Wait. We can vote for all of these, all at once?
It's more like, by my interpretation, they're all different facets of the same option, which is to go back to that location while holding a conversation, and also stopping by the adjacent location to make sure nothing has covered it in corpses. Voting for all of them in that combination gives the author more stuff to fill the next post with, so they should have an easier time with it, hopefully, and also gives us more content; and with more content, we open up more options, which gives us more stuff to fill out our votes with.

You saw nothing.
Anyway, we beat Vordt. He certainly put up quite a fight - more so than I remember him doing in game.
Vordt's fight was always a bit of a disappointment for me. He has a really cool design with a human/god/humanoid corrupted into the form of what is basically a glorified armored dog. His intro cutscene is also great (just stomping out and roaring loud enough to make your ears ring)
Then you actually fight him, and he dies in like 10 hits.
Meeting Sulyvahn in person should be fun.
I look forward to Sulyvahn too. He's going to be a fun character to write.

Poor Vordt... huh, are we somehow aware of the flavor blurbs on his Soul? It seems like almost something one could do, holding the leftover's of a Being's Soul and just... kind of knowing them at least a little.
Maybe you could ask someone about that.
I'm... kind of wondering what we might get from Vordt if we really did end up reminding him of his Dancer at the end there. I seem to remember the Dancer also suspected to be a daughter of one of the Goddesses or something too? Hmm...
The Dancer was a descendant of the Royalty of Irithyll. Basically she's descended from one of the various Gwyns, almost definitely Guinevere since she's the only one that seemed to have had children.
Its almost too bad the Spear isn't more obviously a recreation of Kyouko's, so we could ask about it and her.
That certainly is peculiar, isn't it.

He doesn't need to say a word to be ridiculously menacing, because he's a JoJo character; the kanji for menacing just kind of start appearing around him whenever he poses. The proof of this is in the manifestation of his Stand.

If we don't call him out on that I'm going to be disappointed.

[X] Go and free Greirat first. You did promise after all.
-[X] Whatever happened with that Darkwraith...

Don't think we have to ask about the "clump", we already got the soul talk back in Firelink iirc

Guys we already know that the clump is Vordt's soul
You know the basics, although it could be hand-waived into being you understand it entirely if you'd rather keep it simple. I was just tossing it in as an option.

I have until Irithyll to stop putting off watching JoJo. I keep saying I'll do it later, but I'm scared of going down the rabbit hole, even if there isa pile of gold at the end of it all.
The gold is of course posing, but that's irrelevant.

Edit: Added this bit.

I mean, the OG plan was: "Get to the battle quickly, heal everyone, the dogpile the dog." Might as well help out the only guy who didn't bone out as soon as the middle schooler in the fancy dress showed up. I am still kinda pissed that they all just biggity bounced as soon as we arrived.

The knight is sent flying through the air, before impacting against the stone walls with a sickening crunch and crashing down to the ground in an unceremonious heap. He struggles to raise his arm, but fails, and his body falls slack quickly after.
Oof, yeah, I forgot about him. Poor guy.

Maybe he wasn't undead, but if he is and he didn't turn to ash he might still be hanging on by a thread.

You're telling me. There was going to be a lot more to trying to get Hawkwood to get over his unwillingness to so much as try.
And then you guys just fucking crit on a guilt trip.
Probably not going to be "Hawkwood is now happy to keep going" but definitely going to be easier than it would have been.

Most of them didn't even notice you, they were too busy trying to get away from the giant armored death machine whose screams could leave someone deafened.
The ones that did notice though? Yeah, completely understandable.

Quick update: Post will be coming this weekend.

I've been getting bogged down by my lack of ability to schedule my time effectively, so sorry for the delay. Code Vein having just released didn't help. (Which is... alright. It's rather easy, a bit clunky at times, and the sheer amount of anime in it is kind of painful, but holy fuck the co-op is actually functional for once. Shame you can only summon one person at a time.)

High Wall of Lothric 21: Tying Up Loose Ends
(Knight's Status: 19/100)
"Hey, uh... Hawkwood?" You call out sheepishly. It's a bit hard to go back to being friendly after having an argument like that...

"Hm?"

"Did you see a body anywhere?" You ask. "There was a knight who was still fighting Vordt earlier, even after all the others ran away. Just wanted to see if they made it through the fight or not."

"Damn, really? Must've been one tough bastard if they didn't give up. Either that or an idiot."

You narrow your eyes at him, but don't rise to the bait. "Could you just help me look?" you ask.

"Fine, fine." Hawkwood says as he stands up.

A few minutes of looking, along with checking the many newly formed craters leaves you unable to find any sign of a body. You do stumble across a few weapons, such as a hammer with a shattered head (which turns out to be a glorified metal stick), several cracked maces, and two swords with their blades snapped off.

Where you remember the Knight originally landing, however, you find the sword you remember him using, fully intact. The sword's blade is notably long, approaching the length of Hawkwood's own weapon, albeit with nowhere near as much weight.

"I couldn't find anything besides scrap metal." Hawkwood calls out to you as he returns from his own search of the ad hoc arena. He notices the sword in your hands, eyeing it carefully for a moment, before he turns back to you. "You're not thinking of trying to give that back, are you?"

"Maybe?" You reply, with a shrug. Hawkwood groans.

"Of bloody course you are. Look, just take the damn thing. I'm sure the Lothric armories have plenty to spare regardless." Hawkwood says.

"But why take even take it?" You ask. "It's not like I'm in need of a weapon."

"I've seen you with a sword, and if that sword is like any of the others being carried around, it's a damn good sword." Hawkwood says. "If you really want to keep going on this fool's errand, we'll need all the help we can get."

[] Take the sword...
-[] Try and find the Knight and return it to them. Sure you've taken things before, but that was out of desperation. Taking something from someone who could still use it doesn't sit well with you.
-[] ...and keep it for yourself. Not like it's the first thing you've taken, anyhow. Maybe you can find a use for all of these swords you seem to be stumbling on to?
[] Just leave it where it is. The Knight will probably just come grab it themself, and it'll save you the effort of having to go out and find them. Provided they haven't hollowed, of course...

As the two of you begin the trek back to Greirat's cell, despite Hawkwood's unsaid objections to freeing a criminal, you take a moment to examine that weird clump that flew towards you after your fight with Vordt. You can tell it's similar to one of those clumps of souls you've found scattered around, you're not stupid, but you aren't sure why it's so different.

The soul is cold to the touch as it rests on your hand, the bits of blue and black popping in and out as what little of the gold that remains struggles to shimmer.

"So what's up with this?" You ask, as you pass the fountain where that strange knight had been patroling. It seems he's not here at the moment, and you have no real desire to try and find him at the moment.

Hawkwood turns his head, curious. "Ah, did that come from Vordt? That would be his soul."

You blink, examining the soul closer. It doesn't feel anything like a Soul Gem, that much is clear.

"So is this... Vordt?" You ask, careful to avoid the numerous bits of shattered and broken metal that litter the ground from all the discarded armor.

"Kind of?" Hawkwood replies with a shrug. "I imagine there could've been debate on that, or some such, but I never was interested in semantics."

As you continue on, you both seem to fall quiet, as Hawkwood seems to be focused on triple checking that nothing has moved in to the now cleared out route through the High Wall. It's then that a thought comes to you. Ever since you first came here, there's been something that felt off about Lothric. Now you finally realize what it is: the quiet. You weren't like Madoka who got to live in the suburbs; you lived in the middle of Mitakihara, and if there is anything that defines life in the city, it's the noise. The cars constantly driving and stopping in traffic as they honk ineffectively. The chatter of passersby as their footfalls tap against the concrete beneath. The rumble of the subway beneath the street as it carried people where they needed to go. Back home, there was a feeling of life and energy that felt like a physical force, caused by hundreds of thousands of people going about living their lives, shoved together into a small area. There's none of that in Lothric.

It's an urban area, sure, but it's too quiet, with little sound beyond the faint groaning of Hollows and the echo of your own footsteps against stone. Or against ladders, you note as you pull yourself up to therooftops. Sure, there are no cars or anything advanced like that, but those aren't what matters. There's no presence of life here. If anything is present, it's the feeling of death and decay, of a slow wasting away until all that's left are skin and bones that can no longer resist.

Finally, you make it back to the tower that you left oh so long ago. Well, it was yesterday, but it feels like it's been so much longer for some reason. A few floors down, and you carefully approach the doorway that lead down to the Darkwraith.

(The Wrath of the Darkwraith: 91/100)

...Only to find the elevator undisturbed. Huh.

"I'm almost disappointed, to be honest." Hawkwood says.

"Maybe there isn't anything down there after all." You say hopefully.

"Maybe, but better to play it safe and just move on." Hawkwood replies.

As you head towards Greirat's cell, you fish through your pocket for the key that Emma had given you.

"Ah, it's you two!" Greirat calls when you walk into view. "Thank the Gods, you know how comfortable this cell is to sleep in?"

"Found that key you needed." You say, holding it up to him.

"I won't even ask how you got it, just please get me out of here already." Greirat asks, a hint of desperation in his voice.

Well, you did promise.

You insert the key, and a quick turn has the cell doors swing open without any resistance. Greirat slowly takes a step out, one foot at a time. After a moment of simply standing outside, being free, he turns to you.

"Thank you so much, I was worried I'd never get out of this damn cell." Greirat says, relief filling his voice. "Once again, I am Greirat of the Undead Settlement, and I promise to assist you in whatever way I can. Do your part, and I'll do mine, eh?"

As he says that, Greirat suddenly fades away, startling both you and Hawkwood.

There's a moment of silence as you both stare at the now empty jail cell.

"Did he just... Wait, couldn't he of done that earlier?" You ask nobody in particular.

"Don't question it Sayaka, just accept it and move on." Hawkwood says with a sigh.

"I'm way ahead of you there."

[] Go back to the Shrine and...
-[] Speak to the Firekeeper. Didn't she say she could do something with souls?
-[] Visit Andre. You have a lot of swords on you, maybe he'll enjoy having a look.
-[] Browse the Handmaid's wares. Avoid making direct eye contact while doing so.
-[] Maybe Greirat is here now? Go and check, you have questions you need to ask him.
-[] Write in
[] There may be stuff down in the Darkwraith's cell. Maybe it'll be useful stuff? Only one way to find out.
[] Keep the ball rolling and head to the Undead Settlement. You can handle it. You just have to hold a sign up, you think.
[] You know, there was that ladder in the Cathedral...

Lothric Knight Sword
A well-crafted straight sword designed for thrusting attacks, wielded by one of many unknown Knights of Lothric.

Many decried the final selections for the Four Knights of Lothric, as they seemed to favor loyalty over any knightly quality such as honor or strength. Some even viewed it as an insult to the legend the group was inspired by. Ultimately, the Four became known more for their service to the High Priestess, rather than any true knightly valor.

Skill: Rendal's Thrust
Channel the legends of the Knight-King, and target a specific part of an enemy's body in an attempt to cripple them. (2 FP)

Unlike Hawkwood I am very much disappointed with the 91 on the Darkwraith roll.
Just like how I'm disappointed with myself for posting past midnight again.
But that's just life I guess.

I'll be honest, I thought that 91 meant the Darkwraith escaped and was going to successfully ambush them.

Still missing stuff (?)
How did I miss so many errors. ;_;
Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it then I'm off to sleep.
Edit: It is fixed. If there are more errors I shall commit sudoku.

The dice in the quest work with high being good for you, and low being bad for you. Except for boss fights, where the bosses also get to roll. So getting a high roll here meant a positive outcome.

Are we able to re-lock the door to the darkwraith elevator? Either way unless we decide to make a habit of invading there's no need for us to kill it now
