Mo can't self summon, she's not 100 years old yet.
jersey came back, and she wasnt a hundred years old. having two Iowa's would be a huge boon in terms of fire power. and the bitch fest between Jersey and Missouri would scare even Musashi.
but yeah. Pearl needs a miracle here. and Missouri could be that miracle. or even Enterprise. we need a gods be damned miracle here.

see I don't think Pearl will fall given how quickly Bismarck would lose Hawaii even if she wins (like inside of two weeks if Jersey and Co feel generious) there really isn't any point to loosing Pearl in the first place.

In another life, they'd be apex predators of the sea. Now, all but the slowest abyssal forces slipped through their fingers like smoke.
Booo! :p
The Silent Service sank 20x times the tonnage the BBs did. (The postwar Joint Army-Navy Assessment Committee found 2,117 Japanese merchant ships lost with a total tonnage of 7,913,858 long tons and 611 IJN ships lost with a total tonnage of 1,822,210 long tons.) WWII USN fleet boats damn near won the war all by themselves. They should still be kicking ass in legion.

At the least, they were 3x the size of U-boats and a hell of a lot meaner. They were the gold standard of subs in WWII. So the leveling effect should still keep them dangerous. ...unless the leveling effect is stuck in 1942 and gimps their torps like early Mk14s.

I know this is BelaBatt, but some love for the little subthieves too. :p

where do you think several important repair parts have gone? there is a whole sub fleet department running around unseen, unheard trying to fight the abyssals where they can

Killing Merchies that plod along at 8 knots is different from killing warships screaming by at 20.

Yeah, the battlewagons is a bigger, noisier target. Perfect for an acoustic homing torps like the FALKE, Mark 19, and Mark 48 ADCAP.

If the acoustic homing torpedoes didn't so often prove homeless, that would work out rather well, I imagine.

Nuclear attack subs firing modern guided torpedoes are presumably working about as well against Abyssals as WWII subs firing normal, generally unguided torpedoes. The most sophisticated bleeding-edge torpedoes in the world would work about as well as the bleeding-edge guided torpedoes of WWII.

I figure we've maybe got one good wolfpack ambush worth of submarine action against the Abyssal task force, and it might just take a piece out of them, but that's not going to be enough.

Pearl will need a lot of things to survive this, but if a couple of subgirls like Tang and Wahoo showed up, it couldn't hurt. Especially if their fairy crews included aggressive skippers like Dick O'Kane and Mush Morton. Of course, a half dozen Essex class might be better....

My god... Those bigger BBs... They're the H-Class Battleship proposals aren't they?

If Mo goes down... I can only hope she takes more than half of those Abyssal Bastards down with her. Especially the BIG ones....

I'm hopin they can drive those monsters back... but... I already have a leaden feeling of what'll happen. I can only hope Mo makes it a very costly Pyrrhic Victory, if the bastards win at all. That way, Jersey and Co have a chance of finishin the bastards off. Those H-classes... That kind of firepower ain't nothing to laugh at.

Maybe not, but on the other hand, the German battleships' gunsights and detail design may well be a bit... overrated. I wouldn't be surprised to see Missouri perform rather better than might be expected by a superficial look at the weight of metal involved.

Archie: Of course it's something to laugh at. BBs can't do shit to us subs. Gimme good torps and I'll send 'em all to the bottom!

That would leave just Iowa and she's drydocked.

They can if you can't submerge.

Given that it can only be H-39's AKA German Nagato's they kind of are for most of the main cast.

Even if its only H-39 designs. That's still 16-inch guns Mo is gonna have to face. It ain't gunna be pretty if she gets a bad hit from one of those. And if the fighting got close... She'll have to worry about Torpedo's too..

Look, realistically thanks to soft factors such as GFCS and the absurd goodness that is the Mark 8, the only way a German-based taskforce can "win" against Mo is ton run her out of ammo.

But spooky Abyssal bullshit, so we all know What's gonna happen.

america had radar tied in with her battleships range finders. they could get a pinpoint lock on any ship with her radar range. Missouri can get a faster lock then any other battleship using just range finders. missouri will make the enemy earn their kills today.

Actually despite what my earlier typing may have suggested, I have a high-ish hope Mo will win this fight. Now whether or not if she's still gonna be in fighting condition afterwards is a very different question. My bet is, she'll be in technical fighting shape, but its iffy.

My Biggest fear is a U-boat getting a wounded Mo after she's dealt with or driven off the surface threat. We still don't know if that Abyssal bearing the number 511 has been sunk yet. (if so great. If not... boy it'd be a very bad time for her to show her ugly mug again.)

Edit: Who knows maybe the battle could cause Mama Utah to appear and help Mo drive the Bastards back or send em to the bottom. I mean... if things look bad and all the people still on the Island ask/pray for a savior she'll be the one to answer the call ... totally not just me wanting to see battleship momboat come back to kick ass and protect her daughter

Mo is also completely outnumbered here. An Iowa verses a Bismarck in a one on one fight? Iowa would win easily. One Iowa verses Bismarck,Tirpitz, and two H-class battleships? Odds arn't in Mo's favour.
