and challenging. Like, having Moose choose is own race - that was so great lol.

Let's all take Boring Ol' Fighter and fight as many neighborhood bosses as we can! That sounds like incredible fun, good for our views, and a good way to level! And in the long term, having a class that scales up well will definitely be important!

I don't like having a PvP-based class. Players killers don't seem that common, and if we get famous the recap episodes will be twisted to try to make crawlers fear us. Player killing + negative recaps = bad relationships with others, which is a poor fit for the sort of cooperative strategies we were hoping to pull off with SysOp.

Collecting crafting tables and buying whatever we don't find with a cool 1 mil sounds pretty nice

Also, bounty hunter will totally result in more scrutiny. People will know that we can dump badges, so they'll feel like we're hiding something. Skulls are less of a red flag later, so the ability to hunt people with skulls becomes a red flag by itself.

Remember people when doing a vote count until the end of this vote area ends you have to gather the votes from the chapter where we choose Drews bonus stuff from his class.
Adhoc vote count started by Bond674 on Sep 29, 2022 at 4:55 PM, finished with 439 posts and 44 votes.

Who says we have to get him to do it on purpose, accidental unlocks are completely fine too. (God damnit Donut)
Drew's inherent malice won't let him do it by accident :p

Seriously? Because it would be a pain for him to get Vanquisher by accident first. SysOp is off for this level and we want him to live in Desperado's casino.
Money seems important, and in addition to our money from Drew, we can sell anything we don't need from the bosses.
If money is the top priority, the ability to scan large areas for secret doors and hidden treasure chests seems relevant. Besides, finding bosses is hard. With the choice of BOF, we'd need to locate them without Pathfinder and Acute Ears.

[x] Class: Seeing Eye Dog
[X] (Where) Large
[X] (How) Ruins
[X] Plan: prepare to munch
-[X] A spellbook of Grease
-[x] 500,000 gold pieces
[X] Plan emergencies
-[X] 20 mana potions that disregard cooldown
-[X] A spellbook of Invulnerability

Only the Mystic Scholar gets the unlocks for all skills at Level 1*. Everyone else has to train from skills they already have at level 7. We don't know how hard it is to get access to a training hall for a skill we already have, but I think it's as easy as a V/D pass-- which we can pass around with SysOp.
I interpreted that as you normally don't get access to the guild until your skill is at level 7. Only the mystic scholar automatically gets the skill unlocked but anyone who already has the skill unlocked can train it once they get in.

I do understand the push for Seeing Eye Job and easily see it as superior to Bounty - I still think it's not as good as BoF and plan to stick to my vote there.

What about me adding a vote for SED?
Is this offer still open? 21-20-16 are better numbers.

So the difference between our interpretations is that I think a normal crawler can't use the Pickpocket training dummies until 7, where you think that it's access to the Rogue Guild that houses the Pickpocket dummies that's limited until 7? Do we need EJ clarification?

Edit: Incidentally, I just realized that this floor with Ruins is the perfect place to have a skill for finding hidden doors and treasure chests. It's where treasure chests classically spawn.

This is roughly my feeling as well.

Well, maybe not "superior" - I think Plus One is probably worth more to us by itself over the course of the game than either Seeing Eye Dog or Bomb Disposal Dog, in pure mechanical terms. But I would choose either over Bounty Hunter Dog because ultimately they revolve thematically around Moose being a dog, which is what I'm looking for.

But my desire to see the Legendary Super Doge made manifest is too strong to veer off course.

According to Levi, one cannot walk into a training guild until they have level 7 in the relevant skill. The difference between "cannot enter" and "cannot train there" has never mattered before and he doesn't know the answer.
Does a training guild only train a single relevant skill? This would mean that using the Plus One exploit would only share skills the party already has.

I'm really not seeing it. Seeing Eye Dog allows us to find and rescue entire other crawlers, while also bringing trapfinding, treasurefinding, secret-door-finding, stealthed-enemy-finding, stairwell-finding, information about mobs in a very large area and danger sense to the table.

Moose managing to share Pathfinder with the rest of us isn't that gamechanging, nice though it would be to get it on Taylor. Plus One transferred to Taylor? I expect to have better options.

On a side note, for some reason I ended up thinking about songs which went with each of the party's classes. No, I don't know why.

But anyway, Drew's class song is already taken care of (thanks to Rachel Bloom), but that still leaves Moose, Calliope, and Trey. Wheeler Dealer might go with Limp Bizkit's Rollin', which amusingly is eight years older than Leo herself, although it is a level of sheer distilled noughties cringe that I feel it probably violates several intergalactic treaties. Not sure about the others, open to suggestions!

Although thinking about it, rather than theme songs for their classes, we probably also want to think about good theme songs for the characters. For uh, socials, or something. 😅

Final argument for Seeing Eye Dog, we don't have much time on this floor. We need to quickly find a stairwell, quickly level, quickly find bosses, and quickly search the ruins for treasure. SED can do all that, other classes can't.

For Taylor, perhaps something from this album? Any number of them could suit.
