Digging for Nations in the Desert (No SV, You are a Micronation in the End of the World)

Plan: Full Econ
-[X]Set up Safe Zones: You need to win some goodwill with the people, and the world. Safe zones will be established by your forces, and they will win.(Cost 1 Control)
-[X]The Bush Wars of Rhodesia (Revolutionaries): Well you might not like those boys, the snakes that you have heard of willing to send places to hell for their men, but you were not interested. There would be the African Republic. Though the less time with Mugabe, the better. (Cost 4 Control)
-[X]Build up Trade Relations (Sudan) Well, you might as well start to try and look legitimate. (Cost 3 Control)
-[X]Starting up the Fire of Industry: Well there is no time like the present to decide to turn a single patch of desert into something amazing (Cost 2 Control)
-[X]Building a Home for a Family: You did Promise that one woman you love a villa. Best get on that. (Cost 3 Control)
-[X]Medical Tents and Other signs of Health: You need to set up medical pavilions, and places for injured soldiers to heal. (Cost 6 Control)
-[X]Begin Importing Oil Drillers and Refinery parts: You have oil. Now you just need to know how much you need to start drilling. (Cost 5 Control)
-[X]Tapping the Water Reserve: You need to get access to the underground water reserves. (Cost 5 Control)
-[X]River Connections and if Such irrigation is possible?: Wait there is something that can make the Nile reach you? Inconceivable?! (Cost 1 Control)
-[X]Survey the Desert (Precious metals): You know there is gold and silver, but what about everything else? (Cost 3 Control)
-[X]Survey the Desert (Oil): You need oil. And a lot of it. (Cost 6 Control)

-[X]Land Development and other signs of Civilization: Maybe you can make infrastructure, and roads that will make things. (Cost 1 Control)
-[X]Create something new (Agriculture): Well maybe you can use that big brain and do something amazing. (Cost 3 Control)
--[X] God damnit we will solve this water retention problem! Unless that's not what's capping our agriculture level, in which case do that first.
-[X]Create something New(Industry) Well maybe you can use that big brain and do something amazing. (Cost 3 Control)
--[X]Something regarding construction. We have a lot of buildings to build, after all.
-[X] Li Mei - (RP)
--[X]UN Speech? UN Speech!
--[X]Get to know Vasily, round 2: Double date with his partner and Ma.
--[X]See if we can find anyone around here (or elsewhere and willing to migrate) who's an expert on stuff that isn't murder. We're gonna need all kinds of skill sets to make this nation work.

Total Control Cost: 50

Our only +10 is the 1 cost Safe Zone thing that is well within our ethos (I am so damn glad to have a positive social score), everything else is higher
Very heavy econ owing to part of our bonus there being temporary, with a side of research to support it.

Not sure we should be going oil early but I'm hoping that the money from it will help us grow faster. Open to hearing alternatives on it (or anything, really)

If we clean up the newsletter, think we could get it recognized by the UN?
And hell, maybe we could use peacekeeping missions to get the new blood some experience. You know, keep up the good PR. Don't advertise to the Great powers. Advertise to the UNSC.

And it would probably be nice for the young idealists.

And honestly, peacekeeping is probably one of the less ambiguous jobs morally we could do. Of course, we don't exactly have much experienced in such operations either...😅

A Letter from the Glorious Leader
-[X]Say Hello To the Glorious Leader: Wei is a fine boy, last you met him. He seems now to be a fine man. Perhaps there will be no hard feelings about the whole… going mercenary thing. (Cost 1 Control) Rolled:D100 + 10 => 49

You had sent a letter, but only received a very lukewarm response.

You and Ma looked at the letter that went on and on about you being a traitor to the people and how your politics were.

Frankly, you got bored after the first three lines, they were so unoriginal. Why can't world leaders be original in their threats?

Like the Cossacks letter was amazing. Why weren't more letters written like that?

Cut you were seen now.

Reward: You have sent a letter to the Glorious leader.

His response was about in line with what you expected. He wants you dead.
Honestly, I am now slightly sad that I didn't get a PM to write the letter Jungmin sent back, what with how he is currently (planned) reacting to the news of Li Mei and her fathers treasonous actions. And the massive amounts of stress he is under. And how his reaction would have been radically different.

Edit:
Written It! :V
To the Majestic and Mighty Lands of Wài Tiāntáng, Lords of the War and Desert, Breakers of the Swordsmen, ruled by the Mighty Mercenary Lord of Man, She Who Conquered the Desert and Commander of the Armies. AKA Lord of Generals or Just Lord, Li Mei!

Yes, we'll include the full title! She may be a capitalist traitor, but that is no reason to be rude!

Anyways, as thanks for your actions in uncovering the treason of your father, the actions of yadda, yadda, include the whole thing; I don't have the time to say it out, I have instructed the ambassador to the UN to recognize your nation and the lands you claim.

However, with you technically deserting, pissing off China, which, let's be honest, was funny, and kicking other Imperials Cucks in the face, I am forced, with a heavy heart and heavy hand, entirely due to sleep deprivation, cause fuck the Americans! to exile you from the Most Glorious Democratic People's Republic of Guangchou, Light of All Nations, Defender of Humanity, and Paradise on Earth, and dishonorably discharge you out of the army. Expect your pension check the moment you have a postal service.

Also, get fucked, literally or metaphorically, I don't care, and stay the hell away from the island; we have more than enough problems without you around. Sergeant Su still can't go anywhere near milk, poor guy.

With best regards, Wei Jung-what? What the fuck do you mean a farmer is threatening the carrier with an army of Geese? For fucks sake! Get the idiot away from them now!

What do you me-no, I don't have time to edit the letter, just chuck it in their general direction!

Reward: You are now recognized by Guangchou, exiled from the nation, will receive a check for your time in the army once you have a postal service, and are reminded of that time you pranked Sergeant Su. Good times!

Does the UN formally recognize newsletters?
Yeah, I don't want us to lock ourselves into UN jobs at this point or anything, but they do seem like a good bunch to get on the right side of and I'd be happy to have us do some work for them.

On an unrelated note, our population is still at 2. I don't know if the mercs consider themselves "residents" (they have lived here for the last 6 months, so I sure would) but at minimum I'd think Vasily & co. should be on the list.

At the moment, no.

And seeing as the state we operate is currently very much on the fringe, and even in the whispers of Terrorist state is being thrown around.

However, since we have been recognized by some powers that be, we will be fine, as long as we don't do something stupid.

While the UN Jobs will give you recognition and prevent you from say, being hauled before the Hauge for war crimes, you will still have to be careful. After all, bad things may happen to blue helmets, doubly so if the CIA/KGB wants you personally dead.

THe Pop won't update until there are actual citizens that want to be citizens. Everyone else is foreign workers that are living here, and paying taxes.

Yeah...
Peacekeepers are generally put in places where the locals are hostile, or pretty much guerilla warfare being expected, which....
Means it would be relatively simple for outside actors to 'disappear' certain members during operations, or generally making things especially nasty.

So uh, I did one of the actions rolls.

Let me tell ya this.

941.

THat is the total that you have for one of your actions.
