There there...

Pretty sure he meant American Fleet Carrier.

This.

It took much searching, but Shiranui is probably the most notable one. I very much wish I could find a full list of the 71 ships Enterprise sunk, but that doesn't appear to exist online.

Nui-Nui? Perfect! She can be the cool-big-sis for Gambier Bay whose all icy in public but in private is subtly doting. My inner-cute-reactor is already squeeing at the thought.

I dunno. Hyuuga's a lousy-ass carrier, but at least she's a kinda-sorta-okay battleship.
Hmm... True. The fandom tends to poke fun at her and depict her desperately trying to make her carrier side useful. At least what I've seen that isn't her embracing the BB and wrecking what face she can.

Nui Nui is adorable and needs hugs.

Why do people keep thinking Yamaprise is a thing? Neither of them exist in BelaBatt then again... I said that for Mushi, didn't I...

Considering how honest you can be relied on to be in these comments, that means that both Yamato and Enterprise have been summoned since even before Jersey and for some reason have been sent to some secret, romantic rendezvous to celebrate their marriage and they will both appear, Gandalf-like exactly when needed.

Maybe the Admirals of Japan and the US are just soppy romantics that way.:p

I say let her do what she can do. If shit gets seriously desperate, Ooichi proved that it's possible to go pro-wrestler on Abyssals if you're motivated enough.:D

Yeah... If those two were any more codependent they'd be conjoined twins. Still they're kind of sweet, as long as Ooichi doesn't talk to anyone except Kitakami, ever.

EDIT: I also really like the torpedo death blossom they do at the end there.

I'm kinda fond of Ooi as portrayed in the pool Kitakami and the Annoying Destroyers, where she finds the fact that destroyers are inexplicably drawn to Kitakami, trying to play or hang out with her, charmingly (or amusingly) endearing instead of threatening. It's toward everyone of a higher class that she's yandereish.

Heh, now I can't help but imagine that Kitakami is the place Tenryuu dumps DesDiv6 for babysitting when she has to go out without them to Kitakami's eternal annoyance and Ooi's delight*.

*It lets her pretend to be KTKM-sama's wife.

Richardson: I now pronounce you Fleet Carrier and Super Battleship. You may now kiss the flagship.

Williams: *drinking heavily*
Goto: *raises eyebrow*

No one will let them fight but unlike the anime (for Yamato), Enterprise is in the same boat and decided to help her japanese counterpart chillax till the idiots in Washington change their minds.

The funny/scary thing is that, if you go by the anime, other than in class, DesDiv6 is allowed to wander around and do whatever they want when they don't have training or an op.

Just think about that.

It's not really my ship, at least not in this story. At the very least we have no real idea what Enterprise is like for BelBatt.

Didn't the OP say at some point that Big E won't show up in this story because she would steal all of the bitches spotlight?

Most likely because so many would go all fangirl over her for some reason. Honestly, I have much respect for Enterprise and her accomplishments, she is a ship who has earned her legendary status.

At the same time, I don't give a fuck. I want more ships with big guns, not airplanes.

People were trying to reenlist, call in favors, find the right guy to blow or whatever to get a berth on the Iowas when they were recommissioned in the 80's. Because battleships are awesome no matter what technology or warfighting doctrine says.

Carriers are great and all, but this man will take cannons and armor any day.

Enterprise is neat. I'd rather have any/all of the battleships.

Actually, I said I probably wouldn't be bringing in E (or any other fleet carrier, for that matter) because I don't want to overshadow the battleships. I like giving Jersey and her friends another chance at the limelight, they never really got to own the waves like they were meant to. If I brought in E, she'd just steal the stage.

Because c'mon... it's Enterprise. The carrier. The carrier of carriers, the one against whom all others are measured. The carrier that stood alone against the might of the Imperial Japanese Navy and held her ground. I don't think I could even write the awesomeness she'd get up to, much less give Jersey and the girls anything to do to even remotely keep up.

And if I eventually do decide to bring Enterprise in, she's not gonna be like GG!E. Greatest Generation's a good fic, and his characters are good in and of themselves, but I like putting my own spin on things. GG!E just doesn't do anything for me, I'd take a different approach.

Speaking of ships that just don't do it for me, I've never been a fan of good ol hoteru-chan. All the fanworks I've seen of her have left a solidly 'meh' reaction. The whole Yamato-Nanodesko thing is interesting, but I'm not sure how much mileage I can get outta her.

I already have Wash to play the sweet lady to Jersey's hard-talking brawler, and if I really want an even more ladylike battleship, I'd probably just summon another American boat.

You! I like you. Basically this.

Carriers are cool as far as they go, but they don't have the same... essence as a huge battleship. They lack the ability to say "See this forty-mile bubble of ocean? This is mine. This is my ocean. You can't exist here unless I let you. Oh, what's that you say? You want to exist anyway? Well... just go ahead and try."
>Sailed into Nagasaki Harbor after we turned the city into a smoldering, radioactive crater

Oh. That poor girl. On top of all of those wounded she took care of…
Somehow, I doubt she'd care about the whole "Divine Light" thing.

I'll admit that I had to resist the temptation to bring in Sara instead of Tiger, but that's entirely because Saratoga is my favorite ship, bar none.

That said, if I brought any other girls in omakes (discounting the obvious fact that I need to show Australian girls in the Tiger omakes), it'd likely be Utah or Seydlitz once the Germans become a thing- if they do become a thing.

EDIT: And that's because Utah has the 'forgotten ship' thing going for her, and Seydlitz is my second favorite ship.

o_O I... respectfully but energetically disagree. Taranto, Pearl, Force Z, and Ten-Go. What do all of these have in common? Battleships getting killed from carriers their crews never laid eyes upon. 40 miles is nothing to a carrier air group. Force Projection is the realm of the Carrier for a damn good reason. Carriers not getting involved because they'd steal the spot light? That's your prerogative as an author, and I do agree with it. But don't go and misrepresent the utter domination carriers have over battleships.

Force projection is the role of a carrier's airgroup, and with that airgroup they utterly dominate battleships.

But Battleships are cool in and of themselves. Plus, they're kinda harder to remove, even if you're at point- blank range.

I have a friend who was going to enlist in one of the services in '88. He was talking to the Navy recruiter, and was this close to signing the contract, but for one thing--the recruiter wasn't able to guarantee him that he'd be posted on one of the Iowas "because they might not be around much longer".

And thus he ended up joining the Air Force, instead.
