The reason barbecued meat tastes as good as it does is the time the cooking process takes.

Okay, for Southern cooked hog? That's heresy.

You need to cook it low and slow. Do it right or not at all!

<Takes note of Jersey cramming waffles down her bottomless maw>
"See that? She's not even bothering to chew, much less taste. It might be heresy, but given the choice of properly prepared Southern BBQ, or 55,000 tons of hungry shipgirl, I'll err on the side of 'GET IN MA BELLY'."

Inb4 Jersey gives you a detailed report on the taste, texture, consistency, and what ever food critics grade food on about the waffles to you.

<gives Jersey's Quartermaster Fairy a hard look>
"No, it doesn't count if you give a detailed summary after she's filled her bunkers..."
<embarrassed and sullen> "Heeeeyyy..."

Might as well just give her raw pork at this rate...

*Cue grumbling Illinois trying to enjoy her breakfast, shaking her head at Big Sis*

.....There are trees and bushes? There's grass. That's about it. Oklahoma, Texas, and Eastern new Mexico are pretty bare.

I drive through every state in the US fairly regularly. While there are lots of states with huge areas of farms and plains, every state has forested areas with grass and bushes.

Wild pigs do not live on open plains if they have any other option. They will cross open land, or visit it to feed, but they are almost never very far from bushes and trees they can use for shelter.

It's part of why hog populations are such a pain to control, and why there is no bag limit for feral hogs.

I think we're derailing the topic guys. We should get back to botefus and shipwaifus.

Anyways, more cutes and smol!'Laska is good.

I can't shake the feeling that Albacore will teach Mr Hunter how to subthieve... or maybe Hunter teaches Albie how to Modern Subthieve... That's terrifying, a nuke boat sonar man teaching a diesel boat girl how to defeat modern Surveillance and detection equipment so she can better subthieve. CCTV? Might as well be non-existent. Motion sensor? What motion sensor? Its reading nothing. The old mirror on the wall/corner trick will still work, but that can be gotten around by figuring out the blind spots. and Subs are very good at finding and exploiting blind spots.

. . .
DON'T INSPIRE THEM, DAMNIT!

And now they'll achieve the rank of Master, it's a natural progression.
Remy LeBeau would take them up on that challange to be "master" thieves. they may steal anything not nailed dowm, but is it of vital mission importance? the girls need to be taught the difference of "ohhh, shiney" to "reapropriation of this generator to have morning coffee ready for the Chiefs and first classes." The Shiney stuff is good and all, but can it be traded to get some better supplies for the crew, like fresh eggs, or soda, or maybe some important documents. otherwise, girls, ypur thievery is substandard at best.

Note of Interest (seeing as how she's a character in this fic): RV Petrel located Shimakaze's wreck in Ormoc Bay on 1 December 2017. Pics are available on their Facebook page.
