Something I just noticed about that picture. Why does she (I think it's Haruna?) have a collar with a heart on it?
Still Guns is correct from a gameplay standpoint, though from a fandom aspect, it usually means that an artist has a particular fondness for that shipgirl. If you search the guy who drew that Haruna (Tsukui Kachou), you'll find that she has a Heart Lock in pretty much every image of her, for example.

*Looks at a shell. Looks at a sailor standing by the shell.*

Holy crap. It's one thing to read about the size of a shell, it's another to actually to be able to compare one to a actual person.

And these are 14"; how much bigger were the 16" ones?

Not as much bigger as you'd think. However, because exponents are fun, they're a lot heavier.

They weighed approximately as much as an old Volkswagen Beetle. And flew 27 miles.
Courtesy of Navweps.com, this picture, in which you can kind of see the breech past the plug.

And this is courtesy of Etsy. This setup is only $8000 USD

you know I have to wonder... what would be the signs that Jersey was about to get a remodel? (Kai, whatever the term is, I've spent the night Enjoying rum with the fellas so exact terms escape me)
Or generally any of the other shipgirls? Would it like be like as seen in the anime? Or would it be somethin else?

Hyuuga: Hey now! Stop making fun of Fuso and Yamashiro! It's not their fault that they have bad luck!
and shit armor (also applies to you)... and lots of conviently placed explosives thanks to all those turrets (also you)... and ass backwards powder and ammo storage... oh wait that was just you*

* when the Ises first entered service the powder room was situated above the shells rather than below it. Do I really need to explain the issue with putting the part of your ammunition more likely to explode in a place where its more likely to get hit in a battle.

Hyuuga: *Leans forward with hand cupped to ear as explosions from shells and bombs could be heard from where Spectre is* I'm sorry but I cannot hear you over you being wrong about Aviation Battleships.

Wait Aviation battleships... I was just talking about all the IJN pre Nagato battleship designs...

And no I'm not counting the Kongos in that they were battlecruisers and at least have the excuse of being in a class not designed to get into slugging match with the standards.
