Bisexuality is still not a commonly known option? How far in the future is this again?

It's probably more about QAylor not even looking in the protag's direction.

Besides, Setsu isn't exactly correct, QA isn't attracted to gender, she's attracted to trauma. It's just traumatized girls are more common in anime than traumatized boys for some reason.

Er. I won't say you're exactly wrong, but QA was primarily motivated by Anna's apparent intelligence, expertise, and status as an exceptionally efficient living weapon. She didn't even know about the trauma when they met.

(And please don't start an argument about the respective rates of trauma in anime. Thanks.)

All according to cake.

Cake means "Keikaku".

Keikaku means "Plan".
I wonder if anyone will make a theory that Rose and Taylor used to be the same person before their faction chopped their brain in half and put one in their own bodies with their brains repaired. I mean it's very much wrong but I could see it as a horrifying theory thrown out there.
I'm going to switch forums to read another story to get that mental image out of my head.

Tomato, tomato. :V

People don't usually become living weapons because they led happy, wholesome lives.

Then again, she's not attracted to Monica, so I guess I see where you're going with this.

Looks like QA is reinforcing the mind control / brainwashing capabilities of the leaders of Hell's Hand with her "some messages need to be delivered regardless of person's willingness to hear". Also, Shapira receives confirmation that QA thinks needing to relax is a flaw that humans should try to excise from themselves ASAP. Or rather, relaxing may be acceptable, but only if it simultaneously comes with self improvement. Edit your brain until you derive enjoyment from self improvement. It occurs to me that Hell's Hand survivors are going to have very interesting notions of what it means to "change someone's mind".

This was an actual option that could have been chosen for Anna's backstory, this also involves her actually succeeding in saving her town.

As for QA's interest in Anna, if I remember correctly, her being a girl is positive because it decrease the likehood of her requesting sex, which is something QA is not interested in in any case.

I wonder if UNOMI has someone assigned to distract taylor whenever she nudges too close to the papers on that.
But why? If QA finds out, what is she going to do, volunteer to be a bully? Or be smug about it? She isn't so dumb to try and replace/copy Antagonists.

In a happy world though. It was a plus option for show tone.

Who needs offspring when you can have Friends anyway?

You know when QA finds out what Shapira did and how she's trying to make her Flight work better/harder, she may just classify Shapira as a "Person".

But that's gay erasure, QA.

... god we are trying to psychoanalyze an alien Shard of planet-sized, reality-warping, dimension-hopping assholes, raised in the closest equivalent to human definition of abusive you can get while not being human at all, you're not paying me enough for this. Considering you're not paying me anything and all.

It was obvious that Anna was an Ace.
AN Ace? No. THE ACE.
it was just Taylor Taylor'ing again.
Taylor's gonna Taylor, like all the Taylors' Taylor'ing across the multiverse's Taylors.
That's a possibility!?
They are not ENTIRELY certain, but best to snip the possibility in the bud as soon as possible, just in case, no?
Setsuna's disappointment instantly overwrote itself with indignation.
So fucking predictable and easy.
Instructor Shapira sent off an apology to Anna and kept firm control of herself until she was well outside the cadets' observation range. She finally let herself slip into laughter in the halls outside. Good grief, new teenage Valkyries were just so predictable!
Yup, that seems exactly what I expected.

"Anna, you and Durga optimized yourselves for combat and have done an excellent job. We will not automatically inherit any perceived personal flaws by emulating your successes.
Also, I put this at the end, because it deserves special notice.
HOLY SHIT QA!? When did you become so fucking SMOOTH!??!?!?!!!!
You just did more for Anna's mental health and psyche, not to mention the confidence to socialize/teach others than everyone else combined has manged. With one line. One, fucking, sentence.
You probably jumped more in Anna's route in that one line than anything but gifting Silver to her has managed. (Which is admittedly not much, Bbbbuuuuttttt, is probably enough to lock out Coke Zero from getting his foot in the door, and as such requiring the 'premature ending to a Cycle'.)

Anna is a human, yet she is arguably as socially incompetent as Taylor, due to her background. Taylor is Taylor. So, basically, the only normal humans here are Setsuna and The Moron, of whom the latter is, surprisingly, a moron, and the former is a violent tsundere who is constantly fantasizing about beating up The Moron, and looking for an excuse to do so.

The two normies were already thinking about leaving the Flight, which would have left Anna and Taylor to collapse into a singularity due to negative social skills, and would have made the normies look very poorly among the other students. Most of them would kill for a chance to be in a Flight with an Ace and an actual crafting magician. Tricking the Flight into staying together, at least for now, profits literally everyone. It provides more time for everyone to get closer. It gives the Instructor the time to actually do something about the relationships, instead of her doing some useless pep talk that most of the group will not understand or remember, and which will be a waste of time when the Flight splits in a few days. It also gives The Normies more time to learn from The Apparent Pros, while exposing The Apparent Pros to the social prowess of Being Sane.
I mean... there is Monica there as well, and it is clear she isn't going anywhere, no matter what anyone else says. While not EXACTLY normal herself, she does UNDERSTAND 'Normal'. Better than that, she UNDERSTANDS PERIOD. She has shown more insight into QA than most others, in the shortest time frame available. She is almost certainly to be a legitimate help to both QA and Anna in regards to getting them closer to an 'acceptable level of socializing'.

"I suppose you would know: you're one of the only Valkyries with one of those," Instructor Shapira dryly replied.

The instructor stood up and stalked off before Koujirou and Setsuna could do more than splutter and stare. Weren't instructors supposed to act more professional than that? She'd alluded to his bits and insulted him at the same time! Okay, so other teenagers said worse all the time, but still!

"Well, screw you too," Koujirou muttered. "Setsu? Let's prove her wrong, okay?"

Setsuna scowled and nodded.
Setsuna: Well it's a bit sudden, but if you're really set on this I'm sure the medical staff is capable of that surgical procedure

WAIT A SECOND!?!?
Why has no Valk Core or their Host 'upgraded' their body to 'fully' functional at 'both' 'tasks'?
It genuinely seems like something that should have come up at some point...

Instructor Shapira's actions definitely fall under "don't try this at home," yes. Another important thing to remember is that—even before Symbie's sensors shenanigans in Africa—QA and Anna were each more valuable to the UN than most other Valkyries and any other Valkyrie, respectively. Ensuring the effective operation of that duo takes priority over the well-being of a couple no-name cadets. The high likelihood of genuinely helping those cadets due to Valkyrie Core quirks? That's a side bonus.
This, basically. But as an addendum: Taylor and Anna's relationship is definitely something the UN wants to cultivate (or just help along); the best way to achieve that is to improve Taylor's social skills and reign her in when she goes too far (socially or otherwise); having Setsuna and Kojirou on their flight will definitely help with that.

And, well, why is that relationship so important? Anna is a genius when it comes to impeller techniques, as well as the best builder there is, and her primary weapons system is so advanced that reverse-engineering even one of its key components would be a major boon to UN forces. Meanwhile, Taylor throws out advanced technology like it's candy, and her words and actions imply that she has more where that came from. And then Taylor and Anna produce major technological gains whenever they collaborate. This makes them force multipliers even when totally off the front lines, because they come up with stuff that will provide strategic and tactical benefits for UN forces as a whole, rather than just for themselves.

Oh yeah, and Taylor--or rather, QA--has shown that she can modify Valk cores directly, a feat previously thought to be impossible, and one with tremendous potential.

Considering the stakes, soft-manipulating two no-name Valkyrie cadets into staying on a flight they might have decided to leave is very much justified, especially since there's a good chance they'd benefit from it too.

Awesome! Another chapter!
"I honestly can't tell if you're all joking around or not and it's freaking me out. C'mon, there's nowhere to hide a magic kingdom."
As these little conversational interludes happen, I also tend to wonder if they're joking around or not. Or if they even know if they're joking around or not. :p
"Some messages must be delivered regardless of whether the recipient wishes to hear them,"
This obviously has nothing to do with the burned out mind control devices scattered around QA's home in Hells Hand. Obviously.
Taylor began walking backward, swerving around other people in the cafeteria without apparent issues.

"Anna and Instructor Shapira are likely the only individuals present to meet their standards. You would just get in the way."
See? She's learning more social things - you're supposed to look at the persons you're speaking to! Isn't she considerate? That aside, this isn't the first time that QA has just up and left in the middle of something. Before, we've seen it from QA's perspective where she's left because she's simply bored with the situation, or scared about : MOTHER : or... I wonder if her leaving this time is a simple as she's making it out to be. It could be, but...
