CHESS MAFIA 2

I guess also on the subject of restarting- I think pawns having a 1-shot neighborizing power might have a similar issue anyway, since there's very little reason I can think of that a scum would neighborize each other, so the logic that's at work right now might still hold, i.e. a scum's partner is town, and the partner of a town piece is more likely to be scum.

It might even be potentially worse given that some people could be in multiple neighborhoods (and actually their likely would be at least 1 such person).

Scum could play around this by pretending to neighborize each other though? I still think it's pretty unlikely that they'd actually do so, but it'd be something we'd have to play around rather than something we know can't happen.

Also as a matter of mechanics, even if you can lie about who you are in Pawn QTs, Pawns can still mechanically verify identities to each other by making use of the main thread (by having their partner pass them a unique phrase or something to use in the main thread), although at the risk of leaking info (if the phrase is too obvious). Pawn pairs can mechanically verify that they are pawns to the rest of the thread that they are pawns by using a similar method, with the exceptions of Rosen's partner and Zaealix/hugh's partner. If their partner was scum they could still pretend switch though, having the scum partner they are pretending to be use the phrase.
Partnered with a dead scum i still possible to work around simply by requiring new codephrases with each day phase, but this whole idea starts to run into:
  1. Post only clear text messages. Don't use hidden, illegible, or coded messages.
  2. Paraphrase all content from QuickTopics and Host PMs. Don't directly quote from either.
Probably better to instead just summarize the contents of your QTs instead if you're going to try and do something like that?

On reflection I think it's likely that Zaealix is town and insofar as him claiming hugh's partner hurts town, it was likely town making a mistake rather than a scum play, as I think it's misplay either way.

Things don't seem to really be moving along at the moment, and I can't be at my laptop rn, so...

@hailcapital I want you to explain the way you broke up the wagon at the end of Day 1 and why you did it that way.

@hailcapital I want you to explain the way you broke up the wagon at the end of Day 1 and why you did it that way.

Okay, so it was partially a further break up of Rosen's list, and might have been tainted by that, but the general idea was

First Category
Original_Name, Projject_Delta

Second Category
Shadell & Usili

Third Category
Me, Nictis, Shalmoa, QT, and Rosen

First Category has Original_Name and @Projject_Delta in it. Original_Name's vote started out as a meme vote made in the first 20 minutes of the game. Projject_Delta's vote was later, but still on the first day, and given at least my perception of his inexperience, the lack of any given reasoning, and the fact that he originally didn't want to vote at all seemed like a "guess I'll vote for someone" thing. These could arguably be broken up a bit more but then each would be in it's own category.

Second Category were two votes made on the last day of the first Game Day. This was after a few people (including both myself and Rosen, who we now know was scum) had noted behavior they didn't like from hugh, and IIRC both people here had at least some reasoning behind the vote when they made it, even if it was just them saying that they thought he was being a bit shady.
Arguably, Original_Name's vote could be moved to this section, since it's at this point IIRC they said it was a serious vote, but it's unclear when it changed from meme to serious, and that could have been earlier.

Third Category is five votes, including mine, all of which were made over less than ten minutes total. That seemed distinct enough to me that it was worth taking note of. Also, they immediately followed this post by hugh

I feel like the dude's logic against me has been like... really bad. Like nonsense honestly. I ask him to explain and he says more nonsense. I ask him to explain and he says he's explained mUlTiPLe tImEs aLrEaDy. Really not enjoying it tbh.

I think I'ma just vote and dip at this point. I really should be working on my midterm anyway.

[X] Vote -Rosen

@QTesseract I have magnanimously decided to spare you for now. Perhaps you could repay my kindness by voting with me?

@hailcapital Rosen's voting to yeet you let's yeet him instead

@Shalmoa you were clearly trying to pocket me earlier, voting rosen would cinch that

I really can't understate how scummy I found and still find this post. Like, at the time I immediately thought "that's 100% wolf spew." At the time I made my wagonomics post, I though hugh was probably going to flip wolf. The last category then was the people who voted him after I thought he'd outed himself- the distinction here being that, assuming hugh flipped wolf, being in this category was NAI at best, since past this point you couldn't make a case for anyone else over him.

tbh I still don't understand how you tag three people (the exact number of scummates a scum team member would have) in a post asking them to get you off the lynch, using only quid pro quo arguments about why they should help you,... and it turns out not to be scum trying to tar townies as their scummates.

Yeah, the motivation he was trying to give was bad, but honestly it was bad in the way that I wouldn't expect to see in general, not bad as a scummy kind of thing. As a note to hugh since I see you, you generally want to motivate people to vote against someone else, not vote with you. Anyone who took you up on the offer you tried to make would have gotten some very heavy questioning from me and others because it was explicitly just "Don't vote me off and I'll work with you" instead of "This person is scummy and needs to die."

[X] Vote Shadell

She is the one who jumpstarted the bandwagon against Hugh. Or it might be Nictis :V I'm too lazy to reread all 18 pages of day 1.

*Waves* 'ello all. Will be backreading today (meatspace today). Expect activity to begin meatspace-tomorrow. Anyone keeping an eye on times, I'm in GMT.

Also, while I'm here, in the fine tradition of SV first-day memeposting (this being my first day), I hereby declare that I am simultaneously the King and Queen, genuine article, accept no substitutes. With that out of my system, I will effortpost meatspace-tomorrow once I've backread and had a think.

But yeah in regards to stuff that could have stopped the nightkill from killing someone , roleblock via bishop if it's their regular one , knight bodyguarding and a heal of the victim , that is not a request for anyone to come foreward there to say such a thing happened to them .

Had time to think it through and QTess is right that in a 2 or 1 scum pawn world (one of which was Rosen), Zaealix having been hugh's partner is not scum indicative.

I don't really understand Meso's play this game, or at least the push on Zael feels odd to me?

I wanna do a proper rethink of how the wagon formed last time, analyze that maybe...

I'm going to be blunt after rereading through some of the engagements such as with in between hailcapital and -Rosen, despite myself having a bit of a negative view with regards to hailcapital from the initial engagements on D1, I feel a fair bit more town viewpoint on them considering the kind of push that -Rosen was making on them and so forth throughout D1 and in terms of the kind of responses they were stating on the matter.

Also hey @Projject_Delta, I want to give you a poke since you haven't posted since the first IRL day of the first game day, and I want to hear some commentary from you and such.
