Dungeon Crawler You!

Voting is open for the next 2 days, 7 hours
The only skills he has that he can train are:
1, crafting and bombs.
2, Yoyo has to depends if his yoyo duplicates...
3, Gold grabber could be decent. Flank enemies via blink and grab from opposite.
4. Firearms which will run out.
5. Blink

Mostly equipment and items limited, except Gold Grabber and blink.
That all changes with the Spellbook choice.
Drew will get spells (from class, from Actor class) share them, we grind them.

Yo Taylor can do nasty tricks with teleporting and inviolable string. Like, it's hard to picture but he's still a combat monster with this combo

Also, do we think Taylor has spare yoyos? I'm pretty sure he brought some for diy segments. Won't be useful until he gets more dungeon upgrade goo (if he ever does), but still useful for style points or celeb appearances

How is an indestructable self-tightening garrote, when you can teleport it around their neck, hard to picture being stupidly good? There's also the throw the yoyo, increase it's mass, and then teleport so the yoyo immediately hits something option

10 pm tonight in your timezone means

I think you forgot to adjust for daylight savings
Daylight savings can go [redacted] itself in the ear. *grumble, grumble*

Taylor does in fact have spare yo-yos but they are unenhanced and most aren't as good quality as his Skyhawk.

A thing I'm a bit worried about is that if we go doppleganger we might not be able to help Calliope learn how to use it.
The difference comes in that the other character we know of who had the race had issues with showing up as a human at all Until she met up with Carl and Donut's manager Mordecai, who gave her tips and hints for holding a humanoid form.
(Might be that was because he was a changeling, he had more experience with changing forms, even though the races aren't the same and all or it might just be that he had experience dealing with crawlers with this race.)

So you guys hope that Levi will manage to teach Calliope to keep a form correctly instead of turning into a pile of goop.

Then again, Katia's Guide was utter dogshite and nothing more needs to be said about that person.

This might be a reason to go for the catkin path. (just saying.)
I am not really worried about this. As you said Katia's guide was totally unhelpful. With Mordecai's help, and iirc finally having access to a mirror, she was able to mostly fix her appearence. Levi may not know as much as Mordecai about shapeshifters, but he would definitely help Calliope, and I expect Taylor to have mirrors. Moreover, Calliope would be much more motivated to have a cool appearance and pull nice tricks than floor 3 Katia, and she's much more self-confident. So all in all, I expect her to adapt much quicker.

She also would have nothing else to focus on and train, since her class is just an automatic box opening skill.

Can patches come at any time? For some reason I thought they could only patch things at the end of a floor.

I'm not sure. I would assume that if you find some big exploit (like scribing out 100 create spellbook spells) it would probably be fixed pretty quickly and then notified to everyone at the end of the floor.

Honestly I don't really like Catkin because making our fourteen year old niece a catgirl seems like it's inviting the kind of attention we don't really want, especially as it is explicitly flagged as inviting sexualisation by the audience. Obviously this is one of the potential outcomes when you have people essentially forced to cultivate subscriber count on pain of death, but it's not really one I'm that interested in seeing.

As far as Doppelganger goes, "I am covered in half an inch of steel and have flexible extendable swords for arms" is pretty sweet both in terms of offence or defence.

Where is it flagged as inviting sexualisation? The impression I got was that catkin are more preferred by the audience over more uninteresting/gross races rather than explicitly being sexual.

One thing I will note is that catkin tend to be popular with the audience." He cleared his throat. "Although some of that popularity is a bit...carnal. If you ever get a PR rep or buy the social media upgrades for a personal space, you might want to think carefully before asking to see what people are saying and sensestreaming about you."

Well, obviously it's a bad idea to search yourself on the internet if you're famous.
Also, fans just gotta fan, a lot of them are just really creepy.

They can do patches at least at every recap episode. As shown by them patching the two inventory exploits other people found on the first day.

We really need to know Levi's spell list. His class was Battle Klepto, IDK what spells he learnt. He might as well have no spells known.
Levi — Lepotrichus — Bardic Adept. Level 56.

It's unclear in canon. They are typically announced on the recap show, which means that they can be done every day at least.

Yup. With Mordecai's help she went from "inhuman and terrifying" to "human but very ugly" in a few hours. They then went down to the fourth floor, she bought a crafting table and went from "human but very ugly" to "looks enough like Hekla to fool Carl" in the time it took Carl and Donut to go to the club.

Yeah, I'm not comfortable sexualizing a 14-year-old either. It will not be onscreen in any significant fashion -- not at all for the 3rd floor, certainly. If and when y'all eventually buy a personal space and some social media upgrades then there might be the *very* occasional mention of it, but not at all graphic.

At least we're not Carl, who at this point probably have someone making a porn of him and that one prince named Maestro.
(Slowly re-reading my way through the books.)

Yeah, remember the first time we went on Second Stringers Saved and there were fans in the audience propositioning Drew? And all this before he got turned into an anime-hair gigachad, mind you. The fanbase of the Dungeon Crawl show is large enough that there's already countless rabid stalker fans for each and every one of us.

Assume (without basis) that 0.01% of followers are outspoken creeps.
multiply by 1.4 Trillion followers...
140 million outspoken creeps.

Then Remember that only 0.01% outspoken creeps among the followers of a live-streamed death game like this is probably VERY optimisitic and severly undercounting the creeps...

The math points to yikes. Big Yikes.

This has honestly been my largest issue with the catkin; that catgirls have lots of associated connotations just feels ick to me. I've had no clue how to address it in thread though.
Honestly? Probably just ignore it.
If eagle isn't interested in writing disgusting shit and we aren't asking about disgusting shit, we can probably just pretend that it doesn't exist.

I want the Catkin option primarily for the randomness that it has. This is both because of the luck bonus, but also because the AI seems to want to mess with the showrunners to some degree in a way that seems favorable to us (Sysop) and therefore may set the rules so Drew's luck bonus can work on the roll, add new options for subraces, or alter the odds in some way if we give it the opportunity to.

That's fair, though I trust EJ to respect Leo as a person and focus on her badass aspects rather than the pervs. I want genre defying lava breathing soul stealing badass terrifying longboat riding catkin, not the gross tropes yanno

Edit: I meant longboard, but longboat is funny too
