Modern cars, as a rule, are easier to drive than older ones. The one thing that might, depending on how she feels about the issue, annoy her/cause difficulties is if the car has an automatic and she's used to driving standard/manual.
Speaking as someone who dailies a manual(and drives a lot), the first thirty minutes or so of me driving an auto is always disorienting. Mostly because I keep going for the clutch. And that big, fat brake pedal is usually just big enough to intrude on the clutch space.

Granted, that's most likely to happen when I'm at a stoplight, so it's a lot less dangerous than it sounds. But it's pretty weird having the car shifting for you if you spend over an hour every day(minimum) rowing your own gears.
 
Note that the worst driver in terms of horrendous judgement I've ever known is my tante in Korbach. Back in the 80's she was driving us to my other tante's house when we were visiting Germany and missed her exit on the autobahn, so she decided that the single most logical thing to do was to go into reverse and back up... on the autobahn...

Oh hells yes, automatics are hell to drive once you're used to a manual. Every single time I get behind the wheel of an auto I stomp for the clutch and miss.

I'm certain the wedding will be the most adorable and cutest thing ever! (It could only possibly be seconded or likely tied by Saratoga and SkyDaniel 's eventual Marriage) :drevil:

Though I do have my worries about Sara's first sortie, she'll be greener than Ari was on her's! I think... I just pray Sara's first sortie goes a lot more smoothly than Ari's did... Though then again she's got plenty of friends with her to teach her how to gunboat and to back her up so there's that.

That bit with Musashi though... I'm getting some serious foreshadowing vibes here, like something's bad is gonna happen on the next convoy. Sure Musashi's presence means small fry prolly won't dare get anywhere near her on their own. But the proverbial question is what happens if something big and nasty with 16 inch guns and lots of backup decides to challenge the Superbattleship...Like Tosa.

Last I remembered Evil Battlship Kaga Tosa is still out there. And if, or rather when she shows up again... Hopefully there's a Superbattleship or two ready to send her to the bottom. Because if there isn't... things could get bad, fast.

Especially if Tosa is the leading ship of a possible Abyssal counterattack on Woody Island.

Which makes me wonder if there's any shipgirls stationed there currently or at least close enough to there to show up in time to hopefully counter an Abyssal attack on the Island. I think Ari and Pennsy are still over there but I'm not exactly sure of that yet at this time of posting. Nor am I sure if there's anyone else besides possibly those two over there as well.

I could go on about my theories of the natural of the Abyss and how ,among other things, the conflict we see current isn't the first time such a thing like this has happened but rather its been perhaps >500 years since the last time, . But I feel that more looking into chapters of the story (and Mythology) is required before I come forward with those Thoughts.

Fair enough, but in such a situation, it could be also possible that Tosa's real goal isn't to necessarily sink Musashi or hell even cripple her. But instead Merely keep her occupied long enough for something else to get past Musashi and hit the Convoy itself. Winning the fight itself 9 times out of 10 is meaningless if one or more of the freighter ships gets sent to the bottom in the process. So Musashi would probably have to split her fire between Tosa and whatever is attempting to make a go at the Convoy itself, that is if the rest of the escorts are being tied up by other enemy surface ships as well.

Because Musashi's fire could be possibly split between two different targets, the pressure on Tosa would be less than if all of Musashi's guns were focused on her. Which could give Tosa opportunity to make more hits on Musashi, which would increase the chances of something getting knocked out or damaged. More so if Musashi completely changes her fire to focus on whatever it was that managed to get through the screen and attempts to make a go on the transports.

Then of course there is the possibility of an enemy Submarine attack that's in conjunction with the Surface attack led by Tosa. Which would either make an attack on the Transport ships, or on Musashi (Or other high value targets like White Plains since carriers of any rate will always be High value targets) while she's dealing with Tosa and whatever else attempts to get past the other escorts to make a go on the transports. Since losing a transport ship is going to hurt Japan much more than Musashi getting even heavily damaged from the fight. We also can't rule out the possibility of both options of attack happening should there be more than one Abyssal Submarine present in the fray, either coming in with Tosa's group, or perhaps even laying in wait in a location Tosa's forces could push the Convoy towards. When it comes to subs of any kind, I rule out nothing because doing that is how they get ya.

I pray I'm wrong about all of this and nothing happens on during the upcoming Convoy run, but if something does happen...

Naka fiddled with the modem cord as she set up the router. "That huge debacle between you and Musashi being out in the open sent USPACOM into a tizzy. Not only did you have illicit relations with a Yamato-class, but it got posted for the whole world to see."

Jersey groaned and dropped her head into her hands. "Don't even remind me. It wasn't even my fault!!" She waved her hands in the air wildly. "After hearing Whisky sank, I was feeling … y'know, and it just kinda…. happened."

Naka plomped herself down onto her chair and straightened out her skirt. "Even so, that was one hell of a way to make your debut to the world."

Jersey blinked and raised a questioning brow "But didn't we have that stupid news conference like forever ago?"

A laugh erupted from the resident idol cruiser "You mean the one where you basically ripped into almost everyone there about not doing their jobs and gushed about the concept of selfies?"

A finger reached out to scratch her cheek sheepishly before asking "Heh… but still, why do I have to do this?"

Naka spun the chair several times as she replied. "That news conference was basically announcing to the world about your return. Being arguably the most powerful ship humanity has summoned in existence, your Navy High Command thought it prudent to let people know who you are. Everyone knows you, but they don't really KNOW you."


She flourished a finger towards Jersey's face. "As an idol I can say this. Introductions are super duper important…, and your Admiral thought that having people get up and personal with the greatest American battleship in existence would help make people feel safer as they get to learn more about you. That thing with Musashi kinda ruined the schedule, so that's why USPACOM is freaking out."

Jersey crossed her arms. "So that's why I have to waste an entire day answering peoples questions on-" She glanced quickly at the screen. "-Reddit? Couldn't we just gather up people into one room and do it there?"

Naka shook her head rapidly. "Nuhuh. Doing something like that is too formal. They can't really ask you any personal stuff. This is just so they can get to know who New Jersey REALLY is."

Jersey let out a huff, then looked at the keyboard. "Yea yea. But THIS!!" She pointed at the keyboard. "It'll take me like fucking eternity to type out everything."

"And that is what I'm here for!!" Naka cheered. She laced her fingers together and stretched her arms out in front of her. "You ready to get started?"

I drive a semi for a living. My head is about 9 feet off the ground, and the truck is a 10 speed manual.

My personal vehicle is a Ford Ranger with a 5 speed.

Once every month to six weeks, I get home and drive the Ranger.

It feels like I'm driving with my butt on the pavement. I can't see anything, and i have to be careful that I don't try to:

1) Compensate for a 53 foot trailer's off-tracking (off-tracking is the difference between where the wheels of different axles roll on the road.)

2) the gear pattern in my Ranger is only slightly different from the 10-speed. The 10-speed is basically a 5-speed with an extra switch. Gear positions 1-5 are re-used for 6-10 after you change from low to high on the switch. BUT the reverse gear is top left on the semi, and bottom right on my Ranger. I cannot count the number of times I tried to put borh vehicles in reverse using the gear pattern of the wrong vehicle.
