You know, I personally feel that his research is going to point out a few critical clues that he has already noticed as most of the reason for why his advancement was the way it was and just WHY the size of his internal reserve is like a massive hydrosphere rather than the expected Qi sea. The size and likely ease for each order depends on the foundation as the most critical thing and while you can substitute raw power for skill/hard work, well, he already knows one of the critical aspects from the data he has ripped out.
Doing it the proper and stable way likely takes time and effort and most cultivation methods are slapdash and crude things that ignore stability because it will take too long and so each advancement requires a lot of power to do the repairs and upgrades and likely does an inferior job, and with some of the bottlenecks being critical areas that need more power because of the extensive changes. And because most cultivation methods only measure in how long it would take instead of how effective it would be in the long term....
Essentially, if you would not mind the comparison, most cultivation methods use jenga blocks and increasing amounts of duct tape, glue and braces with bits of actual construction material being thrown in occasionally and then having a fluid/compressed gas pumped into the structure and hoping it holds even as you keep jamming more things in and layering more duct tape to hold it together.
Adam on the other hand uses proper and actually effective materials and gear to make his system that is made to purpose and for resiliency. Sure, it does not have all the extra bits to make it all fancy... but while the other one stalls and randomly explodes/bursts/turns into an element, his will raise the metaphorical eyebrow and keep on going because it was made to last.
Also, regarding some things from the last entry as well, and coming over to this one... Adam is pretty much an Old Testament style angel. For do they not say 'Do not be afraid!' Angels are eldritch. Angels are commonly seen as good (even if they have a higher level of understanding that might not mesh up with our perspective) and angels are most importantly, messengers and soldiers of the divine.
For the hand of Righteousness has been raised, and unto the righteous and just it holds healing and life, a support for their labors and a balm for their souls. Unto the wicked and cruel it holds the sword Judgement, to render unto them the fate they have earned and sown.
