Turn 5: Strength, Muscle, and Friendship
-[X]Store Guns You have a bunker, so at least the weapons will be safe (Cost 1 Control)
D100 + 20 => 78
The Bunker had been sealed with a little bit of work, and the markings that denoted, not only its contents but of who owned it. Now obviously, someone who was smart would realize that it was booby-trapped with some tripwire that was buried in the sand.
But knowing most people, no one would be out here, it would be forgotten, and then there would be a very fun time with someone, or something getting blown up by the God damn grenades that were there.
Unless they had the luck of the devil and somehow escaped the grenade's blast radius before it exploded. Or they managed to close the door because, Goddammit you were being smart and now you were thinking about going back.
No, you would not go back and change it to make it easier to disarm.
You would just have to live with it.
But how would they-
No, no going back until you needed it.
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Guns are Secure." You stated.
"Did you booby trap them with the grenades a few inches away from the door?" Ma asked as she served the soup she made. "Your favorite."
"You know that's exactly what I did," you said as you took a bite, tasting only dirt and sand, before spitting it out. "It's got sand in it!"
"Yes, like my boots, my ass, and everything else because you promised me a villa!"
"I said we would get one!"
Reward: Guns secured.

-[X]A Little Help From My Friends: You have some old mercenary friends that might be able to help out with you. You can give them a call. (Cost 3 Control)

You smiled. "Did you say you called everyone?"
Ma smirked as she handed over the radio. "Every single one of them. They even brought their friends too, and a few Americans that wanted out from Vietnam."
"So we got draft dodgers?" You asked.
"No, POWs." She replied. "Got a friend up at the Hanoi Hilton, they've got a few boys that they don't want to give back to the Americans. Boys that they wanted to send out deep into the jungle, but due to some bullshit on their end, couldn't move them. Nixons pressuring them to be released back to America. But they don't want to go back just yet."
"Why?" You asked.
"Cause they heard about some bush war in North Africa and Sudan, where bad people are charging good money to fight. They want something to bring back to their families, and of course, get revenge on some foreign captor that was torturing them?"
"What was his name?" You asked. "Cause I might make it happen."
"It's Silver Snake. Remember him?" Your face morphed into a frown as you heard the name. "Yeah. I remember. He's like an uglier, more stupid version of Che. At least Che was good-looking."
"I thought you admired him?" Ma asked.
"He was handsome but his views on people like us are disgusting and pig-headed. I sympathized with his ideals of making the world a better place, but not with his methods. People should not be forced to bear the change. They need to be the ones who need to bring their change. No government, nor revolutionary should."
"And what does that make you?"
"I don't know, that is for history to decide." You said.
---------------------------
You smiled as you saw them all, all five hundred men and women setting up camp with their trucks. "Holy fuck Boss." a male's voice chirped and you saw the man whom you never thought you would see again.
"Mad Mike, you bastard!" You shook the man's hand as you greeted him. "I thought you were back in Ireland?"
"And miss out on the lady's first conquest? When you needed help, not a fucking chance! We Wild Geese may have a homeland, but that does not mean we forget those who helped us." He then pointed to everyone. "Got Fred, Peter, and all the others. Also," He handed over a letter. "David called, and said hello, and if you needed any help, give him a call, and he'll come running, especially if it involves securing interests that benefit the both of us."
David Sterling? You chuckled. "Thought he wanted to kill me for that mess in Vietnam? Or that detail in Lybia?"
That made Mike laugh. "Oh you know Dave, he's very much a man of principle, and he knows that there is no bad blood between you two. Otherwise, he would have cheered the Chinese when they tried to kill you."
"You sure I'm not some Lass who stole the identity of your Lady of War and bringing you in to recruit you all?" You questioned, a grin on your face.
"No one else would have the balls, lady or otherwise to bring your friends down to a shithole in the desert, and just tell them you're the leader of the country here?" He said with a straight face. "Or am I wrong?"
You smiled. "I got a few thousand rifles that can be used as payment, and once everything is settled, we can talk about payment."
"Li Mei, for you, half these lads would work for free. You saved their lives."
"Most of them." You stated. "I don't know the Vietnam boys that you are bringing, and I am pretty sure that Frank hasn't met me face to face when not being held at gunpoint."
Mike smiled. "Well, you have an army of mercenaries here and now, well supplied and well-motivated. We may not be looking for a paycheck, but what can you offer us?"
You smiled. "A seat in history. How would you like to build a nation for people like us?
Reward: Pretty much every mercenary working on the continent and even some who are not have come to join this nation of Mercenaries in the Desert.

-[X]A Bear By the Name of Aristov: Aristov has a problem. His wife and five children are in Alexandria, and he knows he cannot reach them alone. Why do you think he came on bended knees asking for your help. (Cost 2 Control)

Vasily Aristov was certainly an interesting sight, even when he was on horseback. He rode with the skill of an old Cossack of old, a Russian Boulgar that was riding into battle, his armor, instead of steel and iron, was leather, velcro, and a flak vest and a Titanium helmet.
An AK was his sword and he held it in his hand. "I was wondering when you would come." He said as he dismounted, and allowed his horse to lay down, petting it. He had no intention of harming you, nor his animal. "You know why I asked you here?"
"Your family." You replied. "You want me to help them, and in return?"
"This patch of dirt and my AK is all I've got." He stated. "Men hate me. And I hate them. Russia will not accept me, and I refuse to defect to the United States."
You sat down and faced him. "And so you sought to reinvent yourself here in Africa?"
"Isn't that why you are here?" He stated. "Seeking reinvention?"
"Truthfully, I just wanted to fuck my father over by telling him that I achieved more without him than with him." You said.
"Daddy issues? THat caused you to come here and found a state?" He chuckled "Darkly humorous."
"Well, it could be worse. I could be a monster." You said.
Vasily nodded. "Da." He than sighed. "Will you help me?"
"I will. On one condition." You stated. "My mission, my op, my rules of engagement."
Vasily nodded. "Very well."

-[X] Try to spread positive press through word of mouth about our nation while we're out on Aristov's mission Rolled:
D100 => 100
"In Egypt today," Walter Cronkite spoke with his usual, upbeat cadence. "Unknown forces of a fourth party joined the civil war for the fighting in the Siege of Alexandria. After threats from the Islamists, under the command of a council of Islam, called the Brotherhood, threatened, that if the city were not to surrender immediately, and all non-Muslim denizens were killed, in the name of Allah, they would raze the city to the ground, and kill everyone. Other Government forces and Rebel forces were unable to set up a ceasefire in time to protect the city, as fire rained down upon them from Government aircraft." Walter Cronkite almost didn't believe the story he was reading. After all, until less than an hour ago, when every single station in the world was giving this same story, no one believed it. But the report was from cameras on numerous sources within the city, and from those mysterious saviors themselves. "I inform you all, that viewers' discretion is advised."
"At 9:55 AM Local time, three helicopters that were not part of any national military broke through air defenses and Brotherhood control and rained fire upon the surrounding forces blockade, and announced that if they were fired upon, they would not hesitate to stop the war themselves."
Images played. A camera rolled as they dismounted a helicopter, and then jumped, without a zipline, and only a rope from the helicopter to keep them from dying.
Bullets fired. And none of the footage that was caught from the cameraman that jumped would be suitable for a live broadcast. No one would ever see it, at least not now.
But he had seen it. So much blood, so much death. How could one man be such an efficient machine of death? It mattered little, because he found what he looked for, and from his Russian words, it was his family.
But a minute later, there was a cut, and then climbing up the side of the building, with explosions going off, was the man who jumped, holding five people. A woman, and four children, all in his arms.
The rest of the footage played out as the mercenaries, climbed back into the helicopter, and then left.
The footage came from a nation called: The Majestic and Mighty Lands of Wài Tiāntáng, the rest of the name was scrubbed off, marked off by a pen. It was much longer, but the postage was not there. Well, kinda.
It was rubbed off.
Your translators that knew the dialect said it meant one thing.

"We lost a truck and that had half the equipment, and then there was nothing we could do to save the other half.

-[X] Be extra attentive to Ma Tang. We're gonna build that villa, we swear, just gotta get things rolling. Rolled:
D100 => 44
You handed over the plans. "Is that really what you want?" You said.
"I want a pool. I want a god damn villa with air conditioning." Your wife said as she put a knife into the paper, and the table. "I want you to keep your god damn promises!"
"I know that, but there are finner details we need to go over." You whispered, trying to not earn her ire.
It was not enough. "Fuck that, I want this villa, designed to specifications!"
It was large. "Can't we make it a high rise?" You asked.
"No."
Reward: You have earned the approval of continuing the plan, with a very large villa.
-[X] Chat with our mercenary buddies about how things are going elsewhere in the world. I'm sure they have some interesting gossip for us. Rolled:
D100 => 98
"There is an Aircraft carrier beached up on your home country. Weird shit too, your most Glorious leader hasn't done anything yet, but seems to be not trying to kill them all."
You frowned. "I wasn't expecting that. I was thinking he was going to throw them into a volcano."
"I don't think anyone is that stupid or drunk yet. But, there is some news you may wanna hear?" Mike started. "China's put a bounty on your head. 1 ton of gold for your head."
"You gonna cash it in?" You asked.
"Hell no, you're far more interesting as an ally than an enemy. Plus, after the shit you pulled in Alexandria, no one is going to be trying to kill you for a while, at least until that stuff goes into the stuff of legend." Mike replied with a smile. "Plus I think killing a head of state is an act of war, and right now, you're the Boss."
You smiled. "Thanks, Mike."
"Don't thank me Lassy. Thank the lads and lasses that decided to stay."
The mercenaries all looked to you and saluted. "We're your's boss!"
"I hope you like construction?" You asked.
"Ah, a little grunt work never scared them, why should it now." He said.
Reward: You learned a few rumors, and the mercs are willing to be laborers, provided you are reasonable.
And successful.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"I hate this."
"Well, you're going to need to address the world, so bloody well do it." Ma said. "Now just say what you want, or need to say, and then we are golden."
You sighed, prepared with a deep breath, then spoke.
What is your speech?:
