Damn. Pennsy is cold blooded.
"My sister outran you."
Straight for the throat.
Pennsylvania is a Standard. They are neither fancy nor subtle in how they destroy a target.

To be fair, that's a normal reaction to at least half of what the more rambunctious destroyers do.This was a great update, and I'm glad we get to see Pennsylvania dealing with some of her growing edges. This section just has me imagining her developing an eye twitch or muscle tic that appears in response to this kind of thing.
*some point in the future*As she deals with the Japanese girls more often I'm sure she will improve slowly. But only after a few destroyers, subs, cruisers, and maybe a battleship or two have received a lake baptizing....
Oh. Ow. Right in the copyright! XDI just realized... would this make such a Pennsy the Dairy Queen?
Well, she-Damn. Pennsy is cold blooded.

Straight for the throat.
She's this. XDPennsylvania is a Standard. They are neither fancy nor subtle in how they destroy a target.
Someone really should put a picture of one on the TV Tropes Mighty Glacier page.A Standard is many things. A warship. A symbol. But above all else. A Standard is inevitable.

"Wasn't the intention, speedboat. You were asking for a reaming after all." Kawakaze thumbed over in Pennsylvania's direction with a toothy grin and mischief painted all over her person. A sharp shift in demeanor considering she'd been visibly unnerved by the battleship's attention not moments earlier. "Taunting the world's angriest battleship? Who do you think you are? A Taffy?"
I just realized... would this make such a Pennsy the Dairy Queen?
And for once she'll know what's it's like to be a fast battleship. But if Ari gets carried away with her new found mobility and there's any sort of wall nearby, she'll also know what it's like to be the Kool Aid Man.I don't know how they'd do it or where they'd find skates sturdy enough to hold her up, but I wouldn't put it past Jane or Shimakaze to Celebrate Ari-mama coming out from her refit; by roping her into going roller skating with them.
Another thing to add to the list...And for once she'll know what's it's like to be a fast battleship. But if Ari gets carried away with her new found mobility and there's any sort of wall nearby, she'll also know what it's like to be the Kool Aid Man.

"Isn't it usually the other way around, ma'am?"
That's pretty cool. Nicely done!
Though Hiei wouldn't have made it look like an accident. Dohoho~Maybe Mutsu's there and gives a witty, maybe snarky remark about Ari "Learning from Hiei's example on being forward with your feelings" or something along those lines D
Since Ari developed a sense of humor I would wager. XD
If 'bully=tease mercilessly', then yes. If 'bully=harass', no.Really though, is bullying a Standard, any Standard, truly a good idea?
That depends of what your standard for a "good idea" isReally though, is bullying a Standard, any Standard, truly a good idea?
But just imagine Jersey finding a pair of Roller Skates that doesn't break under her feet. It'd be a Perfect chance to show off the strength of her legs... and maybe Race a sports Car on land.
Bonus points if the Tank is Army and the Army has to get her unstuck.
Mutsu, Ari, and all of them tease each other in good humor. If 'bully=tease mercilessly', then yes. If 'bully=harass', no.
There's a horrible pun in there. XD
I was really slow to get that pun...
Though Ari needs a lot more practice. She's not very skilled at it yet.
I just realized something about the theory about Jane's mom being Langley CV-1. If that is the case, Jane would be Langley CVL-27, not a shipyard Installation.
Ah, but Mutsu is not one to rest on her laurels~SecNav help us when the day comes when she's as skilled as Mutsu.
And I fear, that day might not be long away, if Ari practices her teasing like how she did gunnery drills!
Deploy the van, but just have it drive by, keep him guessing.
