When, exactly, are we gonna get started on this Megaproject? Feels like we're delaying it too much.

There is a set of trails that has been in the backlog from before the Sacred Forests project was even a thing and I want to get that done. That and I also want to have 12 permanent econ before starting yet another megaproject. I've been wanting that since before the mountain trails...

And Maradysh expanded weary quickly, they need to consolidate. We don't need to take all of our vassals heros.
Which is why I also voted for the Martial one as well. But if it's between both of them or neither then I'm choosing both.

Well if we're really lucky they'll resolve this by finally integrating entirely as part of us.

Except that's not likely and we wouldn't get an extra action to support them soo, maybe not the best idea.
Issue with that is that letting the Vanaydians lose would lower our stability by 1, which we kinda need since we are at 4/3 right now, which is like... super bad. Getting them to win, will increase our legitimacy by 1, to 4/3 which is also super bad. So we really need to not let them lose at the very least, even if peaceful doesn't decrease our stability.

I don't really have a will to take both of our vassals hero's.

Holy...
You are suggesting to use mechanical reasoning to pick bad options in a game where mechanics are by WOG less important than the story? Talk about a case of planting the wind to reap whirlwinds.

Except there are narrative reasons for those mechanics being in place, and those numbers being what they are? Like, our high stability led to the whole conform to the standard debuff of our new community unity value. Its already caused us negatives, and its not a bad option, its an option that we want. We want to keep them separate because them being separate gives them their own actions, their own studies, their own everything. Which is just more actions for our group as a whole.

[Mega]: Everything aside from the two values can happen through our direct actions, and even then the values are random. Plus becoming more magical people, while furthering the divide between outsider and natural-born people, is also pretty heccin' cool dood.

It's one of our biggest advantages, and while we should be wary of leaning on any one advantage, it's a unique thing that we may as well further.

[North]: It's the way that most fits with us, I feel, and I doubt we'd make anything worse. We shouldn't support either side because that involves killing People, but we also shouldn't let them fight it out as that will also probably involve killing People. This way might not work, but it's what we should do. It's who we are.

[South]: I kind of agree with Soulcake. The Monarchy shouldn't just try and absorb anyone of note. If they come into a relationship with Darvyd more naturally, maybe, but we shouldn't just force random people into our family because they're useful.

There is an argument to be made that the Maradysh don't really need Diplomatic or Martial heroes, but to me personally, it doesn't counteract this idea that the Monarchy just tries to blend with anyone useful. Though as has been said, Diplomatic heroes could really be put to good use with the Merntir. Can we use them for the Merntir even if we don't marry them?

[X] [SEC] Support Subordinate = (Merntir)
[X] [SEC] Study Metal.

(Create New Trails): Fulfilling this aspect of our infrastructure is something that our culture demands. In addition to this it shores up our ability to rapidly respond to developments as well our ease of transportation for trade, military, etc. We've nearly got this part done.

(Support the Merntir): While they likely won't need it, it sends a good message for our negotiations, as well as helps soothe any issues that may develop against the Arthwyd. Additionally if the situation does turn for the violent, support in rebuilding their civilization may go a long way.

They aren't the Maradysh, they're probably not going to hate us for it. We won't be supporting any one side either. We're supporting the Merntir. Both of them, all of them.

(Study Metal): We should do this in the near future. Metal furthers our development, obviously, but it also gives us a free exploration which ties into the plan we can follow of broadening our knowledge and connections to the world.

Establishing long-term friendly, trading relations with potential enemies, allies, and sources of information will give us wealth and an early-warning against threats unknown.

(Palisade): We should also do this in the near future. The Palisade meanwhile ties into our want to complete all our infrastructure and defend all our settlements. It's worth keeping in mind however that when we do start building stonewalls, these will likely be obsolete. It's a too-risky idea, but it's worth keeping in mind for some planners.

It's also worth noting that just because those factions timers say four turns doesn't mean we'll have four turns to complete it. As has been shown in the past, narrative developments can very easily push factions away from their goal, even if we have a time limit that hasn't run down yet.

[X] [SEC] Explore Lands = (Lowlands)
[X] [SEC] Explore Lands = (Lowlands)

[X] [SEC] Trade Expedition = (Boarfolk Nomads)
[X] [SEC] Trade Expedition = (Lowlands)

Trade! And exploration! These votes tie into one of our potential plans. Where we seek to gain knowledge of potential threats, gain allies and trading partners, and absorb any technological developments so we don't get consumed by a technological advantage.

We're currently in the Copper age, likely relatively soon to be the Bronze Age. Historically the Bronze Age was a time of, as far I'm aware, unprecedented international trade. We can get in on this, we can get wealthy and strong from this. We have marketable products, and we have a relatively strong homeland.

If we want Catpeople Hoplites we gots ta trade! Also if we face an enemy from across the sea, we're going to want to already have a strong naval tradition. Also colonies & (potentially) conquest come into the mix as well.

Magna Arthwydia!

[] [SEC/MAIN] Build Temple = (Target)
S: -6 Temp Econ, -1 Temp Mystic, -1 Temp Culture, +1 Temple (+1 Mystic per a Temple)
M: -12 Temp Econ, -2 Temp Mystic, -2 Temp Culture, +2 Temples (+1 Mystic per 3 Shrines),
-Possible Targets: Greenbay (0/2), Rockbay (0/1), Sunrise Bay (0/1)
-1 Temple slot unlocked for every 2 Settlements in a province

Also 4/3 stability probably isn't good. We shouldn't overvalue mechanics, but having too much or too little of legitimacy and stability is narrative. They're narrative stats. That sad, don't let People kill People anyways.
EDIT: Edited to include study metal, because we may as well do it while we can. It might not be there forever. 2nd edited to approval vote for the martial sister.

I think we should focus on making the best decision possible, and then worry about too high stability later.

Edit: To make this less of a waste post, I'm going to say that arranged marriages are not the same as forced marriages, since I'm getting the feeling that people are conflating the two. The former is every bit as consensual as love marriages, only that the families of the potential union are arranging things. It can be broken off if neither the groom or bride to be consents to the marriage.
