Dungeon Crawler You!

Drew can probably pull off the image of wearing one of those suits if they have OP environmental effects, both hot and cold. Maybe a taylor as well?

Look for any logo for manufacturers for the environmental suit, make copies of it on party gear. Film an infomercial on the suits by having Taylor show off their capabilities in both the hot pipe and cold pipe at the same time.

[x] Get Drew and start trekking down the pipes towards where the trains are going, see where exits are. Make sure everyone has a bubble suit on, just in case

Emergency drainage and the suits makes me think the hatches need to be forced shut so the crawlers can ride the eventual wave of liquid to the exits

Thanks! I'm determined to be faster with the next one. Which is a low bar.
See if we can get someone back down the line at a *7 stop watching a pipe
That's likely not going to be practical. The train lines wander around a lot instead of running in a straight line, so there's no way to predict which line they would need to be on at the relevant time. Also, a lot of people are further up the line than Team Trick Shot by now.

Can the hatches be opened from the inside?
Yes, although the water is flowing *fast*. Stopping at a specific point would be a serious challenge.

The pipe doesn't specifically follow the train line, and there's no way to walk down the tracks regardless.

Which reminds me that it's been a bunch of minutes. Quick reminder: the whole level is trains and they come in two types: named and subway. Named trains run in a loop but their lowest stop is always at 81, where everyone started. The goal is to get to the stairs, and every subway line has stairs at stations 12, 24, 36, 48, and 72.

These pipes are the first way that anyone has found to move down the line.

How powerful is it when Moose changes size? Could he burst a pipe? Though it's probably better if he just gets big enough to brace himself and pushes with his immense strength. He can push more moderately and anchor too, which leaves some room for the water to keep flowing between his legs.

Moose is also the spotter so if he goes in front he can respond to hazards fastest. Front anchor means that when he stops everyone bounces comically off his arse. I see no problem with this. A pipe is an excellent place to deploy legions rush should there be a pipe monster.

Too bad there wasn't a go pro in the fully packed bags or something. Taylor could go briefly in it and teleport out if needed? But may not get a lot of info that way. My big worry is that there's some trap in there that's deadly until someone figures out the trick.

There can be a couple of GoPros in the bags. They basically contain anything that might plausibly have been purchased and isn't ridiculously heavy / large / expensive / rare / illegal.

Well, surveillance to make sure it's safe before human (and animal) testing would be cool...
I do also like the product ad idea for the suits, if our manager thinks it'll be net beneficial.

Even if not GoPros, we explicitly said that we would have mobile devices containing info from Wikipedia, YouTube, and other sources. These devices would quite likely contain cameras so all you would have to do is just make sure they are waterproofed enough to use in the pipe.

Oh hey, didn't even notice the post in January, glad to see this is back

I like this one. Sell out... for humanity.

So, do we think the pipe system is a standard thing on the ship? Something that the infection is spreading though? Or maybe we can use it to fight the infection?
Like is this the late phase response to the infection that will kill it but wipe out most crawlers?
If these same hatches exist in other spots can we have people start stock piling those breathing baggies?
We should probably do that anyways.

I realized I never stated this, but the hot-water pipe runs up the line. I should fix that in the chapter.

Voting will close at 6:30pm Eastern.

Reports are going to start coming in soon telling you that yes, every x7 station has these pipes. The hot one always runs up the line, the cold one runs down. They all have three bubbles (the underwater-inspection things) and the roboarms will make more when a bubble is removed from its holder. It takes about 30 minutes to spin a new bubble.

Ok, so 30 minutes is probably too long for everyone to get one of the bubbles. Maybe not depending on how many stations we have access to that ends in 7. Either way gathering them, and having others do the same, couldn't hurt.

I'm starting to think this is more similar to the ghoul Rollercoaster. If this is at all like the books that is. So, not the only way back down the line (and not the easiest one) but still an option.

Gather enough Bubbles for the whole party plus spares. Do they come with lights? If not, make sure we have waterproof lights.
Join back up with Drew, open boxes, see if Levi has advice/goodies for pipe travel.
Take a trip down the cold pipe a couple of hatches. Moose in front.
Frame the trip as an infomercial for the bubbles as per Sponsors in Unlikely Places.

Been mostly my problem - this quest overwhelmed me a bit ha, a ton of fun but so much to figure out and a lot of brainstorming needed for the character building. Also I think our niece being made a catgirl might have turned me away.

That said, eventually I'll blast through the quest again and start voting again.

I remember adoring our good doggo who became sapient because of a neat glitch.

What was it about the catgirl thing that made you bounce off? If it helps, I think it's been very much an offscreen thing -- there's an occasional reference to it when it makes sense, but it's mostly not mentioned.

Intrinsically I link catgirls to fetishizing and connecting that to the young niece was very much offputting for me. Let me be clear it's a me thing - I understand that isn't the intent but for me the two are so closely connected in my brain that it's difficult to separate the two. In other words, it gives me an instinctual ick.
