Wait wait...why is BelaBatt on hiatus?...What is Strike Witches and why does JMPer prefer SWQ??...whatever that is.

Strike Witches is an anime/manga where these assholes called the Neuroi invade Earth with the usual intent of killing mankind. Man's best hope are a bunch of teenage girls (based off of Real Life ace pilots) with magical powers and a disdain for the wonderful thing called "pants" (or at least a decent skirt). Their abilities allow them to use these things called "Striker Units" which are esentially the fuelsalages of WWII aircraft (note: the series takes place in the 1940s) strapped to their legs and allow them to fly around and shoot Neuroi, whose advanced tech gimps conventional military forces, who die by the hundreds, unremembered while a single Witch gets all the glory. Did I mention they hate pants?

Remember how Bisko, Graf, Prinz, Z1 and Z3 abhor pants? (And in Prinz's case have a tiny akirt.) Shimada Fumikane, the character designer, is the man behind Strike Witches as a franchise*. Character design, stoey, planning.

*Now since renamed to World Witchea or something like that, since Strike Witches steictly speaking is the 501st Joint Fighter Wing. Brave Witches follows the 596th Joint Fighter Wing.


In all fairn ss there are some witches with skirts, like Sanya and Marseille.

The author watched a terrible anime, Strike Witches. The /tg/ adaptation, Strike Witches Quest, fixed alot of the issues with the show.
The anime was so bad it killed all of the author's muse and willingness to write.
 
SWQ fixed most of the problems with the show by making conventional military forces relevant, having Arizona save Hiei and Kirishima from Martians (instead of the Neuroi, who are complete bullshit) (also, TL;DR- IJN went to do Pearl Harbor and then ayys attacked and they were like "Fuck it. We're bailing the American Fleet out"), and the quest is just funny.

Ok.....i'm taking that it's bad.....really, really bad. Allright one last thing, what are the reason(s) for the the show being so terrible?

I would ask what would happen should i watch the show or if i should even take a look at it....but given that our resident Murica man JMper is down. I don't want to know.

The only effective defence against giant aliens capable of destroying chunks of continents are young women with animal ears/tails who fly using magical pieces of planes and are based on famous fighter aces.

Oh, and they don't wear pants so it's all panty shots all the time.

God forbid you watch it. Unless you want to drink lots of bleach afterwards, go ahead. Also, a similar anime to be wary of is Infinite Stratos. *shudder*

Not exactly, i read BelBat not because i like it as a whole (there are things that i disagree about in this story), but because i wish to learn how a fic is done and learn about cool naval things (i'm army through and through) and see how shipgirls are depicted from a fanfic writer's perspective (BelBat is one of several KC fanfics that i watch). Though i will not deny that BelBat can be quite entertaining.

I watched this pile of shit during my first 2 years of being introduced to anime. I wanted to burn Ichika alive, preferably after his torture by Gregor Clegane, and for the whole show to be put to the torch.

You assume Gregor Clegane is good enough? All he ever did was torch his brother's face off. Get a Bolton, better bang for your buck.
 
Strike Witches is one of those animes that falls under "awesome concept, poor execution."

Joke or not (though i am blurred out by the whole "actual hiatus post" thing), i wouldn't blame him if he took a hiatus due to watching bad anime, i know i did after i watched Infinite Stratos. As an aside, i shall watch Strike Witches as soon as i get out of this accursed jungle, and i shall see with my eyes the truth.

After all, how bad can it possible get??....right?
